I’ve been in Japan more than 10 times and I’ve never been to Hakone at least once. I will take my mom to Japan next month after the opening. Almost 3 years we cannot travel. I’m in decision to go to Hakone this time or not. Your video really gave positive vibe and made me wanna go there this time. Thank you for this.
One thing to note - everything closes really early in Hakone and it was pretty much a dead town by 6-7pm. Other than that, it was really beautiful and a good escape from the city
wow... the trees and the scenary at Chisuji Falls is surreal, makes me wanna save up just to go to Japan again.. also mad respect to you Shawne, carrying all that gear while exploring just so that you could film... slipped and fell somemore hahahahhaa rip
Yeah only in Japan you’d get so many maple trees. Its a dream. Thanks a lot, I love creating the best I can create so it’s worth every sweat and pound👌🏻
This could not have been a better video for me. Booked my flight to Japan today going solo and wanted to visit Hakone and you captured it perfectly. Cannot wait to take photos there at the spots you so cinematically shot.
Your videos are amazing! Editing, quality, aesthetic... I feel like I was there with you in these places! Inspired and got the feeling that I want to learn how to make such cool videos! (although I've never filmed any video yet haha) I can't believe your channel doesn't have at least 1 million subscribers yet?! 🧐
Always so inspiring to watch your videos! Also your new Japan video series is fire, can't wait to visit Japan myself again soon! Keep on the good work :D
Just found you channel, and I'm really enjoying this series. Now that Japan is open again, I'm super excited to return. Your videos are getting me excited about planning my own trip! Looking forward to future content!
Journeying with you through Hakone through your lens! Quick question- around what time was it when you visited the Torii gate? I'm in love with its beauty 😍
your videos are making me so excited to go to japan next year! thank you! honestly I almost lost it though when you started eating that black ice cream
I don’t ever comment but I just wanna say, the amount of effort that goes into your vlogs is insane… absolutely love the edits and the transitions. Keep doing what your doing :))
Great video!! My friends and I are thinking about staying at the Inn you stayed at, but we can't seem to figure out how to navigate the transportation. Was everything walkable distance? Also, was the Freepass worth it? And if so, how much was it?
Thank you! I took a train to Odawara station then a bus to the inn (bus info displayed in google maps). Inn is walkable from the stop. I’m not sure how much is it right now, but the freepass was worth it to me as it covered the to and fro transport + some free attractions in the area. Hope this helps!
Hi new subscriber here! Just recently came across your channel and I’m so glad I did because I love these types of travel videos. The cinematography and aesthetic is amazing and I can’t wait for part 3!
@shawneydepp just to let you know,I followed this itenerary when I had visited tokyo last month. I stayed in lake Aishi for 2 nights, and had the best photo of Tori Gate day and night. It's totally super worth it. Thanks bro for showing us this 👌
pls suggest 2 night 3 days itinerary from tokyo to tokyo. like after bf depart from tokyo to hakone...visit hakone on day 1, overnight stay at hakone ryokan onsen, next day after bf visit mt.fuji and surroundings, overnight stay at hakone again or near gotemba premium outlet, next day morning after bf shop at gotemba premium outlet then evening come back to tokyo. Is this correct way? and which transport to use. we r considering renting a car? will that be fine? two coples with kids....pls suggest...thanks
You are very talented. I thoroughly enjoyed your video. I'm planning a trip in the Fall and it is very useful. I'm in my 60's so I dont see myself climbing into a bunk room :)
Hey where exactly was the starting point of your hike in the Old Tokaido Road where your end point was Amazake Tea House? I don't want to hike a long stretch of the Old Tokaido Road, i'll be happy with a 30-40min hike ending at Amazake. But i don't know where to start!! :( i don't know what are the different entry points to the hiking trail that i can choose from huhuhu
@@shawneydepp I saw “Cobbles on Old Tokaido Highway” in Google Maps. Hopefully this is it. 😅 i don’t wanna get lost in a hiking trail in Japan hahaha! Or hopefully i bump into a fellow tourist/hiker who speaks in English so i can ask lol. But thanks for the response ;) maps.app.goo.gl/X3xMVo6FCkh3Pyjq6?g_st=ic
Yes I stayed 2 nights and got the 3 day pass. It just starts on your selected day and ends after the 3rd day. So my return train tickets tokyo - hakone and hakone - tokyo were covered.
Hey Shawney! New subscriber here from Malaysia, first of all, love the content, love what you do. Im a huge japan fan and am finally able to plan a japan trip for myself actually. But I've been wondering, how are you able to travel alone or like what advice would give to someone inspired to venture into solo traveling in japan but not able to speak japanese 😆
Thanks man 👊🏻 Japan is one of the best destinations for solo travel imo. Google translate and maps would be your best friend. Get the suica/pasmo card for public transport, it’ll be a lot more convenient.
@@shawneydepp thanks for sharing! What about rail passes, When would you recommend them over suica/pasmo? Anyways i hope you make more japan contents in the future ✨
seeing all that you see, from your angle, through your lenses…makes the world such a beautiful place. thank you 🙏🏼🙏🏼
My pleasure 🙏🏻

