This channel continues to be one of the most scenic on RUclips, insanely beautiful. Well shit, and entertaining. As a Hiker in the northeast US, the terrain is far different and less dramatic than the usual M-A spots. I hike vicariously through you.
Nice footage! For those who don't know the layout ... 4:12 is a side view of the Jungfrau which I first saw from Wengen in Summer 1969, and after watching Neil Armstrong on early morning July 20, the alpenglow on the Jungfrau was unforgettable...4:15 shows the Eiger, with the North Face mostly hidden facing left... and at 4:48 straight ahead of the climber, the highest peak is the Finsteraarhorn, hard to see from the valleys below the clouds, but the highest peak in the Bernese Alps at 4274m.
You guys really keep the summit inspiration strong in me. Thank you so much for sharing all of your adventures. Also, very often do people get a good laugh out of your guys merch when I wear it.
My Mediocre Amateur sweatshirt arrived! Really nice quality gear and the reactions are 100x better than the price of admission. Some just laugh at me because they are not 'Tubers. One guy said he wanted one because he was simply mediocre and could identify. I've had two people who knew the gig and we high five'd. Wearing my MA sweatshirt is part of my contribution to make America kind again. Great episode. I've been to the Jung - so civilized to start the climb from the train at 11,000'+
Did a shorter summit snow ridge like that years ago on Eldorado in the North Cascades. So cool. Have been to the region you're in several times. Last time was this past August. I don't really climb anymore, and was with my non-climbing family, but always look up to the summits there with a bit of yearning. You guys are super inspiring.
What a scenery 😍😍 hehe yeah, very considerate of Swiss to have the clouds below peaks 😁 Can't wait to see what was the third goal, I hope you got there
Danny another great video!! I would love it if you would post some of the specifics at the end, or beginning such as total time it took, elevation gained, steps, etc. thanks
You should look at the White Cloud Peaks loop on all trails. It’s in a beautiful range right by the sawtooth range in Idaho that is utterly incredible yet empty as everyone in the area spends there time across the highway. It’s 28 miles and a lot of elevation gain but gorgeous
This could be the start of new group of videos: Mediocre shorts. Was pleasantly surprise to see this pop up today. I really want to see you amateurs tackle the Haute Route in winter.
Great smash and grab. I'd love it if you could explain how you guys do your footwear on mountain days? It's got me all confused, you always go with trainers but then seem to strap on crampons? What am I missing here? Maybe a gear review? Awesome vid!
A couple of other things done different than you'd do it in Europe: you short rope on a ridge, and definitely don't let the rope tangle like that - too big of a jolt during a fall. Don't attach your ice axe to the harness if you intend to self arrest, too short und puts the pivot of gravity wrong. Rope should be stowed over the backpack, not below. A twisted harness reduce its strength and can cut off blood supply if you have to wait longer for rescue. Nevertheless, seems to work for them, and you're definitely enjoying it and using the experience you have to get down in one piece, in the end that's what counts. Cool movie, makes you want to go there yourself
so... if the guy on the rope in front of you blew out a step and started careening down that steep face, were you ready to dive off the other side of the ridge? Just hope the 3rd guy on the rope didn't fall. Could yank you off into the abyss before you knew what was happening.
I just found your channel a few days ago and I love your videos. But is there a reason, that you only do videos of your tours and nothing about your gear and stuff? Or did I miss a second channel?
Ooh have fun! I did it last fall and I was so focused on where to put my feet that I didn't have time to be nervous. I feel like it might have been delicate if I had been scared, but there was no time for that, and having a good guide helped too. Trust yourself and your guide and you'll be fine! I wish you great weather and a great time and would love to hear how it went!
Hey! Favorite channel seriously. are you guys using petzl leopards with soft shoes? I was thinking about this today. Might try to rig something that would allow very mild frontpointing w soft shoes
How not to climb at 3:01 - if you’re going to rope up on a slope, you must put in runners/protection otherwise if one climber falls, he will pull the others off with him (and no, you won’t have time to jump over the other side or have the strength to hold them).
Ah yes, I too climb 2,200 feet of vert with extreme exposure on top of a 13,000+ ft mountain on my rest days
I do what they did on their rest day and I’m tired for a few days 🤣
Not me. I'm less than mediocre.
I relate to you all right now so much!! Haha!
😂🤣 Definitely best comment here, their "rest days" are more brutal than most people's regular days
🤣🤣

I’m fairly certain they would deem our terrain a “wet blanket”
@@Bcskier44 "Wow, Mt Washington and the Franconia Ridge Trail, pretty flat, why did we come here again?"
That knife edge ridge traverse gave me the heebie geebies. You guys have nerves of steel.
I literally LMFAO at "this is our rest day."
Y'all are insane, I love it. That Ridgeline 😱🤯

Stunning scenery , that ridge climb looks pretty spicy though . You guys amaze me . Well done!
I’m obsessed with ridge hikes but that looks a little spicy for me!
"big day tomorrow" better be code for "Matterhorn"
I sure hope so!
According to Danny’s strava it was

You guys are good .just another day in the glorious mountains of the Alps.

