  • (Rated G for General audiences, meaning people of all ages can watch it. Children can enjoy the funny story while adults can enjoy this for nostalgia or for the video's production values.)
    Surprise! I wasn't expecting to reach 4,000 subs while making this, but here we are! And with new models! Now before I go on I must say this:
    THESE RWS MODELS ARE NOT GETTING RELEASED BY THEIR CREATOR.
    THEY ARE NOT BEING RELEASED WHATSOEVER. THEY ARE (Dare I say the words?) PRIVATE MODELS.
    Ok, there we go. Needed to get this one off my chest before the comments and premiere chats go wild over them. I really shouldn't, but there it is.
    I must however thank Knuck for supplying not only the RWS models used here (Which are still being worked on), but the the damaged version of the Duck model seen here, as I knew if I didn't have it, the scenes inside the barber shop wouldn't have been easy to do without the faces with shaving cream on them. Thank you Knuck.
    (Stay tuned for the 31st of this month for another upcoming video.....)
    EDIT: Missing credit: The Signal Works for the red tank engine seen in the long shot of the clean up of the crash. (It's actually a RWS version of Stanley from The Great Discovery.)

    This is the best version of A Close Shave I have ever seen! I like the little TVS references that have been thrown in and being mixed with the astounding RWS accurate items and the other creative liberties like how Duck did help a foreign engine up the hill but was chased by Henry's train. I always thought the it was the foreign engine who lost their train.

I love especially how weighted the chase sequence is; you easily could have exaggerated the speed for dramatic effect, but you cling the feeling right back to the point that these are heavily-laden goods trucks with a momentum that is fast but controlled by a sense of weight; exactly as it should be in accordance with physics. An epic retelling of an epic story. I however have some notes that would have made it even better that you could try next time. Firstly the audio mix, sound effects throughout where way too loud drowning out the voices making them sound muffled. The aspect ratio was great as it made it feel more epic, but next time if you export the video with the resolution of that frame it would playback without the black bars on RUclips which would make for a better viewing experience. Also perhaps the pacing at the end was bit too slow imo. Besides those things I really enjoyed it, the way you used the route, staging, camera angles and music choices where excellent! I can't wait to see whatever comes next from you.

    • @4fproductions637
      @4fproductions637  3 года назад +3

      Ah, thank you Curtis. I'll take the audio mix into account on my next video. As for the aspect ratio, the bars were actually added in-game using ReShade, and the purpose of them was to try and match the look of the Cinemascope films from the late 50s and early-late 60s. (David Lean's films from that era come to mind here.)

    Want to know EXACTLY the reasons why I think this is a MUCH better "Engines crashes into the side of a building" episode than Thomas Comes to Breakfast?
    1. Unlike in that episode, the barber eventually learned that what happened wasn't Duck's fault. And to those who are asking, what happened in Thomas Comes to Breakfast wasn't really Thomas's fault either, it was the cleaner's fault.
    2. The barber had a better reason to be mad. Because if an engine crashes into the side of a building, the ones with you being frightened is a MUCH bigger worry than your breakfast being ruined.
