Really sweet knife. I know most guys don’t like round knives. It leaves less control over the blade rolling in your hand. Maybe a thinner set on the slabs to give it a flatter set. Well you’ll see as you test it. Beautiful design ...... Big Tony
Perfect size for a useful knife. I personally don’t care for huge choppers. You do some nice work. Blade geometry looks good. Sold design. The scale shape is not to my taste but I’m curious to see how it works out. One person I can suggest you look at is Alec Steele. His RUclips channel has a link in the description to his store. He sells bladesmith supplies and his prices are not horrible. Also, he and Will Stelter are pretty entertaining.

Thanks Mark. Sometimes, often even, I can get away with small mistakes and make them work well. But then there comes a time where you need to face the music and start over for the sake of the craft.
I really like that Jason is a master bladesmith, Sorry for the late reply but just recently found your videos and have been going back thru your content 👍
As a fellow bushcrafter, I think you'll find that the 90 degree angle on the butt of the handle will be uncomfortable with some different style grips of holding the knife. Other than that I think it looks fantastic. I personally liked the octagonal handle shape (aside form the butt).
Excellent job man. Love that design. One thing i would suggest if u havent already done it is try it with a lill finger guard. With the design i think it would look pretty good myself. Love watching ur vids. Very informative and helpful.
For a utility belt knife I really like a lanyard hole. A length of paracord with a knot at each end and a Turks Head adjusting slide makes a very usable lanyard that won't get caught on anything.
Hey Dustin, a good tip I picked up from another youtuber is that when you mix your epoxy, drawing out 2 equal sized lines side by side will help take some of the guesswork out of making it even. Great knife by the way. I can't wait for the next video!
when you hand sanded, did you slightly round over the corners of the handle? it will happen naturally, but it would be more comfortable initially if you did that. As to the holes in the tang .. this would make it more complicated, but as you approach perfection you might consider not drilling anything but the bolt holes..put the handle on so you can still remove it, and check the balance. You can then remove the scales and drill holes for balance, if needed. with a short blade and a tang that is full width and as long as the blade, this could be a crucial step in approaching perfection.nothing is ever perfect, but the closer you can get the better. Then again, it runs to taste as well. some like their knives perfectly balanced at the point where the blade and handle com together, and I like some knives that way, but as a general rule I prefer a blade heavy knife, but just slightly so.
Thanks for the input. I appreciate the advice, and will take that into account when making the small batch runs. Also, I did hit the corners just a bit to soften the transitions.

Cool knife, I think a darker polish would really bring the wood grain out more. Maybe leave the octagon look, but, round the edges just a little. Either way looks like an awesome knife.
Heck yeah man, putting that new grinder to work! I like using the table for your 45 degree initial bevel... may need to do that on my end. I really like your design too! How comfortable is this handle? Intriguing! Also another question I noticed when you're grinding the bevels you "swoop" it at the tip... I was told not to do that and just keep it parallel to the belt the whole way from ricasso to tip?
A nice knife but not that keen on the handle. It looks as though it's not finished. If you have a slight warp in the blade after hardening, clamp it between two pieces of, say 3/8 thick flat steel plate and temper like that. It should remove the warp.
