    **UPDATE UPDATE**
You can stop the charging from the ZGCINE Case to RODE GO by double tapping the battery check button... however this does mean you need to actively check to see if the RODE is done charging before performing this, otherwise it will just keep draining until it's out of batteries.

Thanks for the video . . . I recently just bought the Rode Charging Case . . . and it has the same annoyance. Not being able to turn off the case defeats the entire purpose of purchasing it . . . why else would you buy it other than to safely store your devises in it and ensure they are ready and charged for the next shoot.
Well I found a simple work around, after I got passed my annoyance phase . . . the case is sufficiently deep to allow you to only insert the Rode Go's into the case, without plugging them in . . . so they are just loosely in their cradles. This doesnt engage the charging sequence, so they can not be stored without running the batteries flat . . . genius, I know 🤣🤣

Thank you for this review. This case looks interesting but I'd like some clarity about the battery drain issue. How fast are we talking? It seems like those little LED's should take weeks to drain that case of battery life (if I'm understanding correctly that's what you are saying is the culprit.) Is that what you've found to be the case (no pun intended)...or is this a situation where if you upplug the box from the charger and forget to double tap the battery check button, the box is dead in a day or 2?
    Thanks in advance.

      Hey hey Baby Back Maniac!
Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question!
It was later discovered that if you double tap the button the case, it will stop charging. While not the most elegant solution as you'll actively need to check if the RODE GO is fully charged before turning off the case, it is better than nothing. I thought forever that you'd just hold the button to turn it off, never had I considered to double tap the button.
      Hope this helps!

      Hey hey again Tan G!
You're most welcome! Quick update, you can actually disable the charging after the RODE has charged by double tapping the batt check button. I was trying the "hold down" button method, never occurred to me to double tap it. While it's nice to know, it still means you need to actively check it to know to disable it, so still not the most elegant of designs, but at least the option is there!

I was holding down the battery check button thinking thats how it would shut off, never occurred to me to double tap... Thanks for this. But I'm confused. The Rode Wireless Go ll can only be charged 7 to 9 times.??? Does this mean it will not recharge again? Only asking earnestly. Respectfully.

    • @TLDR_filmmaker

      Hey hey Yard Time FM!
Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question!
No worries, it is a little confusing how to say it. When I said 7-9 times, this means if you only recharged, say the Receive only, you could charge that receiver with the case 7-9 times over before the ZGCINE case ran out of batteries.
Because the RODE GO II has three units, you would be able to charge the entire set a total of up to 3 times before the ZGCINE runs out of battery and needs to be recharged. (So that it can charge the RODE GO II another 3 times)
This does not mean that the entire system dies after only 7-9 charges and that you'd have to buy another RODE GO II set.
Hope this makes sense and helps!

I just remembered something about your film!
This bowling RGB video light that you use there was defective after 1/2 year. I once obtained it from Amazone, but I no longer know from which dealer.
I think the battery will be defective ?!
I have not yet found anyone in Germany who can repair this Video Light for me.
Maybe you have an idea what I can do?

      Hey hey Jürgen!
Thank you so much for checking out this video and asking a question!
Yes, this case also works with the original RODE GO.
If you go through your amazon order history you should be able to locate the dealer that you purchased from. Or if you check your archived emails, you can hopefully find the Amazon order email. As for repairing, I'm not sure as I have not opened mine to see what type of battery cell it uses.
**WARNING CAUTION, THIS IS JUST MY THOUGHTS, I"M NOT SAYING TO DO THIS IF YOU"RE NOT TRAINED TO DO SO**
The person that performs the repair would open the unit carefully to locate the battery to see if it is soldered or plugged into a 2pin. On the battery there would be a part number. Simply search for the part number and you should be able to find a wholesale seller that sells the part. From there you just replace it. This is my best guess of what to do to make a repair on the battery. My Boling P1 is actually still functional with no problems, I actually used it in this video. But I did hear others started having problems after the first initial batch from Boling. I'm not sure what happened with their manufacturing process. :(
      Hope this helps!

      Hey hey Dale!

Not a silly question at all, I go into it in my full RODE GO Review here: ruclips.net/video/3TOldrv9iEE/видео.html
It's all timecoded, you're gonna want to look at the tests when I determine could you use two systems (four total TX) in the same area (Distance Test 4tx 2rx). The results are quite interesting. See if what I test will work for your needs.
TLDR, it works, to ensure you have the best signal, make sure the RX are further apart. If you do get a clip, make sure you always have the internal recording turned on as I show in this review that you lose very little battery life (10 mins)

And the receiver when the battery icon is not blinking. If you have this charging case, check the pinned comment for how to turn off the case charging when its all done.

BUYER BEWARE: I thought this was the best idea, but twice now it’s caused me MASSIVE grief by flattening the receiver over night the day before a LiveStream. I check it is off then in the morning it has flattened the receiver completely. Its ONLY job is to charge the WG2 and recently it caused me massive grief on a large LiveStream. It should have protection against flattening devices. You can have a receiver turned off, put it in the case, it turns on automatically and then charges but when finished charging it stops and overnight the battery in the receiver goes flat… shows over… as a 20+ year veteran photographer/videographer… my advice.. just use the charge cables…

I do talk about this problem in the video, it was my major critique about it as well. ZG-Cine apparently has a new version of this case based off of all my critiques, I have yet to try it, but I do wish the engineers would have had us filmmakers use it before they made a bunch of units that are now essentially worthless compared to the new :(
