You’re so humble and gentle to follow. I’m a beginner. Definitely following your methods.👍🏽 Thank you. Starting with the beginner progressions video first!
You awesome woman! It took me a couple weeks but I just did a handstand against the wall for the first time! Thank you for the tutorial! I’m excited to keep going to a free standing handstand.
Hi, Lucy! I am new to your channel, in fact I just started your Beginners Body Workout Calisthenics yesterday. What I like about your videos is that you reassure us, beginners, that you also went through this phase. You look so genuine when emphasize that it was also hard for you at first. It is comforting and encouraging. Thanks for the videos!
thank you so much for this video! i recently came across your channel and it’s what’s inspired me to start doing body weight training so i can progress into calisthenics. i was in competitive gymnastics from age 6-11 but unfortunately started having knee dislocations which cut that time short. i’ve struggled with staying engaged/challenged/motivated in my training but seeing the passion you have this really resonated for me on a level of making training “fun” again 😅 i was doing handstands earlier today and just got on to see this! thank you again for sharing your journey!
Hey Lucy! I was practicing headstand since months from this video of yours and I just did it for the first time, it felt sooo good . Thank you so much!!!
Excellent video. I have watched many other handstand teaching videos and this is one of the best. It is simple and clear. The comments are interesting and relevant. The progression proposed by Lucy is smart. I think that this video (the split handstand in particular) may finally take me to my goal; free handstand hold.
And remembering we could do this without warming up and without thinking that much when we were little kids... and now what a difference when you get older. Thanks Lucy, 49 and thinking about beggining with calisthenics now.
I want to do handstand before this year gone! Thank you so much for uploading good videos. You are my motivation :) You make my life healthier but also help my English. I think your English is easy to understand for foreigners like me. Love from Korea🥰
So glad that I found your channel. I just began my fitness and weigh loss journey, and your channel is inspirational to me. Looking forward to more videos ❤
You are so nice and explain realistic progressions so well. Thank you! Tip: your audio sounds a bit raspy. Play around with the equalizer or maybe pitch your voice a tiny bit higher.
Can you please make one on how to do a full split for beginners? I am in love with your channel (I only found you a day back). So thank you for being so inspiring.
Came here because I recently remembered doing these very easily when I was a child, tried to do it again, and fell like an ungraceful creature ass first on the floor. Now I'm kind of obsessed with it and want to gain my childhood ability back, thank you for the tutorial !
Ok ok ok.... Please keep going with calisthenics videos for girls!! It's some times that I want to try calisthenics and this is great! Regards from Italy.
Been following Lucy on ig for a while and loving her content. It's my first time doing this and I can't kick up to a handstand 😅 I skipped it and did the chest to wall for now as I find that one easier. I really want to be able to do this (and keep myself committed) so I will check in every week. Excited for this journey 😊😊 Thanks Lucy for the body positive content and being a great motivation! ❤️
I can do everything up until 10:35 🥺 granted it's my 2nd day trying to do a handstand. Just can't get rid of the fear of falling. I also feel unbalanced.. think I have to much lower body fat.
@@emogoesboom well I kept at it for about 2 months and I did improve. However I stopped because I simply got lazy. Lol. I find the hardest thing is to find my balance point. Once I achieve that my body felt weightless.
Amazing! I am a new follower of you on Instagram and am just starting to work on this. looking forward to the strength building aspect of the handstand.
Hi Lucy! I am so inspired by you right now. I've been doing 3 weighted workouts a week for some months now and wanted to try calisthenics. I ordered a pull up bar dip station which I have tried to do today with some of your progressions. My hands were the thing that let me down over my strength 🤦♀️ they are sore even with padded bars! I then moved on to this video and now my wrists are sore too! When you started out did you have sore hands and wrists? My right wrists click when I do full push ups (which I'm up to 10 now yay) so have to have my hand turned out a little so it doesn't "click" each time xx
Great Video thank you working on pullups wright now but want to be able to do an hand stand as well, Staid in pretty good shape till 65 years old but now at 72 years have lost a lot gone from being able to do 60 push ups down to 20, and can't just barely do one pull up, Hope to be doing pull ups and a hand stand come spring.
Lucy, thank you for all the great workout videos! This past two years I've been in and out of fitness and have decided on a goal of building the foundation of pure strength. I want to be able to be flexible and strong within my own body as I have lots of imbalances!! I love practicing handstands, but find myself doing it less due to wrist pain. I would love to see a video on joint care because it seems that in calisthenics you're on your hands a lot. Thank you!
3:27 PM [GOAL] Before this quarantine ends, I want to be able to at least do the wall handstand facing the wall. I will update my training everyday until the first of next month. Day 1: I can't do the wall handstand not facing the wall alone. When someone helped me, I can only hold it for so long. I did the elevated knee holds using a plastic chair for 60 seconds. I'll be practicing headstands too as I can only do it against the wall.
@@luciabalazova697 not so well. I was doing great until a few months ago. I started losing interest in everything and almost dropped out of college. I haven't exercised in a long while and I just lay around on the couch. Lethargy is real
Hi!! I'm a new fan of yours. I left a comment on your weight loss journey video if you wanna know more about my goals and current status. I have to admit though, my goal is to be able to finish the video in 6 months. I struggle with just the warm up part of it right now. Progress though! I would LOVE to have a personal trainer to get me through the tough times and keep me going!

very well explained, thanks. I have a couple of question, isn't callisthenics bad for the wrists? Athlean-X, the famous Jeff Cavalier says that it could stress the wrist and even though it's good to train callisthenics a person must be totally healthy to start it. a little injury will prevent one from doing it. how true is this?
Yes apparently you need to strengthen your wrists gradually, before expecting it to support so much weight and pressure. Thanks for the comment, it led me to look into the topic.
No... I have good shoulder mobility but I have clients who don’t and can do it. Just keep your arms wider on the bar or band and you’ll be able to do it!
Can you explain how do you manage the breath? And do you make the core very tight - I just topple over and just can't breathe. Thanks much for all your videos x
This took me a while to get to grips with (years), but when 'engaging' your core, imagine someone was going to hit you in the stomach and you are going to tense it and also really really squeeze your butt. Thats what you should be trying to do! It takes practice and it took me ages because every time I would breathe I would lose my balance but the key is to breathe while still tensing all the muscle in your butt, legs, core and arms. Try doing it in the face down hollow body holds! I hope this helps! xx
