This superb new Land Rover reminded me of my last Range Rover, that hi up seating with its commanding view out, the refined ride and whisper quiet cabin. This has to be a contender for the best SUV of 2017
IF they built the seals as well as the LR4, then I can guarantee beyond any doubt that it does float after the wading depth is exceeded. I got my LR4 stuck in some basically "quick sand" on the beach and before the tow truck could get there the tide came in. My LR4 was floating with all 4 wheels off the ground when the tow truck driver pulled it out and not a single drop made it's way into the interior. My insurance still totaled it though :(. I just ordered the Disco 5 and it should be in within the next few months, hopefully I won't make the "discovery" that the seals are just as good.
Good review. I drove one from High Wycombe to Kettering towing my daughter's horsebox and it was an absolute breeze. Best towing vehicle in Europe right now.

@@kenrehill8775 their not unreliable like everybody says. Yes you should expect bigger bills but its not unreliable. Its not as unreliable as a Toyota but its a better car than a Toyota overall. Its a premium car so its going to cost more to fix
@@terrificspokesman7416 I just bought a new discovery commercial, second day of driving (yesterday) I piece of trim from the side of the windscreen flew off! I’m told it’ll be covered ok the warranty🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I wish myself the best of luck.
Great review, not too much but just enough. I have mine here in Germany since May and already put 9800 km on it, driving down to the Riviera and up to Denmark - I'm just amazed by it. Unfortunately with all very new cars, there are some minor "Kinderkrankheiten" as we say in Germany. Little issues, the split tailgate (smaller part to sit on) didn't work anymore after about 6000 km. And the tailgate itself would not open all the way using the remote after about 6500 km. But hey, I don't really care, as all manufacturers have issues with newly released cars. Mine has been in the shop for 2 days now and I miss it so much, should be ready for pickup tomorrow :)

I think you can continue keeping the background music with low volume during the voice-over parts. When you were doing the voice-overs, the background was really quiet, and therefore, switching between music and your voice, was making it a bit difficult for me to follow the content. 2. There were many shots and cuts, when you took the car outside your home. A few of the shots seemed to me as being put together in random. Possibly, a better version would be focusing on exterior, then interior, and then drive. 3. Your voice can have more ups and downs, to become fitter to the content of the review. The excitement that you had and wanted to give us was occasionally not reflected in your intonations. I subscribed to your channel and liked the video straightaway after this. It was a nice effort. Hi John, I actually only had this car for 2 days on a loan, I still recall it being a wonderful vehicle, looks great from all angles except that awkward rear style, interior is brilliant.
@@edwardryan5288 I own one and love it, but it EITHER sits seven and a couple of backpacks, OR five and luggage. Definitely not "seven and their luggage". Sit seven and there is no real luggage space.

In my circle of friends in the last 2 years five of us have had JLR cars, an ftype, 2 f paces and two range rovers, all of which we returned for quality and reliability issues, I think they have a massive quality problem I would avoid anything these people make like the plague.

LR state that they float, they should add - dont try this at home !

To many electrical faults , it was a lottery every morning as to which warnings light stayed on .
Seating for seven AND their luggage? Nope. One or the other unless a roof rack is involved.
