To see wild birds free to roam as they please lifts your spirit and soul. You are blessed by God to have such an abundance of magnificent wildlife in your vast country. Please look after it for future generations to enjoy.
We are trying hard to destroy it @Duncan. No lessons learnt from Asia, Europe and other parts where forests have all but disappeared. Even today, we are legally cutting down 500 year old trees in which these birds need to breed.
what a beautiful bird. in the wild, the way it is supose to be. i have 6 myself as pets, in a big avairy 16 foot by 8 foot. i sit and watch them all day, when i get the time. they are all so different, its great fun to watch.
We have two families of Eastern Rosellas that visit our feeder every day, one family of three (two adults and a juvenile) and one of 5 (two adults, two juveniles and an almost all green baby). Theyre glorious birds, and are quite friendly when they get to know you.
Great video, thank you! I'm fortunate to have a pond in my Tasmanian garden which the Rosellas love, & for all the world you'd think there were at least 3 or 4-different types visiting! This morning I had a small flock of Green Rosellas on the lawn feasting, regular Eastern Rosellas fluttering about the shrubbery & every now & then a dazzling form with iridescent blue tail & mantle and very pronounced red head & shoulders - quite the show-stopper! Not sure I can ever get close enough to see their cheeks! Very helpful video, cheers.
Thank you so much for this video. With Covid we recently moved to the country and have been delighted with the crimsons tha come onto the balcony to sit and watch and talk. Very vocal which is a delight. We do not feed them but during summer make sure there is water available. We have a flock of sulphurs nearby so are very careful not to attract them with food. We are intrigued by the number of colour variations we have seen so far so I will be out with the long lense to see what we can capture.
If there isn't a hollow there... apply to local council to hang a nesting box there. I notice a lot of trees in areas of Perth have nesting boxes hung in them...
I have 2 Rosellas aged about 20 years and a budgie ...Jasper talks ..he says "Hello Jasper" ..they like salt and vinegar crisps sweet chilly Doritos ....even yogurt and cream and mashed potato ...also chips with salt and vinegar . Jasper also does the Wolf whistle to ladies ..if i whistle the first part he does the second ..he is not that tame really he likes to fight me . The strange thing is he is fearless and will not back down even if i use a stick and knock him over .. he comes back for more and even seems to enjoy the violence .

We get a lot of crimsons in the garden & a few easterns, a big male crimson is so beautifully coloured, they really are a bright red & almost electric blue contrast, like their plumage was designed by an artist.

You must live a real lonely life treating birds cruelly.

Can we feed hibiscus flowers to Rosellas ??
Its funny , as soon as you cross the border at Mt Lindsay they go from red head to yellow head.

Is it possible to feed these birds at home? I am from Uzbekistan
They are a common pet here but do like our climate
❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍👍
Yeah, just searched local rosella breeders... 😅
Do you class these birds as parrots or parakeets
Parrots..Long tail no crest
Neither. Seperate genus Nymphicus. But historicaly were considered parakeets
Canto de rosela
