Beautiful. You've just given me some brilliant ideas for my place too. May I ask what the stain you're using is please? Need to protect some similar woodwork. Thanks.
That looks great and I am jealous of that ceiling! Just done mine with zinsser ceiling pro. Still looks so patchy after 3 coats! What did you use on that ceiling?
Couple of questions mate. Could you have caulked down the doorframes and top of skirts rather than using the filler? And did you have to somehow buy the right colour match for the staining? Great vid, they make me think!
Swinging a 18 inch roller about all day takes it out of you eventually . I’m personally happy using a 9 and half inch all day and not going home knackered !
It's very difficult... you can't win. What suites one does not suit the next. So I just make a living never going to be rich... but you are your own boss and lots of satisfaction. I always estimate that way everyone knows where they stand.. If you lose out its your own fault.. everyone thinks its easy. Does not matter what you charge if your not quick and great quality you will lose. Thanks
mate £120 a day is far to low £200-300 a day really subs who work for firms get £120 a day so if your sole trader running to quote and estimate buying all your own tools materials fuel paying for advertising liability insurance etc you need that extra other wise you will go broke
Really nice colour your using there matey! Love how it lends itself nicely to the woodwork. Them walls look real high! Love older properties. Is it a house or a venue type of place? Take care. Marc
Oh yes certainly why use anything else, any bigger and they can skip parts on uneven walls. Also more weight and more stress on your arms. Have heard about people using big rollers and having sore arms and actually having to change job. They thought they were working fast till the repetitive strain kicked in, and had to change jobs. Thanks
Looks mutch more calming in blue
Quality job, looks so much better in the blue colour.
Thank you.. yes the blue just sits back and is a lighter colour.
Nice tip with the scourer and scraper! Great video. Thanks.
Thank you..

@@PaintingandDecorating I meant what you were doing to them in this video... 😜
Top job, top man, as always. 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you.
So much classier that blue. Personally I'd have all the woodwork white, would look even better.
Thank you.. difficult to say about the woodwork.
Great job as always that 👌 so satisfying to see a transformation like that take place 🎨
Thank you.
Brilliant transformation 👌

Quality job sir 👍
Thank you.
What type of brush do you use for cutting your emulsion in, stiff or soft?
Top work! I want to paint matt emulsion over what I think may be silk paint (it has a shine to it), any tips?
Always wipe down and flat surface sand... then paint. Matt goes over silk no problem... apart from any surface contamination. Thanks
Nice job get a couple 18inch purdys and purdy scuttles save good couple hours on this job. On average saves an hour a day l reckon emulsion jobs
Thank you.

Biggest I generally go is 12 inch, unless you’re working on a dead flat wall, you end up with sausages and misses everywhere
Nice job...Not used Zoffany paints yet...How did you find the Zoffany emulsion?..opacity?..easy to work with?..lap marks/roller marks/orange peel etc?
Thank you.. yes very good found no problems and tough paint.
Nooice
Just out of interest how much you charging a day ,I'm a fellow decorator and finding it hard to find decent customers who pay the standard £120 a day

Do an estimate I wouldn't want anymore doing day rate I think customers think your going to string it out I always do an estimate.

Great job mate.. how long it take you?
Thank you.. difficult to say because was doing other rooms and waiting for materials.
Nice... How much did you make on that one? confidentially.
If you were 2 paint a marble fireplace.. would you prime it with B.i.N primer??
Yes you could use B.I.N or a multi surface primer for problem substrates.. thanks
👍👍👍
Thank you.

Thank you.. its a big old house.
hi great video as always can i ask why you dont use a 12" roller?
Just find using the 9" lighter on the arms.. and easy to use.. also more than half the time it's a small area yih are rolling.. thanks
@@PaintingandDecorating Hi thanks for the reply yes I understand love the channel thanks again
What happened to the radiators?
They were replaced..
A room this size, with very little furniture & your using a 9" roller on the walls🤔

@@PaintingandDecorating medium pile works perfectly, never heard of a painter changing jobs with RSI only typists. 🤣
Government minons on the gravy train.
Wow great job . You need to teach a school or something . Not many around with your knowledge or skill level.
Thank you and thanks for saying.
