    Hi this is a great video! Thank you for sharing your experiences. How does it work thought with mixam and getting your books printed through them into established book wholesalers and distributors? Is that possible at all?

    • @EmmaRosenBooks
      @EmmaRosenBooks  Год назад

      Yes, through gardners. And you can supply directly to retailers too.

      @@jbee9361 no, I should probably make one! Make sure nielsen record is up to date and then bookshops can order. That’s the main thing to start with.

      @@EmmaRosenBooks Thank you! I guess I just don't understand how you would link Maxin to bookshops or Gardners. I suppose it means if someone ordered from a bookshop you would have to manually post each order yourself to the bookshop? But then it wouldn't be on Gardners catalogue? Is that right?

    Hi Emma, great video, thanks. I have a question, do the colors print exactly the same as they look in photoshop?, I tried printing my drawings in a normal printer at home just to check and they look darker than on the screen.

    • @EmmaRosenBooks
      @EmmaRosenBooks  3 года назад +2

      They're not far off! Supposedly you can calibrate your screen so you see it how it will appear, but I have no idea how.

    Hello dear, thank you for this explanation. I have discovered your channel about a week ago and it’s very well done. I am trying to get my first book for children published via KDP and right now I’m waiting for the ISBN (I have decided to buy my own one ). I haven’t watched all of your videos yet but I was wondering if you would suggest opening a website where I can sell my book?? I live in China but I have chosen to go through KDP to publish my first book since it would have been easier for the book to be distributed in Europe. I have already checked some printing companies here to print better quality books and with a hard cover (not possible with KDP) but if I need to ship it to another country, I’m afraid it’s gonna be expensive. So, I’m still pondering wether I should create a website as well or only going through KDP... thanks for reading this message. And all the best to you 😉

    • @EmmaRosenBooks
      @EmmaRosenBooks  3 года назад +1

      If you use KDP it will sell through Amazon internationally. You can set up your own website too. 😊

      @@EmmaRosenBooks thank you! I’ve just seen that KDP offers the possibility to publish hard cover books now but the sizings are limited . Only 5 sizes available for now ...

    Your printed book starts in your righ hand and changed to the left so bit confusing you need to print a minimum of 1000 to get a good price but a bigger risk factor to sell ...

    • @EmmaRosenBooks
      @EmmaRosenBooks  3 года назад +3

      Well spotted, I had an issue in filming and then when I retook I picked them up in the wrong hands.
      You're right about the 1000 or even 2000. I didn't have the money to print that many, however, and I found that with a shorter print run the profit margins were still preferable. But hopefully the next print run can be higher!

      @@EmmaRosenBooks can you start out with POD and if it looks good change to seller central and deliver your own books to them ?

    • @EmmaRosenBooks
      @EmmaRosenBooks  3 года назад +1

      @@russellnorth6762 in theory yes, but if you've ticked expanded distribution you might have problems because the ISBN will have been registered to. Nielsen and it's hard to then use it again because it's already in use.
