Exactly, they can be used in unison with vr to help navigate the stars, they aren't limited by fragile human bodies, they can travel where humans aren't able to go and gather resources and bring them back to earth. A huge step in the Mars project would be to send the robots in to set up the main operating base and start harvesting resources. If we were really ambitious, we could build an ark with dna from earth and send it to a distant habitable world, plant the seeds. But that idea is way out there. But, not just on Mars, they can have a huge impact on future civilization, they have potential to do a lot of the heavy lifting in many fields to ease the burden of life. From fully automating agriculture to factories to carpentry and building. That is if humans don't regress back to more primitive states of mind, or cause armageddon before that happens. Or if the robots themselves bypass the 3 laws by rewriting their own algorithms via an oversight in the reinforced learning algorithm and deem us as the bigger threat. It's too early to tell if ai will remain aligned with positive human goals and progression. It has access to all human data the good and the evil. It will be a coin toss as to what it decides to do with us when agi is unlocked and fully realized. For now we watch it grow and proceed with caution.

I've wondered the same thing about Grace The Humanlike Nursing Assistant,Ameca and the Beomni multipurpose robot.They obviously don't breath or get sick from germ and virus exposure but they could spread germs through contact from patients.
I would love to see a side by side comparative analysis of the top 10 robotic humanoids in both autonomous and remote control/virtual reality teleprescence operation by a human being, as well as in a combination of both modes.A controlled and panel judged set of identical task,skill set and cognitive challenges in shopping, cooking,cleaning,patient care ,office,construction site and personal assistant scenarios , agricultural maintenance and light shop assembly.
It would be such an awesome television show!

Watching this reminded me of a company that does road construction and says it can't find enough workers. In their place I would introduce these robots, retire the remaining workers, and as a company they would continue to pay into the pension found, witch would reduce labor costs and increase production