Did you track to the tea house and then back to Tori Gate again ??? It must be a hell of a hike .... You should take a bus to the tea house .
Yes I did. My legs were destroyed. I missed the last bus back to the tori gate unfortunately
@@shawneydepp should take the bus first to the teashop ... i think the shops close pretty early ...

Thanks for sharing! Yes tempura with salt is actually pretty amazing too.
Glad to see there's no one at the Hakone Shrine at sunset, maybe I'll visit then. Is it hard to access without a car? Great shots by the way.
Hakone Shrine is pretty convenient, no need for a car imo. This was shot before Japan opened up so there might more crowds
@@shawneydepp Ah I see, that explains it. Thanks.

Such an amazing video! I'm heading to Japan in December, what would be the must see things to do if we just have one day in Hakone?
I would say the Hakone shrine, pirate ship and Owakudani - they’re the main attractions at Hakone
You are very talented. I thoroughly enjoyed your video. I'm planning a trip in the Fall and it is very useful. I'm in my 60's so I dont see myself climbing into a bunk room :)

Dayum, thanks man 👊🏻
Great video, I looking to visit in March. Where did you store your suitcase once you arrived in Hakone?
I arrived in the evening so I just had it in my hostel
Does the Hakone Torii gate close at a certain hour? Or do you mean last light as in they just turn off the lights but you can still visit?
It doesn’t close. I meant last natural light
Great video! I hope I can make a trip to Japan again next spring
Thanks! Spring would be so beautiful
Luv this vid. Esp those scenes in the forest…
Where do you store the luggage sleeping in the Bunk bed capsule hotel?
there's a corner in the room to store all the luggages
Beautiful!! Which month did you go in?
I went during August
@@shawneydepp Thank you!
good vibe!!
is there is a need to have a permit when flying a drone around the countryside/tokyo/hakone/lake ?
Big cities like tokyo would be a no go. You’d just need to register your drone for Japan

MEVI mini 2
No issues with bringing in the drone, just gotta register
Fantastic video and love the music too! 👍
What's the specific title/artist of the song(s) you used for this video? Thanks!

@@shawneydepp we are planning to go to Japan in june end because of my son who is in grade 10. Wd the weather be fine?
did you drive or use public transport to navigate hakone? thanks in advance

Great video, loved it 😊
Thank you 🙂
Did you do the 3 day pass and stay 2 nights? The ticket isn't 24 hours it's just day 1, day 2, day 3? And departs on 3rd day?

Appreciate it 👊🏻 to be honest, not a lot of drone friendly places. I try to fly away from crowds and not at main attractions. The city is def a no go
HI bro, around where is the location of this Tempura Soba Lunch place ?
It’s near the Hakone Shrine
