As someone who grew up in extreme Christianity, I wasn’t able to respect other religions and then I decided it wasn’t for me, left Christianity and converted to Judaism, on my own accord, in other words not of marriage or forced conversion and truthfully I feel like the Satanist does about everyone having the right to call G-D anything they want and to worship or not worship. Oh, yes, I'll be sure to believe you over LaVey's own writings in which he states very clearly that he's an atheist. While it is true that the Satanic Bible states "the notion that Satanists do not believe in God is a misconception," or something like that, the closest it comes to actual theism or deism is that of the self, i.e. autodeism. The archetype of Satan symbolically represents "god" as that inspiration for Satanists. Easily misinterpreted, and no doubt difficult to explain on a TV show. The idea that all satanists or that even lavey or the cos are expressly "atheist" is false. of course atheism is an accepted paradigm within satanism, but it is not nesscary, so long as one is following their own will, their own mind, and embvraces some reason, god belief or none is not truly relevant within satanism, not rejected nor affirmed collectively..each individual deciudes for themselves.

@davindersingharora I think what LaVey is implying is that metaphorically "god," by whatever name, exists as a representation of a source of inspiration. The archetype of Satan symbolically represents "god" as that inspiration for Satanists. Easily misinterpreted, and no doubt difficult to explain on a TV show. But, I'm quite sure he meant it metaphorically rather than literally.

Personally I do not use electrical lighting at home and on my Satanic Altar or in the studio when I record vocals, only black candles as electrical lighting drives away the spirits and I love having them near me. People who see Satanism from the Christian view point are not treating these powers with respect and that is very dangerous. I once actually summoned a spirit in order to prove they are real to a girl who doubted and Satan came. My wife will not look in our mirror in fear something will come out.
In Satanism you are your own God. LaVey felt and I agree that we are all individuals born with different needs and views and so he felt everyone should make up their own mind about what to believe in spiritually if anything at all which is why he left a huge void in the Satanic Bible when it came to spirituality or any kind of religious beliefs and so within the Satanic Philosophy a person can still be a Christian if that fulfills their spiritual needs. Satan also means the Opposite, Inverted, Reversed which is why we wear the Satanic crosses and pentagrams. Satan means the opposite of religion. There is an evil force that is completely destructive but I don't encounter is very often, however it does exist. Anton here talks like an ordinary man more or less. This force though, could be understood better, the force of evil. I just know one or two things about it so far.
Okay but how do you know what objectively defines evil? I think it varies between cultures to the extent that no one can actually say for sure. I am not really a fan of dualism because of this.

I think some people misunderstand what I meant when I stated that Anton was more intelligent than the ones here. He was far more intelligent, but he was what is known as an evil genius.
