This movie definitely has flaws, but there are at least three scenes from it that really shocked me with art, this scene in particular, is genius. Not to mention the creative anamation style, looks like it's mixed with water color
I find the movie to be fine, with an exception: this scene. It has something completely different, the music, the graphics, the textures from the whole rest of the film. I like this idea, because the change in how the audience percieves every element, is sort of showing how Eva feels hypnotized, caught by the music, in a wonderful explosion of emotions. This is probably the reason why it had such a strong impact on me. Eva is being magnetized by the music and then she sorta becomes hypnotized, you can see that fire in her eyes, which is not only the reflection of the fire in front of her. After she becomes hypnotized there are some odd and semi abstract scenes that intrigued me a lot. The heart beats dancing together show the similar paths of life of the other snakes. The paths end smashed on walls, but Eva's one instead continues through a weird labyrinth. It could mean that she is aiming not to pass her whole life in this imprisoned state, she is looking for a better future. After this part she is oppressed between the coils of a yellow snake, possibly a reference to the yellow snake in the circus that is in conflict with her for the charming George. The scene after, shows a sort of sperm-egg fertilization, which probably triggered most adults but in my opinion it wants to show us that it is Omar the magnet that keeps all snakes under control by the use of his flute, as the egg reveals to be Omar's Medusa like head. (One of the coolest images from this scene in my opinion) After some abstract imagery, Eva is drank like a cup of wine by a man, is shows us how she is used as an entertainment tool, just like a drink. She flows inside him, just like Omar claims thet venom flows inside him as a protection device. When Eva reaches the bottom (stomach I presume and hope) she encounters the memory of Ajar, here she realizes and remembers who she originally loved. To prove this point, she shortly after is induced in temptation by four copies of George that offers a juicy apple. This image really caught me because it resembles the sin committed by Eva in Biblical mythology, when she picks the forbidden fruit offered from a snake from a tree. In the case of the movie, she is also called Eva and the fruit offered to her is again an apple, symbolizing temptation induced by the charm of George. The last part doesn't show us if she picks the fruit or not, leaving the question unanswered for the spectator untill the end of the movie. Soon after Eva begins to loose color from her body, maning she has fully become part of the "circus" and her true identity is offuscated or might end up lost, since she is now in captivity. I hope one day to see the rumored sequel of Sahara!!! Have a nice day
Without question the best part of the entire movie. I enjoyed this film for the charm in it and wish that it could have been as good as this one scene. I hope they make the sequel good.
A sequel is exactly what it needs! The film felt a bit empty and the ending did kinda spoil the reat of the story but that was probably just a generalization anyway the characters were really interesting and at the end of the film I was just left with a strong curiousity about what happened to the characters , also: why the heck was I so fancy English?
@@whaleofbread5389 If they are making a sequel, I hope they put a lot of thought and work into it instead of just making it for monetary profit. That's what a lot of film makers do these days.
Before I read any more comments about the egg thingy, I just have to say to everyone: *A n i m a t e d m o v i e s a r e n o t s o l e l y m a d e f o r k i d s!* Or at least they shouldn't be. There are adults who also appreciate the creativity, art and effort put into animated movies and enjoy the hidden jokes and symbolism the kids still don't understand. Besides, how many children do you think will get the egg/sperm image? You've been teaching them this stuff already? The earliest they will even get that image is when they start to have health education at school which is like... When they turn 13? You can't raise kids in a bubble for eternity.
That’s actually fake, I don’t think this movies gonna get a sequel. They seem to have left it on a cliffhanger so we’d get a sequel but since they only got 8.1 Million dollars I think they won’t continue. It’s been nearly 5 years after all, as much as I love this movie I’ve accepted that it won’t get a sequel sadly.
@@nugget8906 the cartoon version is horrible then the real life one cuz the cartoon version was made in "1954" 9 years after WWII ended while the real life one was made in "1999"
Uh... did I just watch little snake spermies?? The animation is AMAZING, but this is a kids movie... (before you say anything, there is wildly inappropriate stuff in the whole film, not just this acid trip scene)
Does the moment at 2:08 remind anyone of something…such as Lucifer taking on snake form and offering forbidden fruit to Eve? Come on! It can’t just be me!
Although I don't have a problem with the sper-ferti whatever thing but it could have been replaced with a better scene. It could be like a green background with roughly drawn trees and Omar is playing his flute while the snakes crawl on to his head and then reveal Omar's Medusa like head.
I knew about sex, drugs, how terrible the earth is all at the age of eight. So I actually found this movie quite decent, my favourite character is Ajar.
ViviVenus Space well they're gonna learn eventually anyway And I don't think little kids will get it And the ones that do probably already learned about it
Fun, poor plot, inappropriate references. The movie overall was enjoyable. It started off highlighting concepts like racism and social inequalities. Then it completely dropped that point after a five second love story and a kidnapping, leading to a desert adventure. There were many drug and sexual references, but a lot of those would go over a child's head. One particular line from the movie creeped me out because it claimed that Eva enjoyed being forced to dance against her will. I admit, I wasn't paying full attention, so I might have missed some things. Overall I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't recommend it.

Yeah wtf that's creepy
The music and visuals are so cool in this. However, the "egg" part is..... eh.
Makes me uncomfortable, that is a coming from a person who has no desire in sex though.
Symbolism, if you don't want to delve into the meaning they are impling then just forget about it and enjoy the great animation.
O? Just sharing my opinion
