Hopefully vekoma can sell this concept to another park, I'm quite curious how their first hyper coaster will be since this really doesn't look half bad. And they are making some really kickass coasters recently.
As much as I prefer this layout, Intamin was always destined to win. Even with Vekomas new ride this year, Intamin has 2 of the 5 gigas and a much better history for building big. Hope this Vekoma makes it out someday still!
Same here. One thing that gives me hope is that there's a model name on the bottom of the screen at the start of the video (Skydash.) It's possible that Vekoma understood they were unlikely to win the contest and used it as a way to market their hyper model. It's possible that Skydash refers to this coaster as a standard model (like Bermuda Blitz and Firestorm) that any park can pick up if they want to. Let's hope a park decides to pick this up in the near future, given the great reception of the Bermuda Blitz model.
The Vekoma design was sent to Gulag and replaced by an Intamin Mega Coaster, but this looks pretty cool, I'd like to see a park get a Vekoma Hyper one day.
When Kings Dominion decides to get a hyper coaster, they should choose this one! I think it could pair up nicely with I305, in the same way that Fury paired up with Intimidator.
I'm shocked they didn't pick this one because of there great relationship with Vekoma, and this layout does look better than the intamin one, but I'm not upset about it because I've rode several Intamin Hyper Coasters and they are all insane and I think the 2018 Intamin Hyper Coasters will probably be the best one out of all of them
Dalton Wike well, they let the enthusiasts choose, and the enthusiasts were always going to choose Intamin. I'd have been very suprised if Vekoma had won.
Their current restraint system is basically an overhead lap bar with a vest attached, it shouldn't be too hard to convert it to a full lap bar system (and probably would've been the case with this ride). One thing to note about Vekoma is that they are flexible with their designs to meet the customer's standard. That's why Disney picked them up for most of their coasters.
@@Houtarou_Hyouka_Unforgiven The STC model has no vests, it´s lap bar only. At least that´s the case with the one at Tripsdrill, might have been a request by the park, but to me it feels like it will be the default for the STC model.
Using the charts for speed, height, and G force that vekoma provided I was able to use pixel measurements to calculate it’s stats Vekoma Skydash Mk 1340 Length 4521’ Height 212’ tall 202’ drop Speed 74.8 mph Max 3.95g Min -1.03g
I'm late on this, but it's not completely RIP. Note at the start of the video, the ride looks to have a model name (MC 1340 SKYDASH, probably just Skydash for short) much like the Bermuda Blitz and Firestorm models. The real insane thing is that I think Vekoma designed this thing with the intention of it being cloneable.
This is late, but even though I am a big Intamin fan, this layout was better. I do prefer the dive loop effect on the intamin over the immelmann effect on this one but the return run was much better; this had 2 massive ejector hills while the intamin had a lame asf floater hill. This looked to have a much more forceful spaghetti bowl section too.
@@theintamindude I don't know about the dive loop on the inatmin being better than the weird reverse incline dive loop on the vekoma. I've done DC Rivals and the incline dive loop on that is insane. I can't imagine how much better it would be in reverse being whipped through the twist at the top. Also I have to agree the return run on Hyperion is such a let down. The first drop up until the dive loop is incredible but then the "floater hill" (if you can even call it that) onward is just meh and borderline boring.
The intamin got chosen because vekoma has a bad rap to it and everyone thinks of rough rides when they think of vekoma. However those people don’t know that this is the new vekoma track and it’s actually doesn’t simulate leg amputation
Wave Man Mike Lol it won't they don't use the arrow track anymore. Vekoma just stepped up there game bij spending money in making good coaster concepts as they did with Lech, formula 1 and firestorm.
Hyperion might be one of the Intamin coasters that lacks much force (like a B&M), but most Intamin coasters are far from forceless. Just ride Intimidator 305, Skyrush, Maverick, ect.
The layout looks a lot better than the intamin, although irl, the intamin is probably a lot smoother etc. I suppose they made the right decision by going with intamin

It would be great for CGA’s 2020 hyper
Miles Campbell if they get it.
I like the new vekoma, their latest coasters look amazing!
The Vekoma design was sent to Gulag and replaced by an Intamin Mega Coaster, but this looks pretty cool, I'd like to see a park get a Vekoma Hyper one day.
WOW, Vekoma ain't messing around no more LOL
vekoma makes an comeback in the industry

