So happy to see this finally hitting the spotlight. I remembered talking to the designer in person when the board was in a very early stage and was very rudimentary. Good luck to the runner and anyone who is interested in joining the buy. Knowing the runner I am more than sure this board is going to be stellar.
Tae, your creativity and uniqueness is really starting to show. Loving the outdoor shots of this mate and looking forward to you raising the bar on these videos woweee
When you're looking for a different approach on getting your numpad with rotary encoder and don't want to spend a fortune, consider getting a macro pad. I just build a 4x4 plaid pad with 14 switches and two rotary encoders. Easily programmable with VIAL and it works like a charm. I spent about 75 USD (65 EUR) for this solution.
What do people have against having buttons on a keyboard? You go through the effort of adding a numpad and a knob and then leave off the f-row and nav cluster. Brilliant.
Love that there are keyboards being designed by Saigon’s keyboard lovers. The community here is quite small and isn’t the most familiar with more premium boards like this but this is an amazing board. The video is great as always
knowing this kb come from a local shop in my country make me happy somehow also the "jwick yellow" got me so hard, lol like your video, detail and good effect
I really love your videos. The yt algorithm blessed me with your video on building a discord board months back and I quickly fell in love with your content! Honestly I didn't even know there were different types of keyboards at the time and now I'm 2 keyboards and 4 groupbuys deep hahahaha I regularly comeback just to rewatch some because its so relaxing. So I just want to say thank you 😁 I hope you're happy and healthy 💗
I need to start blocking some sites now. I hate that I want this so bad and at my level, I cannot justify the cost. ✅ South paw, arrow key clusters on the right, left knob, premium looks, VIA compatible, I wish they could make a cheaper version. PC case and or plate, hotswap, Only a man can dream.. i need to re evaluate my decisions in life...
there is a nero black version which has a black nickel plated brass plate that fans in the discord think might be popular, Long Tran has a video of the Black nero version from building prototype months ago.
I love the layout but I'd rather a full numpad to one with a knob, and I need a much lower price 😬. Other then that, it looks perfect for me. If it could be made with cheaper materials to lower the price I'd be totally down.
I hate that these layouts are so rare, I'm only 20, been studying CS for 3 years and using a right hand numpad layout for 8-10 years, and I'm already noticing differences in my posture and range of motion that come specifically from having to move my right hand so much between keybaord and mouse, while my left hand just sits over the same area all the time. I can't wait to get one of these
the led bleed on the 4th RGB led is maybe from not installing the foam gasket. it can be blocked by other methods too like a tiny piece of tape if you don't want to use the gasket.
funny, i was thinking about getting a 60% + separate numpad on left side. and possibly mapping the numpad as function row on a separate layer, which if you miss the function row, it might work well
I joined the Hidari Group Buy. Looking forward to having a numpad on the left. I already use the Stellar 12 on my left hand and a Murphpad on my right hand.
I wish I could use a keyboard like this. Keeping the alpha cluster centered is much more ergonomic than having it off to the left. Unfortunately, I've gone and gotten myself addicted to buckling springs, so I'm stuck with whatever layouts those keyboards are produced in. Perhaps I'll buy a Mini M if I can convince myself I don't need a numpad.
thank you for posting the Viendi review, I was hopeful for a long time waiting since we heard in August from the viendi discord you would be doing one :). I am a fan of your videos in general. could you tell us how you programmed the Shift key to be short tap Arrow and long hold Shift? this is an interesting way to do the arrow.
Here is how: - On QMK, put this into the Right Shift input: MT(MOD_RSFT, KC_UP) - On VIA, on tab Special, assign the Right Shift with "Any" button, then put in MT(MOD_RSFT, KC_UP) Note: this is called "Mod tap" you can do the similar to other Mod keys like Ctrl, Alt,...
Those knobs are gotoh VK dome guitar knobs and they come exactly in those four colors. You can buy them for like $5-6 if you want. They even have some artisan models.
there are 3 or 4 options for the arrows there and you can split that shift key I believe on this board. several optional layouts are published as options for people. I might start using arrows on the left numpad and stop lifting my hand from the right mouse more.
I think only those whose hands almost never leave the keyboard would utilize a right hand numpad. Most other people with desk space would be better off with one on the left, or none at all. Kinda interested.
I feel like the Hi-Finger 7.5 would be a perfect keyboard for Tae. Premium sound and feel with a numpad, but the odd layout keeps it compact on the desk.
Love left hand numpads, but I think I still preffer to have the numpad externally. Makes it easier to bring the keyboard around, and takes up less space on the desk when you don't need the numpad
It boggles me why isn't it the standard for numpad on the left. It makes much more sense! This way both your hands are reaching equal distance to the alphabet, and when you use your mouse with left hand, you can adjust numbers on the right! I'm really jealous with left-handed people for using mouse on their left. The majority of keyboards make sense to them!
the board of my dreams is a 75% with a left numpad, someday in the future someone is going to make that and i wish i could say that id buy it immediately but unless its like 100usd ill be sticking with my janked aliexpress setup for now.. great vid as always, left numpad users rise up!!
