Glad you called out the love for UH Russ. Similar to you, I fell hard for Marisa Tomei in this movie years ago. My wife even gets somewhat jealous when I put it on 🤣 I tell people about how it’s criminally underrated but I also think if they don’t “get it”, that’s cool. Tony Bill’s commentary is also really genuine and I think he really brought out the best in Slater and Tomei.

EDIT: Jokes aside, I stand by what I said in the stream, and do think it is a very sweet film. It saddens me once in a while when I think on how those were the movies I fell in love with. The movies that felt relatable, real but not overbearlingly cynical... Human... I miss movies about humans.

Not everything has to be about super heroes, a supernatural event, horror, or tie in to true crime. If anything, these types of movies make you feel better about the world because it's so relatable and the acting is TOP NOTCH. I wish there was more low budge, great actor movies like this. New movies like "Untamed Heart" could actually save cinema!
I pre-ordered nightmare on Elm Street . Last week. And I pre-ordered the terminator three days ago. I love to see the artwork but couldn’t take any chance they would sell out. So fingers crossed. Artwork will be good 🤞🏻
Desperado is by far the best of the trilogy. But I think you’ll enjoy it even more if you watch it immediately after watching El Mariachi. It’s similar to watching Evil Dead 2 after ED1.
Arrow I will be getting Silence of the Lambs and keeping my Criterion blu. Love when a different label upgrades criterion blus. Also getting Heathers and Desperado. Nothing from Shout.
As far as The Terminator 4k goes i wish i could be more excited. Because im so used to studio releases ruining the picture through a botched hdr grade or a bad restoration. Thankfully i have the old dvd and the blu rays to enjoy it if it comes out sucking... :)
I can't lie... this is the one I'm genuinely shocked Matt hasn't seen. Not only is it classic, it was a cable mainstay when him and I were coming up... Easily my favorite Winona Ryder movie, and she's got classics.
Really enjoy the content and banter. Just a quick suggestion. The way you display relevant chat comments, in real time, is great. You have an involved and dynamic audience. Would there be a way for Russ and Matt to also see the comments when you display them? The flow is a bit odd when you've displayed several relevant comments and then Matt asks what the viewers are saying. Thanks!
Just watched Fear City - 101 films here in the UK did a great looking limited edition blu with a slip case. Bought on Russ’ recommendation, and saw Kings of New York’s Arrow 4K and wanted to get into more Ferrera. Great film - feels like it may be the most 80s movie ever (in a good way)
@scothall5951 Ahh... this classic debate... My thoughts were always that Cox's Lecter isn't as involved in the Manhunter movie as Hopkins was in Silence... Hopkins is easily the more iconic and notable performance, but I understand if someone prefers the less over the top Cox version. Movie-wise, they're apples and oranges. Silence is the better film film, but Mann gave us a more fun MOVIE. Both great, and no wrong answer in my book, unless you start saying Red Dragon or Hannibal are in the same league as Silence or Manhunter (you'd be insane).

And I suppose both versions of Lecter, works for their respected films. Found Cox just more realistic and more unsettling, even in the few scenes we get. Also William Petersen gave 2 knockout back to back performances, with To Live and Die in LA and Manhunter, underrated during this time
@@williamdriver1959 I didn't intend to make a comparison between the two in terms of quality, more in terms of personality. Growing up, as big as Terminator was to me, Nightmare was a juggernaut... so while both will be purchased, as of now, Nightmare takes precedence in terms of preordering.

Excellent release, butI was incredibly insulted by the addition of Sam Moore’s laughable article where he seems to accept Buffalo Bill into the LGBT community, writes about him as a sympathetic character and struggles over whether or not to call him ‘they/them’. Crazy addition to the set.
Peter Jacksons King Kong is terrible. The first and only time in my life that i hated Jack Black in a movie. And the effects, how they did such a bad job. They nailed everything in LOTR trilogy in the effects part, but then they f... up in this one, the dinossaurs running is terrible.
Seriously... and it's beyond my taste at this point. It's been a quarter century of mid at best from Reynolds, I'm begging Hollywood to find a new bland white guy who isn't named Chris or Ryan.
@scothall5951 I'm with you on Gosling also... as a die-hard Shane Black fan, I was in theaters opening weekend for Nice Guys, but Gosling is definitely tap dancing around landmines in my head also. I think with him, it's more of a problem of no truly good acting roles exist in mainstream movies anymore. His smugness can be concealed, or played into like Barbie. With Reynolds, it's like he enjoys being a sell-out, soulless Mint Mobile spokesman.

The Funeral scene in Heathers will never fail to not make me cry with laughter. Definitely upgraded this.
We have pre ordered it here in the UK our main retail physical store HMV has it up for pre order.
"Untamed Heart" is a Kino release on Blu-Ray BTW. We need that 4K upgrade, STAT!

I think Once Upon A Time in Mexico was shot on very early HD cameras so it'll never look any better than 1080p.
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure 4K only has 2-channel stereo sound I believe. So some people don't like it.

Films that need a 4k release. Boogie nights, there will be blood, the master, gone with the wind, Kelly’s hero’s, the holy mountain, das boot.
I can understand, to a degree, the delays or hesitance on most of the titles you mention, but Gone with the Wind not having a 4K is strange.

I don't completely disagree with Russ on Death to Smoochy, but Matilda is an all-time classic IMO, and he should watch it.
I've always heard good things, and as I said, I think his style is perfect for kids films with an edge.

You guys must be high, theres no way Poltergeist 3 is better then 2, in fact Poltergeist 3 is one of the worst movies of all time.
