Raised an only child in a working class family. I am now 79 years old. I understand the importance of family, but I have not had one in a long time. I do not miss what I do not have. The basic reason I never wanted to be a parent is -- I was drafted in 1968. I swore no child of mine would ever be forced to fight in war, ergo no children.

Peter's parting comments about being a father and the pride he takes in his family are spot on. I can't imagine where I would be without my kids and grandkids. Great show as usual Scott.

I had no idea hookers and blow were bad for one’s health. Blow is gluten free and raises the heart rate… Guess I was wrong.

It's a great book. In addition to being intuitively convincing, it backs it up with data, and organizes it in a way that helps you identify the problem and give you ways to deal with it. Of course, the magic is in the doing, and doing with intention.

The initial benefits for anyone starting the most basic exercise routine - even a 20-30 minute walk around the block - are (1) the intrinsic therapeutic benefits of nature (a park, trees or just skyline) to activate the organs and lower cortisol and (2) the accountability loop that activity creates - "maybe I won't have that snack because I am now working to improve myself." When all you're doing is gaming or TV, we may think "what's one more cookie gonna hurt at this point."

Self love is very important. Investing in personal development is great advice. Indeed family can provide emotional support. The best recommendation for everyone is to believe in God and abide in his commandments.

Scott: “So Peter, how do I get 80% of the benefits by doing 20% of the work? I don’t really feel like leaving my hotel room or going to the gym.”
    Peter: “Dude wtf”

Attia doesn't read social media comments, so here are a few critiques he wont see from a long-time follower:
    1) If you'd gone back to your 18 yr old self and told them to figure out what was really important to them and get them to chill, you'd never have the success you have in life. You'd never have the drive and the unreasonable personal vision to create what you have created. It doesn't work. You have to be idealistic. Your anger, in the end, is your sense of idealism identifying things that are wrong in the world and lashing out at them. You needed it to get where you are, in some form.
    2) When you go on Joe Rogan and tell the world that Canadian healthcare is essentially veterinary care, people will lose respect for you because its just a straight up lie. And I know that because I lived in Canada for years and the US for years.

It helps to recognize how normal our personal flaws are, be it emotional, financial, health or relationships, when we see these are part of being human, and many people suffer from these issues to varying degrees. We can’t stop emotional outbursts if we don’t know how to recognize the beginning of an emotional outburst. Once we have flipped on the ‘crazy switch’ it’s hard to be honest with ourselves. Also any external commentary on our mental disorder only fuels worse behavior. It’s when we are calm, low blood pressure, mentally balanced, when we can be honest and take better measurements of our emotions, finances, health and relationships. Meditation gives us the calm to honestly see ourselves. It just takes a wild brain a long time to learn meditation, so people quit too early in the process.

Just trying to motivate myself from a position of insomnia and pain from fibromyalgia, where medication can make you feel like a zombie and barely able to shower let alone exercise. Ive wanted abpool all my life and now that we have one, the sensation of water on my skin is overwhelming and I have swum twice in 3 years.
I have only got 13 years before I fall off the cliff, i just don't recognise the person I've become, from an active, gym going, mountain bike competition and horse riding, body surfing, hiking and energetic person to someone who cant wait to lie down, my bed is now my best friend.
I'm trying to do some exercises in bed, on the night's I cant sleep.
My husband is bewildered, as I'm not the woman he married. And we are the classic duo of I fall asleep just about when he gets up. And he snores!
I'm wondering if having a bad case of Measles, then Scarlett Fever, then influenza straight after each other when I was a kid had an influence. Strangely, I don't get flus, colds etc normally, besides swine flu, although I had to be on a drip, I recovered quickly.
I felt the best on a WFPB diet, but the energy to make it is lacking and my hubby only knows how to braai🤣🤣🤣

yes, this is anecdotal, AND i have such s strong premonition that this is going to be the biggest disaster drug in modern history.
