You’ve never lived with the kind of men that cause the issues. Imagine you go to use a hand soap and see pubes on it, are you saying that after finding out your dad has used it in his crack, you’d tell people they were silly? Maybe think of scenarios before you try to patronise because you come across as very young and lacking experience otherwise. 🙌🏻

If you already do have the pump bottles or soap squirt bottles, it is easy to refill them with shaved bar soap and water. I make up a bunch of bottles at once because I have several places I need them, and I like to always have ready refills. Before use, they need to sit for about 24hrs in a warm place, then shake gently. But it is a great way to recycle what you already have and also removes most of the repetitive touching.

If you rinse the soap first (the top coat slides off) and really hand wash WITH FRICTION guys, you’re golden. Soap isn’t like hand sanitizer. You have to work it and rub you hands.

I don’t like soap bars because they wind up as mush when barely used at my house (I know, store them better, but the kids 😵‍💫.) I love this grated soap idea! I wonder if I could make this work in the shower somehow, without it getting clumpy….

This feels way more disgusting than just a bar. Like what about if they got their hands wet first? Then they’re dripping a bunch of germ water into your batch of soap.

The good thing I see in this is you don't get that "soap goo" on the soap dish AND yes it can seem/feel/ be cleaner since when soap is held with dirty hands it can leave that on it and I've seen that before and it's disgusting to touch. This idea is Wayyyyyyyyy better especially for guest. 👍😊

You can also make your own hand wash by putting those soap shavings in hot water and adding essential oil.

There was actually a prototype soap dispenser i saw online years ago that looked like one of those wall mount push button liquid soap ones, but it used solid soap blocks and had a built in grater to dispense fresh shavings instead.
I thought it looked like such a great idea but idk if they ever made a commercial product

Skin cells are left on soap bars and the moisture in the soap dish grows bacteria. She’s right to think of an alternative for guests.

You can dissolve the shaved soap in hot water and put it into a pump. One bar will last a year

I put my soap remnants into an up-cycled glass pump container, poor boiling water (hot water from the tap) and let it sit a bit till it cools down, then I shake it up and boom, liquid hand soap. Just have to shake it again every once in a while, but it suds, and washes like soap should, I just try not to either add too much water, making it too liquid, or too much soap, making it chunky.

Does soap get dirty? Yes if you just rub it with some dirty hands then leave it there wet. Dust in air can stick on it too. It doesn't stay dirty if you just run it under water then maybe leave it on the soap tray with a bit of angle so water can drain away quick, it dries and stays clean🫧 I put a lil popsicle stick under one side the soap tray so the water drains away like that

I'm trying to find a refill for my kitchen soap (method brand, aluminum gel soap, they literally don't make gel soap anymore just foam in completely plastic bottles 😭)
and it just made me sick checking walmart! There was NOTHING! the meyers is my favorite option, if i can find s deal on it. WHYYY can't we use aluminum more?????
I use locally made goat milk bar soap, in the bathroom. Just got some new yesterday! Like to get some from different shops everytime, different scents etc. But I'm pretty upset about this soap refill dilemma!
