Whats worse is pet owners that stand by and watch their pets freak out. I have had 3 cats and a dog in my lifetime. They never acted out at the vet because I did my job as protector. I pet them and talked to them in a soothing voice so they could stay calm. Going to the vet can be a scary experience for animals.

I remember the times I took my dear old buddy Spyder to the vets for shots and once for a dog wound. He would ride on my lap the whole way; never even thought of a carrier 'cause he'd usually just jump into the car if he thought he was getting a ride.Little bugger would barely even blink through all of this. He was the most unbelievably laid-back little dude anyone ever saw.
My cat Peggy was so laid back we never had a cat carrier for her, we used to go to the vet and in the waiting room were loads of dogs, I just shoved her inside my coat until it was our turn. Got her jabs without any issue and the vet said she needed her teeth cleaned and started pulling plaque tooths off her teeth without any problem with his bare hands (edit fingernail).....
... how do either of you know?... That said, I'm inclined to agree that they at least have a sense of the fact that it isn't malicious... they're just really dumb and selfish animals 😂 (until they're smart and sweet again)
it is not the cat, in my opinion the vet assistance is Dummy, she's afraid and that makes the animal suffer even more. Also cats r extremely difficult to hold...
It can be stressful. But I've also had to handle fractious cats like this one in the video at my old vet clinic job. I also used leather gloves and a thick towel/blanket to handle them, and it wasn't too bad. Eventually you get used to it.

Dude, my late bombay, Lucky was so chill at the vet. God rest his soul. He definitely didn't like it and he would meow and complain, but he would just take it on the chin.
Talk to your vet about sedatives, mix it with their food about an hour before the appointment. let it kick in helped with my cats. but each cat made need it accordingly like my one cat. needs maybe 2 than my other cat. so you gotta find out how your cat reacts to it first.

14 years ago I brought my female Bengal to the vet for surgery. When I picked her up he said “Don’t ever bring this cat back... she’s insane”. Best pet I ever had. Loving and loyal.

I raised a baby cat since her birth and she lived with me her entire life and ended up being as lovely as a puppy. she would come if I called her, she would always follow even when she wasn't a baby anymore. it really depends on how they live, not all cats are violent, no way.

Many years ago, I worked for a vet who had an elderly lady that cared for stray cats. She had a mean old tomcat that weighed about 22#, and looked like he was on steroids. This tomcat had no fat, was all scarred up, with a huge , muscular neck. He was mean as hell, and even the pitbulls in the clinic were afraid of him. One night, someone broke into her house....she threw this tomcat on the guy's face, and the cat bit and ripped him up! Guy ran out of the house screaming, with the cat attached to his face like Alien. Cops caught him at the hospital. He had to get tetanus and rabies shots . The elderly lady and the tomcat took care of each other for many years. The neighbors called him the "devil cat". No one ever messed with her after that.

Reminds me of my brother’s cat. Every once in a while the cat would get a bit frisky and spoil for a fight. My brother would get all his motor bike leathers on, leather gauntlets and full face crash hat. Then there was a battle royal. 5 minutes later they would both be exhausted and snuggle up on the sofa, the best of friends. His cat(Suzuki) absolutely loved the opportunity to get very violent. He was a big cat. I am sure it kept them both sane and was certainly a spectacle for me.
I'd still be angry too, I feel this cats pain. This cat is the equivalent to me getting a shot at my doctors. I'm almost 16 and still have to squeeze my momma's or whoever choose to come with me's hand because if I don't I'll start to punch and kick and stuff. I don't want to or chose to, it's just my fight-or-flight mode kicks in bad.
My cats behaved like this at the vet because they were scared, but once we left and they were back on familiar ground, they were back to being snuggly and demanding snacks.

I raised a baby cat since her birth and she lived with me her entire life and ended up being as lovely as a puppy. she would come if I called her, she would always follow even when she wasn't a baby anymore. it really depends on how they live, not all cats are violent, no way.
My cat scratches and bites me regularly. She's a bitch but she is my cat and I love her. Also she's a bitch.

Reminds me of my brother’s cat. Every once in a while the cat would get a bit frisky and spoil for a fight. My brother would get all his motor bike leathers on, leather gauntlets and full face crash hat. Then there was a battle royal. 5 minutes later they would both be exhausted and snuggle up on the sofa, the best of friends. His cat(Suzuki) absolutely loved the opportunity to get very violent. He was a big cat. I am sure it kept them both sane and was certainly a spectacle for me.
