For my husband's family reunion this summer I created a trivia game based on ancestors stories for the adults to learn about their ancestors. Everyone loved it! I also made a card deck with pictures and information about their ancestors for the grandkids to play a memory game at the reunion. I scanned and uploaded many pictures and documents for my husband's family and my own. Located the burial site of my husband's grandmother. She had no gravestone so the remaining relatives pitched in to buy one and it was placed on her grave a year ago.

This year Ancestry DNA found my biological father and a whole new family. My personal achievement is that I learned how to use different tools and methods, including AI to bring me close to identifying who my biological fathers father was. Very proud of my spreadsheets!

I've finally gathered & color-enhanced (probably) all the digital photos to print for my "ancestor wall"... that is currently full of blank photo frames.
I can't wait to try out the photo identification feature in Ancestry!

I am the oldest of my siblings. I have six younger siblings. One of my brothers did the Ancestry DNA test before I did. I encouraged my son and daughter to do the Ancestry DNA test when I did. For my Birthday this year one of my sisters asked what I would like. And I used that as a reason to ask her if she would like to do the Ancestry DNA test so that I had another sibling to compare. My sister, my brother-in-law and two of my nephews recently completed the Ancestry DNA test this year. It has been interesting to see how it varies of how much DNA we all share.

Amazing discoveries this year. Thrilling discovery of great uncle's 10 letters from the front in world war I plus articles about him singing and playing soccer. He was presume missing at the Battle of the Somme. Second is my great great uncle had a head injury and was threatening his family and was suicidal and in an insane asylum three times and died there in 1931. I'm waiting for his medical records from the archives.

I did the tree rating on the numerous trees I’ve been diligently working on. The majority of them are above 90. A couple are at 88. I’m glad to know that my hard working is producing good trees.

The past year I have joined our local Genealogy Assn., broken down two brick walls through both DNA and doing genealogy, extended sideways several parts of my tree and written a story about my great grandfather and his life from Scotland to New Zealand and his life there and here. I have discovered AI to help write a draft.

I went to Chattanooga, my hometown, and got a bunch of more recent deeds from the register of deeds (not available on line) and the library where I found some great articles about my grandmother’s family’s early days in Chattanooga. Not available on line.

Checked off a city that I wanted to visit!, My maternal grandfather's family was County Cork to Peterborough/Coburg, Ontario before uprooting the family to Rochester, NY. Now, I only have two more cities to visit in terms of direct lineage.

I love the idea of error reports. The idea of scoring, I hope its weighted towards actual correct evidence, There are trees that are wrong but that get coppied over and over about close family and Im not going to change my tree of people I have direct knowledge of to fit the bulk of wrong trees.

Hello Crista. Do you think that you guys will ever get a feature that tells us which side of our matches family we are related to? I have 2 1st cousin matches that I can't connect. I know they are on my father's side, but I don't know if we're related through their mom or Dad's side. Thank you.

No new update for early December 2024 22 more days left this year. New update won’t be until sometime 2025. I still want to another DNA test but with 24&Mr or MyHeritage or do Ancestdy again. 1% Norway and 4% Sweden is wrong,20% Wales is wrong with only 1 1xGG from Wales,16% England ia wrong too when I have 2 1xGG and 2 3xGG as well),no Apain when I have 1 6xGG from Spain,3% Ireland is wrong from 8% to 3%,45% Scorland is wrong if my aint had 45% too(Ukster Sforzesco and English is also in my DNA besides Scottish),Hermanic went bye bye when I have German Prussian Belgium and Durch ancestors,11% France from my Arcadian side with Spanish and native add mixture,no native when zi have distant indigenous ancestors(also I have Jahuenot ancestors) and no Norwegian or Swedish ancestors nor Danish. My mysterious Grest hrandpa was possibly Scoreish/Scorch z Irish/Irish? He was possibly born in Scotland or not as the origins estimates are inaccurate and incorrect for me! I obsess about the numbers a lot. As I think the numbers for my grandparents are wrong too. I want to do 23&Me or MyHeritage or a comlany that is more accurate than Andestry from a real genealogist.
