How this version sounds so much fuller and just flat out better than the album version is beyond me. Sure, sometimes some song versions are better than others, but rarely to this degree.
The best advice I ever got was listen to live versions of the songs on The Pod and Pure Guava. Not to say they aren't great albums but, for someone who's trying to get in to Ween, this helped me out a lot.
I only became aware of Ween about 10 years ago when during my band taking a break someone put "Piss up a rope" on the jukebox. I was instantly hooked. They seem to me to be a "you have to see them live" band to really get the total experience.
There are a handful shows I wish I would have gotten to see....and this is in the top 5. Thanks for posting! I've got the CD/DVD always in play...even though their older stuff kicks ass too~
Dammit is Papa Gene ever great singing this one! One of my hands down, all-time favourite Ween songs easily....Deaner's solo is so goddamn sweet! The whole thing is a masterpiece of pop rock!!
@@mr.crowley64 Oh I have! Many, many times...it's different to an extent - I think that my assertion that the song is in fact, "pop rock" is due to the fact that it really only has 3 chords. The live version is very heavy with Deaner's amazing and brilliant solo...the version from Pure Guava is loud punk metal I guess. I love both but much prefer their live take on it.
Only been into the brothers Ween for about a month and I have to say the crowd is behaving seriously underwhelmed for a live masterpiece of this quality
Perhaps the most underrated singer in rock.
And easily one of the greatest Ween (or any other band's) song of all time!!!
Perhaps the most underrated comment on youtube
Yes it is. Yes I would say that.
Band* in rock
Perhaps one of the most underrated bands in music
The BASS
the brownest bass ever
When Deaner starts that fucking hard rock riff at 1:12 I find myself in need of a change of underwear.
This is an incredible song and the difference between this and the album version highlights weens incredible ability to be genre fluid
genius comment
Genre is a social construct
Yeah you're very correct
Bro did you just assume my genre?
God damnnn didn't expect that vocal delivery by Gener!!!!!
I know!! neither did i!!
Ive heard this version so many times and I haven’t listened in a while and boy it just got me haha fuuuuuuuuuuuckkkkk
thats what happens when you touch the tooter
my favorite version of this song, fucking beautiful.
Same here.
Aaron is one of the best vocalists of all time
Every member of this band kicks balls

Yeah, and I'm probably 2,000 of those views.
11 thumbs down? Why are you watching this if you don't like ween?
And how could you dislike THIS???
that bass tone is so dirty goddamn
Very brown.
Gener's Mick Jagger poses are on point here

Claude Coleman on drums.
Such a beautiful love song.
Shout out to Claude! Amazing drummer and fun to watch.
Geners having so much fun with this one. Love to see it

Ween live in general tends to be superior to the albums
Paintin the Town Brown is a decent collection of live shit from their earlier years
I’ve been listening to ween since 1997 and I literally never get sick of it for a moment
I love Gener's howl at 1:43 ❤️❤️❤️
01:02 Wouldcha look at that - Gene transformed into Mick Jagger there for a second. Fascinating!
This version sounds like an actual song!
Deaner's tone is on point
Fire.

The louder this song is played, the better it sounds. Deaner's "rock-riff" solo sounds to me like it could be what God sounds like when God speaks.
ONTARIO TO COLORADO FEB 2016!! Road trip.. See you soon fellas
What a great show
Eron Stroud it was amazing 3 shows
Maybe we all saw each other.
the loveliest live version of this song
There are a handful shows I wish I would have gotten to see....and this is in the top 5. Thanks for posting! I've got the CD/DVD always in play...even though their older stuff kicks ass too~

It’s great, but if you think it’s pop rock listen to the studio version

@@wangson same, I have to be in the right mood to enjoy all of pure guava . praise Boognish!
so good on every level -- to be wistful and pissed and funny at the same time, and the wildly varied musicianship. They really can express anything.
Dam. Gener kills it on the vocals. So much soul
I am thunderstruck...
No problem!
One of the sickest rifts of all time! Love this version

Like for real though. The album version of this is ghastly but this hits hard and he sounds great live
The album version slaps
Sounds a lot like El Scorcho... Coincidence?
+YYYxEEE El Scorcho sounds a lot like Touch My Tooter
Weezer ripped off Ween lol
Rory has it right...
Touch My Tooter released 1992
El Scorcho released 1996
