    The pagan "Ukrainian" prince you mention was St. Vladimir, and his country was called "Rus'," not "Ukraine." "Ukraine" in fact means "border." Border of what, you might ask? The border of the Rus', i.e the land of Russia. Today the descendants of the Rus' live mostly in 4 countries, Russia, Ukraine, Belorus, and Carpatho-Russia (i.e. Slovakia). But they all come from one people.

      In Orthodox church, we are very familiar with the story of the prince of Kiev sending emissaries to find the true faith, and how they were completely blown away by the liturgy at Hagia Sophia ("we knew not whether we were in Heaven or on Earth") So, is that where the name of famous Icon "Theotokos of Vladimir" is from? (I've always been told that it was written by St. Luke on a piece of wood from the table of the last supper, but I never knew why it's called "Vladimir").

    • @fr.johnwhiteford6194
      @fr.johnwhiteford6194 3 года назад +2

      @@giuseppelogiurato5718 The Icon is named for the City of Vladimir, in Russia. I would put a link to the account of the history of this icon, but I have found that RUclips trashes comments with any links. But if you google "Vladimir Icon of the Mother of God" you can find the history.

    "Traditional" first century buildings in Nazareth.
    Because in the 1800's there were not any buildings there at all. It was a well in the dessert. There is no historical record for the existence of Nazareth prior to the 19th century.
    If you want to go to a tourist trap in a dessert...go to Vegas. The buffets are better and you don't have to sleep out in the air with donkeys....and fools.

    somewhat of misnomer calling it an "Ancient Istanbul Ritual" since the name Istanbul has only existed since 1453

    • @Kimbermoi
      @Kimbermoi 3 года назад +4

      It served as an imperial capital for almost sixteen centuries, during the Roman/Byzantine (330-1204), Latin (1204-1261), Byzantine (1261-1453), and Ottoman (1453-1922) empires. Only the names changed at the whim of the leaders.

    The younger viewers don't remember the horrors that were thrust on trusting Israelis who were blown to bits on public buses by women, kids, and old men outfitted with suicide vests by Hamas during the first and second Intifadas. Movement between territories was easy, and look what Israel got for their naivety. It's pretty cut and dry why Israel put up this wall. Shame on Hamas and the PLO for making that area dangerous and chaotic. The Israelis would like nothing more than to have peace with all of their neighbors. I am neither Jewish or Israeli, but I'm old enough to have seen decades of violent attacks against Israeli troops and civilians shortly after Israel gave concessions to Hamas to achieve peace. They will not stop until they destroy Israel or they are utterly pulverized themselves.
