Great insights on the upgrades at the W. We did St Regis in 2019 and the breakfast and service were phenomenal. I think now more than ever we need more videos like this. Some of us are hopeful to plan trips soon.
Big Seb, thanks again for another wonderful video! I enjoyed the tour of the “over water” suite & ocean scenes. The best part of the video is watching the two of you have fun. Keep enjoying life & hopefully we can all get back to traveling soon.
@@AskSebby do you think the W is the best bet for a Marriott property? I’m using points. And in July they are all about the same price. My friend wants to snorkel so house reef is important. I’m more luxury tho so was thinking St. Regis or ritz but ended up at the W.
We haven't been to the Ritz yet. IIRC, StR snorkeling wasn't as eventful. Some small sharks but pretty shallow. W had a lot of coral and also a turtle I swam with for 1-2 days. The best snorkeling was NOT by the bungalows though, it was pretty much on the other side by the land rooms. Mandy: W by a landslide. StR sucked (boring). Waldorf Astoria was okay.
Thanks for the video Sebby! Thanks to you and Mandy, I was able to book a 6 night stay at the Waldorf Astoria Maldives for next month!! I probably watched that video like 100 times at least LOL!!! I have a question. Out of all the resorts on the Maldives, which one was your favorite and any tips for going to WA Maldives?
I don’t know if this is something you’re uncomfortable/have concerns doing, but could you show more of the dining options you guys take when you stay at these reach/high end properties? Thank you!
Hi Sebby! How would you compare this to the Waldorf Maldives? I’ve watched all of your videos and am curious how you would rank the hotels you have stayed in Maldives. Cheers and happy new year!
So the W over the St Regis is what I'm hearing!!!! At least for being an auto Marriott Bonvoy Gold member (thanks AMEX Platinum), I may get some upgrade at the W in the Maldives. But it definitely points out need Bonvoy Platinum status within the Marriott system. The Maldives, something to look forward to.
Hey Sebby, you are my go-to guy when it comes to an inspirational trip to the Maldives... I've been stockpiling HH pts but I'm not sure if I should continue to move forward with this since all the recent changes and devaluations. Think you could make an update video? Ty Sir
Seb buddy! Thanks for the share! Thanks for not showing us your thong 😂 like every other youtuber. On a serious note: Finally, great to see a normal couple living like the rest of us, enjoying some vacay, as a normal vacay should be enjoyed. Tired of all the fake vacationers with the "cute" 🌈 glamorous music in the back ground / running around half naked! You're one of a kind, safe travels to you and the Mrs. 🙌 Cool guy right here folks! 👌 One more thing Seb, how long was the flight from the United States to Maldives? Direct, or any stops? Thank you.
I loved the swirl camera work. (Also, thanks so much for teaching me the credit card game. I too a quick trip to Naples, FL for the New Year...for free...with upgrades.)
Hey Sebby I was looking to do a similar thing but when I go to book I always see a huge “local fee” which racks up to $1000 on top of the points used for the stay. Did you avoid this and how so? Thanks and great video!
As an Ambassador member, are they likely to give my wife and I an upgrade? Celebrating our 4th Anniversary! Absolutely love the over the water suite you both were in.
@Christopher Walken Qatar Airways will be launching a flight from Seattle to Doha, Qatar in March 2021. With that you flight, you can make an easy connection to the Maldives.
Hey Sebby, which one was your favorite out of all the maldives resorts? I've been to the WA but would like to know how it stacks to the others. Thanks for the vid!
Each one has a different vibe. WA - Largest standard rooms (amazing!), but we visited shortly after they opened. Service wasn't up to par, and food is incredibly over priced compared to other resorts. I don't mind paying Michelin star prices if I'm getting Michelin quality food. Missed the mark here. St. Regis- Golden standard for service, and best breakfast buffet. Large rooms. Only downside is if you want to go snorkeling, not much going on around the resort. W - Our favorite. Fun vibes, activities, and "reasonably" priced food. Upgrade friendly and great service! Good snorkeling around the resort.
The camera set up in the description box is my usual at home studio. Travel is different -- Zhiyun Weebill + Sony a7iii + Samyang 14mm for wide shots + 24mm 1.4 GM for food/night shots.

Been awhile since the last time I’ve watched your videos like this. Forgot how relaxing it gets.
This was great and I love the helpful hints to upgrades at the end.
Glad it was helpful!
This was refreshing. Haven't even looked at a video like this in a long while
Ballin’. Beautifully shot video!
Thanks! :)
Luxury living courtesy of buying things you would anyways. Gotta love it.

Thanks! St. Regis was amazing. The only thing missing was good snorkeling spots around the resort.
Thanks Sebby, this video made my night. This is a must see in person. Thanks.
Started following you when you were at 1,300 followers. Congrats on your more than 10x growth man. Thanks for all the tips over the years
Thank you for watching over the years 🙏
how'd you get the different rooms on different nights? they offered different upgrades for each night you stayed?
AHH! Nothing beats a Sebby and Mandy travel video!
:)
The whiskey comparison shot is hilarious 🤣

All of this paid for through credit card rewards?
This is an older video so you might not comment but out of all the hotels in the Maldives that you’ve stayed at which one was your favorite?
Hey did you ask for the upgrade to the WOW suite on arrival or did you correspond with the resort ahead of time?
Didn't specifically ask them for it. The management there likes to upgrade people w/ status as rooms become available.
Amazing - need to do this one day... one day
Goals! Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching! :)
Wow I’ve always wanted to come to the maldives
WOW AWESOME, GOOD INFO, THNX👍
Just booked 6 nights with points but they only had the smaller overwater bungalow. Wish they had the wow bungalow.
Congrats on the booking Troy! Hopefully you get an upgrade :)

I’m working on getting enough points to go to the Maldives

Different vibes. Exclusive luxury = WA. Fun and relaxed = W.
I loved the swirl camera work. (Also, thanks so much for teaching me the credit card game. I too a quick trip to Naples, FL for the New Year...for free...with upgrades.)
Looks great! I was wondering how much the redemption was for each room type you have been in.

Wow I would love to go there. W Maldives seems amazing.

Local fee may be the seaplane charge

Fascinating...
Awesome! Looking to do a Maldives trip this year with Hilton points/free nights. Do you have any tips to fly there from Seattle? Thanks!

I need that right now...
Omg, this looks amazing! I want to stay on water.
It was amazing! W Maldives is one the most upgrade-friendly resorts we've stayed at.
That's so cool!
I’m jealous lol. Great video, hopefully one day I can visit
What's there to do in the Maldives for 5 days?
Lots of 👶 making practice

This is great! Bucket list item for sure! Gotta save those pennies.
Save those points! ;)

Is this your second trip to the Maldives this year?
I don’t believe your camera set up. I feel like you have a DJI Ronin SC + Sigma 16mm 1.4
The camera set up in the description box is my usual at home studio. Travel is different -- Zhiyun Weebill + Sony a7iii + Samyang 14mm for wide shots + 24mm 1.4 GM for food/night shots.
Not as expensive as I would expect.

Bitcoin is too volatile for me to recommend to most people. It could be a good investment if you buy and hold!
