Speed Racer was released as both a film from the Wachowskis (The Matrix) and a hit video game from Sidhe Interactive. The story centers on Speed Racer (Emile Hirsch), a natural behind the wheel of his thunderous Mach 5. With support from Pops and Mom Racer (John Goodman and Susan Sarandon), girlfriend Trixie (Christina Ricci), younger brother Spritle (Paulie Litt) and the mysterious Racer X (Matthew Fox), Speed takes on fierce competitors to save his family's business and protect the sport he loves.

In the Speed Racer videogame, players get behind the driver's seat with this game based on the Wachowski Brothers film with its garage of combat-ready rides and see how they fare in "car-fu style" action. Players take on the role of the characters from the film, getting behind the wheels of each character's signature vehicles to experience firsthand the film's high adrenaline, combative racing style. The film itself is based on the classic series created by anime pioneer Tatsuo Yoshida. A live-action family adventure, Speed Racer follows the young racecar driver Speed in his quest for glory on and off the track.
