Years ago, I lived in Southern California for 13 years. (Thought I'd only be there about 5 while I was in school.) I woke up one day and realized that if I died tomorrow, maybe 2-3 people would come to my funeral. Fairly morbid, I know, but it just emphasized how shallow my friendships were. I really missed my family. So I moved back to cold, flat Michigan and my warm, loving family. It was the best thing I ever did 😊 Wishing you luck and a smooth move!
Your style in Zurich became so polished I mean damn, I used to copy a lot of outfits from you and it was a great inspiration. After the many years filled with fast fashion things and bright colors, it was nice to finally come to something quiet, classy and timeless (probably I need to move to Zurich lol) So just wanted to appreciate your inspiration on me. Wish you all the best in new chapter that takes place in Copenhagen💝
Thank you! But I'm always semi surprised when I hear this, I usually feel like I can't express myself accurately enough, but apparently it doesn't come across that way 😄
i definitely feel the "going back home" & going back for the culture. i lived on the US west coast with mild weather & mild-mannered people. but i'd rather live in Chicago with harsh winters, scorching summers & brutally honest people. ...let me know if you're ever visiting Chi-town! ;)
I am happy for you, I expected this to happen after you told us about your father. You are a strong young woman, it will be fun having you back in Scandinavia! ❤️from Stockholm!
I had a feeling you may move to London or back to Denmark. I will be in Copenhagen for a few days in the New Year; I'll keep an eye out for you in the fashion stores 😊. Good luck with your move. X
somehow i knew, that this announcement would come. without knowing much about your life, this decision feels right. from my german perspective, denmark seems such a nice place.
Hey Naja - how funny! I moved back home to California after 10 years in Seattle, Washington earlier this year, and its been such a good decision. As you said, I didn't become less "californian" living in Seattle and there were aspects of the culture / how people socialize that didn't sit right with me. Wishing you all the best in the move!
this video is not an epiphany, but definitely a very close call for me, since I am pretty much in the same situation! I have spent almost seven years in Germany by now, came here for studies. I learned the language, have been more actively engaged in the local life. But recently I realised that not only have I not become local, I will never be local. I can never become German even if I wanted and even if I got the passport. I don't regret my time in Germany a bit, this is a fantastic and life-changing experience. But I eventually decided to move back to my home country once I am done with my PhD, and just like in your case, it also has a lot to do with other people (but it's not the only reason). But people keep questioning my decision, and that starts to make me feel annoyed, because I am not asking for approval or discouragement, I am simply asking to respect my decision. As far as fashion goes, the environment definitely influences our style (my fashion has become so casual, I am actually looking forward to go back to a more "flashy, out there" place for a change). Congratulations on the new exciting chapter in your life!💖
I relate to everything you said. My main reason for pushing through is the gain the swiss passport, but ultimately I had to say that 4 years is just too long to sacrifice in my early thirties. Thank you 🩷
Your current style feels like too feminine for Denmark at the moment. It will be interesting to observe whether does it change or not after you move to Copenhagen. We are neighbors by the Baltic Sea, I live in Gdańsk, Poland. People here don’t pay a lot of attention to the fashion cuz we have the same awful windy weather, but Danish brands are very popular here. In particular I like Part Two, Modström, Selected Femme, Samsøe Samsøe etc.
Very true, but I was already dressed more feminine than average before I moved so It'll probably stay that way a bit since I'm not too into the androgynous look! Ahhh yes Samsøe. Looking forward to that one as well.
Yes, Naja, me neither. I used to like androgynous style in my early 20s as a protest against my inner femininity I was scared of. But now I’m happy to have it as DNA of my style no matter what fashion dictate to us. I mean I don’t ignore trends or impact of other people on my style but just happy that I’m able to maintain this loyalty to femininity for the last couple of years.
Velkommen tilbake til Skandinavia 😄🎉🥰 gleder meg til å se hva dette nye kapittelet vil bringe for deg. Jeg er utrolig nysgjerrig på hvordan dette vil påvirke stilen din igjen. 😄
How did everyone enjoy the thumbnail? 🇩🇰
♥️ like you opened a facetime call on accident

I like the way you choose your words, build your sentences and present your thoughts. Very expressive and clear.

You positively glow when talking about going home. Best of luck to you 😊
They say the longest road always leads home.🙂

It seems like this applies to almost every expat, which is wild! Thank you
Excited to see more Danish fashion, there must be more than Ganni 😁
Looking forward to your new life changes. Understand your reasons
