Thanks, this was delightful to watch.I’ve woven just a couple of overshot patterns and look forward to doing more. I appreciate you modeling a methodical way of weaving through samples and giving yourself grace and permission learn through your inevitable mistakes!
Hi Rachel, I have been taking my first floor loom weaving class for the past 6 weeks and the weave that I am doing is overshot using some of my handspun. My teacher found that I knew more than I thought because I am a rigid heddle weaver and decided to challenge me with an overshot pattern. It has been fun and exciting to see the pattern emerging. I have been using a Schacht 4 shaft with 6 treadles. I have learned tons!
That's so awesome Sherri!! So glad to hear that -- it's amazing what doing some weaving on a rigid heddle will teach you. It's just an awesome jumping point!
There is some information about that in Jane Stafford's online guild, using skeleton tie ups and I think (don't quote me) that she talks about it in Season 5 with turned twills. You have to use multiple treadles but you are hamstrung by the fact that you only have 4 shafts and your threads are all threaded on just 4. I think you could do some research and find out what others have done!!

Thank you Sue Anne!! I agree, that role of Learner can be hard but we need a lot of patience, grace and humility, don't we?!
Beautiful weaving!
Thank you! Cheers!

Where are you taking your lessons?
@@zan_wild There is a guild in the Colorado Rocky Mountains near Estes Park where I have been taking lessons.

Overshot is my second fave, right after rosepath twill. I like it so much I just started playing with overshot on a Cricket 😂
It's amazing isn't it, Zan?!
I have a 4 shaft Schacht standard loom with 10 treadles. I am wondering if I can tie the loom up so that I could weave 8 shafts.

What loom did you do your samples on.
