"Sin holds a person captive." Today, as Pastor Sumrall reads from Proverbs 5:21-23, he teaches us that a lack of self-control causes sin to take a hold of us, allowing us to have the wrong perception that God is controlling. His salvation gave us freedom and new life, making us a new creation.
Proverbs 5:21-22 NLT
For the Lord sees clearly what a man does,
examining every path he takes.
An evil man is held captive by his own sins; they are ropes that catch and hold him.
Proverbs 5:23 NLT
He will die for lack of self-control;
he will be lost because of his great foolishness.
