We have blood sausage here in the UK and it is as you discovered, surprisingly sweet. I imagine that you both used an entire tube of toothpaste and several metres of dental floss after eating the scorpion!
I'm not sure scorpion is Thai food. It's kinda come from China actually. But all other bugs aside from scorpion and centipede, it's common bugs we ate in Thailand. By the way, You are so brave on eating that scorpion!
Do you know the Thai word for Bangkok, "Krung-Thep" means the city of angel? Krung means "city" and Thep means "Angel". I think it's like "Los Angeles" which means the city of Angels too.

12:29 it's not cockroach Nooo... Thai people call it แมงดานา (Meng Da Na). I understand that the English call it a pimp. It is a type of aquatic insect. You can search Its name can be found on the wiki by searching for "Lethocerus indicus". Normally, Thai people use it as an ingredient in some foods. Because of its strong smell And its eggs taste good, so some people eat them. If you don't like strong-smelling things, you shouldn't try it.
Nobody eat cockroach in Thailand, just because you know what kind of bug and find it look like cockroach and btw the scorpion is for the tourist, the local don’t eat it.
I’m Thai, I think most of Thais don’t eat scorpions and I heard that it’s spread from our frontier that they eat scorpions. There’s always in tourist area, it sounds like the exotic foods for travelers who want to see something not in common. 😅
@@DPP- yes, 10-20 years ago you couldn't find it easily because there were no insect vendors here in Bangkok they just only sell in the Construction Camp sites for the labours from Esan and also the labours from the neighbors countries. And after that time they started to sell in the tourist areas like Khaosarn Rd and after tons of foreigners that came to Thailand like 40+ millions just per year before covid and most of them started to challenge and many famous youtuber also come to review and that's made these insects a must-do challenge in Thailand. And it's really crazy because nowadays those freezing long worms price per kilo in Bangkok are about 10x times more expensive than a normal pork per kilo.
@@onalonan there were lots of insect street vendors around Sanam Luang (Royal Plaza)more than 30 years ago, but they didn’t sell scorpions. I do about construction in Bangkok since that time so I know how hard for my labours to find their snack my friend. My Esan employees even told me that in Esan at the old days people there had to find those bugs to eat instead of meat or pork because many people in Esan have no money to buy the foods and he even told me that the bugs that people sold here in Bangkok are much more expensive than a normal foods they could find to eat but nowaday they already have some money(he's an engineer in my company) and he told me sometimes he just felt wanted to eat those bugs just to feed their nostalgia feeling.
@@onalonan bamboo worm is only snacks for us, I was born from the north but grown up in BKK, never eaten grasshopper, before entrance to university I studied in central Bkk, and never had met street vendors in central BKK except in school area.
