Wait, Simple Act of Giving Up was from the Ska years? I totally thought that song was from 2009, that's when the Spotify release was at least.
Regardless, I have to say massive props to Spencer for keeping this band alive through several band member exodus'. Like, half the band left between LCTMA and The Burning, then everyone except him left, then he basically absorbed Remember Tomorrow under the IX name, then over the next several albums members progressively moved on to other bands and by TSS they were a trio, and then the other two left, and then he had to construct a whole new lineup for Horrorwood. And through it all, the band has never had an immediate drastic change as a result. That's what really astounds me, how smooth the progression from ska to metal was over all these albums. No two consecutive albums sound drastically different, but comparing the very first to the very last, and it's two completely different bands.
