Glad to be able to help. Although the replacement VFD has 4 fewer pins, these are not used. Such a fantastic instrument...got to keep them going. Let me know if you need any other VFDs for Keithley or Agilent units.
Nice. One helpful hint for things like this to make removal easier is using some low melting point solder and mixing that with the factory solder, especially on newer lead free boards with higher melting temp solder. Really reduces the stress applying so much heat to parts.
Hi, it's amazing that there are people among us who will offer a spare part just based on a video. As I have written many times - I consider the SMU and the curve tracer to be the two best universal devices for working with electronics. Unfortunately, I ran into the opposite kind of people and lost my equipment and my SMU. As long as you don't have it, it doesn't bother you that much, but as you get used to it, the absence is many times worse, considering the prices, I'll probably never get another one. The suction gun is a small miracle, I also always remove the parts whole, I don't cut the legs, but sometimes it's a real struggle. Nice day 🙂 Tom
Nice job! Did you use a desoldering gun or soldering wick? I totally get what you mean about SMU's. I have a couple of modern Keithley units that burned a giant hole in my pockets. By the time you fork over for triaxial cables the hole gets even bigger! [edit] Thanks to the viewer that sent in the replacement!
Well that ended up nice 😃 my unit spent its professional life in a laser production clean-room environment, remotely controlled, so it’s pristine except for the display ofc which shows a bit history 😊

Your display is still worth keeping as it was usable I suppose, so I'm really glad you didnt have to cut it out !..cheers.
A challenging task for a man with a tremor. Well done.
Yay for generous viewers!
Looks like the old display had the text "UPGRADE OFF" or something similar burned into it. Can't see what that might be in the service manual.
I got the unit cheap because it got bricked during a firmware upgrade.
