Low just be straight lying because in 1986-87 Jordan avg 11.9 FT per game. So sure he didn't average 12 FT technically but that is essentially 12. So he says he had to go all the way back to see someone averaging that many FTs. What???? Jordan averaged 9.1 FT is his rookie year in a time where they could literally knock your head off and not get called for a foul. Jordan can't average 3 more FTs in this milk toast era where you look at a player and you get a foul. Just horrible take after horrible take. Also LBJ has never averaged 8 points off of fast break points. The closed he's gotten to that number is 6.8. If Booker can average 6.7 on fast break point in a season then Jordan definitely could. Westbrook was has been close a couple of times also. Low needs to learn to do some research. Giannis has average over 8 points of Fast breaks 5 straight times. Even a guy like Buddy Hield averaged in 6 points in transition in 2018-2019 but you are saying rookie Jordan couldn't do that? Some of these takes are so bad and fool of just plain false lies.

MJ averaged 9 FT attempts as a rookie in the 80’s, so I could believe he would average 12 in today’s game with more fouls, softer defense, and flopping.
He also shot 51.5% from the field as a rookie, so idk where this notion that he couldn’t shoot came from.
He averaged 2.4 steals a game, and ran a 4.3 as a sophomore in college, so I could easily see him averaging 6-8 points per game on fast break.
Marz lied. The pace of the game statistically is faster now than in the 80’s. This is the fastest pace of play since the 60’s.
Also, this notion that a rookie couldn’t have the ball in their hands that much is just pure stupidity. Bron had the ball that much as a rookie, and MJ is a much better scorer than him.
Also, Low and Marz lied, because on basketball reference, it shows MJ shot 52.5% on 2 point attempts, and it doesn’t state the efficiency of those shots and their distance because it WASNT TRACKED YET. There is no evidence to support their claims. All it shows is that he shot 52.5% on 2PA in 1985.
And you can also tell none of them have played basketball on a bad team before. Because when you’re a good player, and you play on a bad team, literally you have the ball in your hands every possession, and the offense runs through you. So imagine that, but with the greatest player of all time, in an era where you literally can barely get touched, and get a foul called.
These boys are idiots. Simple as that.

Just saying, i dont buy the "they wouldnt let a rookie play that much". Rookie MJ was playing the same amount of minutes than prime Magic, Hakeem as the number 1 pick he played 3 less minutes than MJ. It wasnt that they allowed rookies to play 40 minutes per game, is that MJ was an anomaly, they made an exception for him because he was worth it. So MJ playing 35 minutes per games wouldnt surprise me.
Also, MJ shot 9 free throws per game in his rookie season, now they call less free throws because everyone is shooting 3s and you dont get calls as often shooting compared to attacking the rim like players did in the 80s. If MJ played in this era he is getting a lot of free throws because he attacks the rim and defender can create a little less contact. So 9 free throws attempts again sounds normal to me.
The difference is he would attack the rim in an absurd rate, like even more than Giannis or Westbrook and being more skilled at finishing. 27 or 28 points sounds fine for me and when he reached his 87 form he would lead the league in points every year just like he did.

And part of the reason he shot so much was cause he was placed on a coke team with players so bad who couldn't shoot. The average NBA player is a better today than the average yesterday we saw it when he was winning chips as soon as he wasn't surrounding by such bums his fg attempts went down He couldn't trust guys to hit shots and I don't blame him. Marz saying Mike wouldn't lead the league in scoring because "people would guard him like Russell Westbrook" AS IF WESTBROOK HAD NOT ACTUALLY LED THE LEAGUE IN SCORING BEFORE. You can't make this shit up, man. And Mike was never like Giannis where he had NO jumper. He had an OKAY jumper right out the gate (he _won a national championship_ with a JUMPER in college). Someone can believe that Jordan was the goat back then for his 3peat and its different now solely becuase of the fact that Lebron didn't play back then. Lebron is why people need to bring up his second 3peat and his other achievements and career years, while people saying he was the goat before then are comparing his career after his first 3peats to all time greats-Bron which again I understand if you think hes not the goat off those years but he definitely has a case, feel like it just seems worse than it is because of when we think of the goat convo we think of Lebron and MJ so its like in people's eyes it seems like people are comparing his career before his return to Lebron.

All this guessing on Jordan’s shooting as a rookie is conjecture. It is not a solid argument based on factual numbers. Just throwing sh8t out there doesn’t make it so. Jordan’s mid range as a rookie is better than a lot of players today. It was spotty but it went in. I don’t think jordan leads the league as a rookie but he’s getting 30. He already had college experience when college was actually full of talent and players stayed. He fits into the offenses today flawlessly. What do they do space out drive kick. Absolutely no one is stopping him from getting to the cup, and he doesn’t need to make pin point passes because players are wide open. I saw this man with my own eyes. He plays with passion like russell Westbrook someone with that much heart and athleticism on top of solid fundamentals Is going to kill it. And he never stops, doesn’t get tired, he just keeps going and going and going at u.

@coldjune2321 physical as in hand checking and they allowed hard fouls. watch MJ rim attacks. most of the time he's jumping into 2 defenders that are taller than him after he beats his man and he has to do a wild shot to get it in. watch lebron drive and after he beats his man there's no one at the rim. that's what i mean by "more physical" there's more resistance when trying to score. there's much less resistance in today's game because the floor is so spaced out. everyone is trying to cover a shooter that they just let drives go by, if no one is there already. also the effort, when someone gets in the paint, people don't really jump with him to try and stop him, they just put their hands up and kinda stand in the way, which obviously isn't gonna stop lebron.

Because that’s a lack of understanding about the game.
Numbers go up because of offensive and defensive rule changes, a predominance for the last few years to have bad foul calling (flopping, you get it), the game expanding out to the 3 point line and beyond, the average player getting better and more skilled overall, and better analytics and ways to go about strategy.
The changes that would lower his expected PPG would be the better teammates and greater spacing which would result in more assisting rather than scoring, the more strategy of giving it to his other teammates (the reverse problem John Stockton had), the defense being a lot easier to do on a guy who virtually cannot shoot 3’s (even if elevated a lot, he still wouldn’t shoot a lot on great %), rookies not at all getting the free reign (shots and minutes) like he had back then, and the competition on average being better.
Now, I think he would score quite a bit, and dominate now just as he did then, but he would not suddenly be the scoring leader

He was not at all on that level as a rookie, and he was never an exceptional 3 point shooter, in his entire career.
