Certain body frames make some lifts much more taxing than for others. Deadlifts and squats are great examples. Trap bar is a nice alternative, same with safety squat bar. (if you have access of course). DL are the most taxing on the CNS in general if I'm not mistaken.
I would imagine that’s the case with the CNS but also not really efficient with the requirements. It doesn’t carryover to the ruck, you’re hitting triple joint extension with the squat, and less likelihood to tweak. But you’ll hit similar muscles with the squat, just less emphasis on the lumbar. You get 2 exercises so maybe RDLs but I doubt it makes a difference if it isn’t in Jake’s program
The only place I'd disagree here is by having a goal being a rep rape. 100-120 shouldn't be your goal. It doesn't condition your mind. If you hit 100, what is driving you to do 120? If your goal is 120, and you do 100, then you'd failed to hit your goal. Have a set, fixed number in mind. If your goal is 100-120 then your goal is 120. If your goal is 120 then 119 is a failure.
Late comment, been lifting my whole life from 13 to currently 25. I need to focus on running and swimming the most. I gas out to easily. As far as the lifting would you think front squats and overhead press are the main things guys are weak in witch will carry over to the strength required for SF selection?
Max bench is 150 and Jake says we'll get that up to 225 and you can see him think to himself, "o shit".
Does anybody know if Jake did a follow up about this guy’s SOAS process?
@@dannyfang4899 In another comment, Jake said he’s going Missile Officer in the AF

Yes Lifting is a killer at BUDS..... muscles make please quit
Are treadmills a good way to increase mileage and run times?
Over speed training ..... thats it
Thanks
HELLL YEAH!!!
Absolutely
What are your thoughts on deadlifts? I was thinking of doing squats as you prescribed, and deadlifting afterwards before the leg curls.
Im back has never let me dead lift ...so I have no comment
@@jakezweig LOL sounds legit...deadlifts are heavy on the lower back..

What this makes no sense or I am not smart enough to understand what your saying....please explain for the 2nd grader
He didn’t say 100-120 he said 100 push ups 100 sit ups 20 pull ups
What about Tuesday Thursday and Saturday? Is he just focusing on runs.
Saturday is long run day , if all your doing is lifting then so be it
Lifting before swimming , not good??
Correct.
Lift after.
I have lifted before swimming but like 6 hours.....but I find lifting after swimming makes my lifts better
Can i get the new pdf

Did the dude make it?
Negative but not surprised
What pellet gun did you recommend?
I bet Jake would probably recommend an M4 style.
