I have had my twin blocks for 3 months now!! Once your voice has gotten better, it becomes a normal thing in your life, I use to be shy but now I have gotten use to taking them in a out even in public/ in front of someone. I got them adjusted last week, it took a while for me to adjust to the bottom ones since they clamp them tighter , I have turned the expander once already and it will be my second one today ! The average of having them is 9-12 months however my orthodontist said since I’m wearing them so well I can get them off in February ( only having them for 5 months ) , once they are gone I’m getting fixed braces Times I’m wearing them to get the process to go faster : - wear them all night - most of the day in school - only take them out for food and sports If you’re getting yours soon or have them, don’t worry they will get better and you will do amazing!
Hi I'm wearing mine since 6 months 24/7. My speech has improved al lot but is not perfect. The beginning was a bit complicated but now I`m used and I do not care much anymore. Dentist instructed me to eat with them as it expedite the whole process and correct better the jaw position. Eating with them at the beginning was very challenging and took longer than normal. The lower one was not very stable . After the first dentist check, I got it modified (basically the acrylic was extended to the back molar) and now is ok. I still cannot bite hard food but with soft food is ok and I chew all food. I do have expansion screws for the upper and lower plus front metal in both I guess you do too. I brush it every main meal and twice a week I use efferdent for extra cleaning. I still need to keep it other ~5 months and after that I should get regular braces. I turn the screw half a turn every two days, this helps for eating because it clips tight.
I just got my twin blocks yesterday and even though my doctor said my speech would return to almost normal after a couple days, I'm really worried about how I'll sound at college on Tuesday! Did speaking get easier for you, and how did it sound?
23 hrs till I get mine eek I am nervous because my dental refuse to do scaling and polishing for me because of rona and if that would affect my treatment 😐 Update :I got them yesterday at 5:30 UK Times and my teeth hurts so bad and I feel like my teeth is tighten so hard
So I got my twin blocks a year ago and when I got them I really hated them because they hurt so much and after that like after 2 months i woke up at 3:00 a.m. and it is hurted my jaw so much then I removed them in the middle of the night and put them on the dinner table so afraid that my wrapped in a tissue paper so then my dad thought they trash and he threw it and now I got them again and im upset that if i would wea them properly before i would have perfert teeth
Before i got i my braces, people were like" oh you have crooked teeth, so bad, don't smile in photos.... and after i got braces, they are like " why do you get braces? Your teeth was perfect" WTH Btw i got my braces last week... i feel soooo happyyyyy