Mystic Mamba They need a graceful floater airtime hyper. After all they will already have two intense rides (i305 and Twisted Timbers).
I think they should get something that is really focused on air time and not get that hyper twister coaster crap
@@LCucu it can't be a b&m because Apollo's Chariot is just an hour away.
PG not necessarily
@@peterg644 I kinda think they need a invert
Vekoma was better
Yes

Christy S they let park guests vote. The intamin one was pretty lackluster and short. This one had a kickass layout and much better layout.
Could I use this video to do a review how Hyeprion should look at first?
2:10 it clips through a support beam
Oh that‘s why they chose intamin, this vekoma coaster would have been just too dangerous!
I think a smaller version of this will be a good fit at a park like Elitch Gardens or Frontier City
I think the vekoma one looks a little bit better than the intamin
the sheer amount of airtime!!!!!
the pacing!!!!
Could I use this in a video I'm working on? I'll give full credit and everything
Go for it!
Oh man this Layout is so much better than the Intamin that will build next year... I hope that Vekoma will design Lab Bars for their new coasters...

Sir Real and they still do lol. Even on older rides that need reprofiling(i.e. WDW Space Mountain)
@@crazywolf889 with family invert it's just has a over shoulder lap bar

Im still sad we didn’t get this version. I voted for it
Bin on hyperion today and it was great but something was missing , the vekoma one looks better tbh
I wish they chose this over the Intamin.
i Coasters agreed

Music is by far the best you could have in this video.
Yea that’s right Vekoma isn’t just SLC’s and Boomerangs.
CGA -needs- this.
Chris Valleser OMG IKR THIS WOULD BE PERFECT FOR THE 2020 Hyper
That turnaround looks an awful lot like Zadras 🧐
Name software where this simulation is create?
No Limits 2
The second half looks very intense like Lech coaster's layout. Might be a bit overwhelming for the GP I guess....?
Wish Vekoma had won!
Someone else gets to build this now
they're not building both coasters. They're allowing people to vote for which one they like more on their Facebook
Thanks, the description has been corrected.
Coaster Rider If they built both I'd buy a plane ticket right now
The intamin got chosen because vekoma has a bad rap to it and everyone thinks of rough rides when they think of vekoma. However those people don’t know that this is the new vekoma track and it’s actually doesn’t simulate leg amputation
Even so, Vekoma has built the second and third best coaster in the park.
For what it's worth 🙃
Luckily Intamin built Hyperion. This looks very tame and uninteresting.
Kings Dominion should get this.
this looks like a B&M with a flat triangle as the cross tie.
I swear the musick goes do do do do huss
as in huss top spin
this looks like a potential top10 in the world
hyperion barely cracks the top 100
your iq cracks the top spot for being the lowest in history
They lose because the GP thinks its painfull and junk but the new track of vekoma is super smooth
bitch the gp doesnt even know what vekoma is
Harry true
And also alot of enthusiasts
I wish they chose this layout, but it had the tunnel, water splash and same amazing stats
If they chose this one it would have been rough by 2019
Wave Man Mike Lol it won't they don't use the arrow track anymore. Vekoma just stepped up there game bij spending money in making good coaster concepts as they did with Lech, formula 1 and firestorm.
how do u get the track?
This is the actual animation from Vekoma.
this looks like super lech
Would’ve been the better choice
This music 😓
Name this megacoaster iż HYPERION
Lol in 2021 is Hyperion
Best hyper ever
RIP, the world just got another forceless and massively overrated Intamin
Hyperion might be one of the Intamin coasters that lacks much force (like a B&M), but most Intamin coasters are far from forceless. Just ride Intimidator 305, Skyrush, Maverick, ect.
Hyperion only has one underwhelming element. Forceless and Intamin don't go together
Better than Intamin
The layout looks a lot better than the intamin, although irl, the intamin is probably a lot smoother etc. I suppose they made the right decision by going with intamin
New Vekomas are very smooth actually. I've heard it's comparable to a B&M
AnimalzyNL No i've ridden Formula 1 and Lech and they really are so smooth, smoother than many B&M en Intamins I've ridden.
Yeah, and now everybody hating the gp at energylandia
The new Intamin is rough 😂
Hyperion is not smooth at all 🙈
Better than Intamin