😮 Beautiful but scary!!!! Great job climbing & filming. 👍🏻🙋🏼♀️🇺🇸
If you guys want to climb more ridges like this I would suggest the Castor and Pollux crossing.
Awesome video! I'm loving your Europe trip so far.
What a scenery 😍😍 hehe yeah, very considerate of Swiss to have the clouds below peaks 😁 Can't wait to see what was the third goal, I hope you got there
Ok. I'm subscribing. Love your videos.
Didn't bring skis for the descent??
Beautiful!! Thank you for another fun video.
Thanks for sharing! Breath taking😁

Fantastic climbing, great video.. really breathtaking

Another amazing video...one day would enjoy doing an adventure with these guys
Amazing video. Thanks for the great images from this Epic peak🤩
Incredibly epic! What a fantastic adventure!

I honestly expected you guys to ski back down.
Nicely done. Fun.
Nice fun video.
Wow that is unreal. I feel extra jealous because I’ve camped down in that valley but didn’t know such wonder was so close.
As a Swiss living in the US I also use Disneyland when describing outdoor activities in Switzerland to Americans.

I was wondering the same thing
3:35 what is your pick protector doing on your axe pick? How do you plan to self arrest when your blade is covered up?

Oh and I've seen better solutions than a single, simple carabiner to attach both your rope and the ice axe to the harness
This is typical of many ridge clubs in the Alps. When I climbed there many years ago I found it very unnerving.
Holy geez. What a knife edge walk. 😮
Great video, thanks. What type of shoes did you all wear on this mountain adventure?
Astounding adventure as always, but, real talk... what are Cristof and Matt doing during all these latest episodes?!
That’s a “rest day” 😂
Always great to get in some Type 1 fun sometimes.
What a ridge!!
AWESOME!!!!
By the way, if you guys get the Halbtax card for a year, it's about half price for these lifts.
Which makes it more affordable to go to Switzerland.

Thanks for your insight Mr Positive.
I was also curious why they were roped on the ridge
It is really strange to see - I mean, mountain guides do that, but only to help their clients mentally ... otherwise it doesn't make much sense ...
Roping up on a shoestring. Must try that! 😨
Was the train 180 bucks for a return journey?
Enjoying these, that is all.
Would be interesting if you make a video comment on techniques, equipment, planning etc to us exellent professionals
the matterhorn next?
Can you guys mention what you do for a living, that allows you to travel constantly like this??
Have you ever seen the movie *_Heat_* ?
The beardless one has a trust fund.
You Tube pays pretty well if you have a ton of subscriber's.
super pucker for that exposure. sheesh!
Awesome thanks
Love it
What camera are you guys using?
"Spicy, but manageable." How I like most of my hikes and food. :)
very interesting
Aww man who got the Raclette
If things ever calm down with Russia would you guys ever consider climbing Mount Elbrus since it's the tallest mountain in Europe?
When are you coming to nepal?
How often does someone fall down on that forsaken snow ridge?
You guys rock
Potentially stupid question: why'd you rope up on the snow? Just to protect the ridge by jumping off the other side if someone slipped?
how is pulling up on rope called climbing????
what happened to Christoph?
I just found your channel a few days ago and I love your videos. But is there a reason, that you only do videos of your tours and nothing about your gear and stuff? Or did I miss a second channel?
We try not to die in the Rockies so that we may not die in the Alps.
Did you feel like the hairline ridge was safe? i know you have a tether but I'm doing this next week and feeling a bit anxious!

Can we take up a collection to get Chase a new helmet? Everytime I see him with that Petzel on I think he's wearing it backwards.
No. If Chase can afford to go to Europe for fun, he can afford a new helmet. Id rather just shame him instead until he buys a new one.
What are they, Australians on the small Continent?! What do I know?!
Awesome videos. How do I contact you guys for a possible project/partnership proposal? Let me know.
christoff is injured, but what happened to Matt?
monch is easy af, did it with skis on backpack then skied it down, try lyskamm traverse...
Stunning!!
Can you post the music that you use in your video?
What date was this climb? I was in the alps in July/August this past summer and everything was crazy dry.
I climbed the Mönch a few years ago it's a great route
Hey! Favorite channel seriously. are you guys using petzl leopards with soft shoes? I was thinking about this today. Might try to rig something that would allow very mild frontpointing w soft shoes
such an epic video! How tall was this peak?
YESSSSSSSSSSS
You guys really blow it out, fucking fantastic!
Wow
No biggie just a razor ridge with a thousand foot drop on each side 😂
✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼
Epic
Climbing the rope was a but weird but to each their own.
Somewhat amusing to hear the entirely inadequate pronounciation of Swiss place names
Pretty harsh intro, but I wholeheartedly agree.
I'm going to need to put an adult diaper on to do this one.
and no trainers but proper mountain boots...
Jolly good show chaps.
You guys have balls the size of apples!
That price for the train just made me want to find a way to climb it from the valley 😂
Wooooooooo
Harness put in wrong way and crampons in ropes. Too much cocky and too little knownlage. This is recipe for accident or death. Be save guys!
How not to climb at 3:01 - if you’re going to rope up on a slope, you must put in runners/protection otherwise if one climber falls, he will pull the others off with him (and no, you won’t have time to jump over the other side or have the strength to hold them).
Yeah, they should have brought some nuts and cams for that snow.
very inconsiderate of the mountain not to have bolts in that snow...
I have diabetes, can I do this?
You guys really need to learn to paraglide.
The pronunciation of the name Mönch will indeed depend on whether you speak Swiss German, high German, Bavarian, etc.
Ogre- Eiger
Monk - Mönch
Maiden - Jungfrau
The monk is protecting the maiden from the ogre.
Oh hell no
