  • Though Jesus stood trial before high priests and governors, no true fault could be found in Him. Nevertheless, He was condemned to die. Continuing his expositional series in the gospel of Luke, in this sermon R.C. Sproul contrasts the treachery of the accusers with the sinless Son of God.
This sermon was preached by R.C. Sproul at Saint Andrew's Chapel in Sanford, Fla. Hear more from his series in the gospel of Luke: • The Gospel of Luke: Se...

For what JESUS , the Holy Son of God did for us, how can we not worship Him. There are times when my face is wet with tears for how He suffered for me, my sins. I am so undeserving, but here I am, the lost sheep for which He searched and found. Glory to God! One day I shall see HIM FACE to face!

Amen! and Amen!!!! Almost daily, I cry tears of PURE JOY and THANKFULNESS for my Father's mercy and love,... that WHILE I,... was driving the spikes in His hands,... He willingly gave Himself as a ransom,... so that I might be purchased and saved through His blood. Thank you, Jesus! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Great sermon, thanks for posting. The NT paints a rich portrait of Roman officialdom. They’re sticklers for the letter of the law, preventing vigilantism against both Jesus & Paul. They’re eminently practical men, sometimes anti-intellectual (contrast the Greeks), “words & names” being beneath Gallio, learning as madness to Festus. Roman power was its own telos, so keeping the peace was more important than truth or justice. It was an OT “throne of iniquity” that could carry out any abomination as long as it was properly codified.

🕆 James 1:5-6 "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind."🕆

After Cain arrived in the Land of Nod, to which he was evicted by God as his punishment for murdering his own brother Abel, his wife became pregnant and bore Cain's first child, whom he named Enoch. This Enoch is not to be confused with Enoch, son of Jared, to whom the authorship of the Book of Enoch is ascribed.

But Pilot’s hands were not clean. He found a lame out, plausible deniability, but he fooled not God.
Only Christ can cleanse our otherwise bloody hands.

I will believe the Torah, "Israel is Gods first born". God does love the world, that's why he chose Them to be a light unto the nations. Not because of their special qualities but because he needed
to get his word out to everyone. He chose one nation to do that, Israel, His "first born son" Exodus 4:22. Miraculously with challenges and signs and wonders He took a nation from "within a nation" so you would know He is god and there would be no other. Deut 4:34. No man is necessary.

It is appointed for man to die once and then the judgement. When that time comes would you consider yourself clean and without blemish in front of the Almighty God?

No way I'm poor and wretched. That's why I gave my life to Yeshua your Jewish Messiah. He's my offer of atonement the one sacrifice without blemish that makes me stand in front of God in that day. His blood cleanses me. Without Him there's no hope no salvation.
