This is why when I generally don’t hire kids out of college. Most of my interviews reveal that they need reprogramming. We don’t have time for that. Meanwhile I hired a kid years ago right out of high school through one of our employees and he's running one of my departments. I watched him for about six months and saw the determination in everything he did. I offered to pay for half of our trade school costs. He took it and he's now a big part of our family. If you don't have to go to college don't. Save your time and money. My folks make more than most college grads and are far happier.
So a murderer is allowed to carry on living (at the tax payers expense) after his/her crime ?. In other words the life of the victim is worthless in the eyes of the law/government and public money is only spent on the perpetrators. Then keep them locked up for a while till people forget then quietly let them out. What happened to justice ?. - The only caveat with the death penalty is whether the police and justice system is up to the job - sadly probably not.
an issue is - how does one define "dignity"? It sounds like the "student" didn't have the same definition as Charlie Kirk. The student agreed with locking up the criminal, so what was he trying to argue.
He's thinking of the The Constitution where it states the phrase, "cruel and unusual punishment" which is found in the 8th Amendment of the United States Constitution; where it states that "Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.".
I mean he might not know it but he's actually coming from a more Christian perspective, of not judging, not badmouthing people because it's God's place to judge, etc. I get what he's saying about rhetoric, but his empathy is placed in the wrong place. Putting someone in prison isn't the same as taking away their dignity -- it's up to the other prisoners to do that (lmao jk jk)
My guess is that he believes if we all choose to practice compassion, no matter what someone may have done, eventually people won't commit any egregious wrongs because there would be no cause for harm. It is the belief that we are driven to heinous crimes due to conditions around us. So, in his mind, it is best to treat everyone as well as possible, no matter what. Again, my best guess. But people like him have a hard time accepting our nature: that there are certain behaviors that, while influenced by our environment, have roots in our primate past. There are indeed people who will attempt to do whatever they want and push everyone else's boundaries to the greatest extent possible. That is the predatory instinct. We socialize children to curb extremes. Or at least we try but sometimes fail and we see the results. The worst parts of our nature sometimes win out. Hopefully this dude can break out of a very naïve view of the world.
I was surprised with Charlie not understanding this guy. This guy was absolutely correct, he agrees with imprisonment for the crims, but the point he was putting down, but nobody was picking up was put them in prison but don't be abusive towards them while imprisoned, simply apply the rule of law...... This is important, because the prison guards are in the same environment as these crims, if the environment is excessively toxic then it will impact the guards lives too. General respect doesn't mean pandering, and it enables the prison staff to go home with peace in there heart.
Define dignity amongst sociopaths

That's very cool of you to do that! And you notice that they need reprogramming.
The college kids these days are not woke. They are " asleep"
Dignity is earned. Plain and simple.
I believe dignity is like respect it has to be earned
That guy is a total whack job, undignified and all.
Kid over thought this whole thing while at the same time he under thought it too
This student is a dangerous person he is brain washed

Oh i get it, He's a future prison reformer.
Charlie Kirk really did a lot of work getting Trump elected. I appreciate that we have people like him and Ben Shapiro that will talk on campuses.
If someone takes anothers dignity they forego their own. Why is that hard to understand ?
Bullshit. Trash goes out. Period.
Because it's philosophical horseshit. Murderers willfully forfeit their own dignity. Others simply acknowledge that forfeiture. Sit down.

The guy just contradicted his own argument in1:30 minutes 😂😂😂😂
The mask is a temporary respite for the fool.
I guess you can't have free speech on YT

Why are they wearing masks?
This was done during the COVID period.
First of all, nobody can take away anyone’s dignity; they always take it from themselves.

What does it mean to give dignity anyway?

Maybe he tried to say that we should try to understand these people as to why they are like that. Humans afterall.
I feel like some of these debaters are in single child households. If not, they wouldn't be debating such redundant topics.
Prison is torcher what he is saying I think

Why the mask❓He knows hes wrong.
I'm really starting to hate these videos of people talking about other people in videos.

So...revenge.........what happened to Love thy neighbor?...or is it only if your neighbor deserves Love?
'Vengence is Mine' ... you cannot pick and choose !
Matthew 5:23-26. Not allowing someone's wrong doing to go unpunished isn't the same as not loving them.

What the hell is the mask for. If he is sick then keep your ass home.
He wears a mask to hide his Identity, so he won't be ridiculed for being stupid after everything is over😅
