Yeah a lot of people can't speak the language, which is an awful shame :/ I'm not a teacher though, just studying Irish. I learned it in school too. I went to a "Gaelscoil" which is a school in which everything is taught through Irish (seachas an Béarla, ar ndóigh) :P That's no problem it's only a little mistake u made :P Cén fáth go raibh suim agat an Ghaeilge a fhoghlaim?

@MsLKSF Cén fáth go raibh mé ar meisce ag an t-am sin? Bhi mé sa teach tábhairne is fearr liom agus bhí an deireadh oíche ansin. Dhún siad go deo (fabhanna leis an airgead). Ach tá ceist eile agam anois: An bhfuil an Ghaelige do theanga dúchas? Sílim go bhfuil sí do theanga dúchas. Tá an ceart agam? :)

@MsLKSF Tá mé beagannaí ar meisce anois, therefore I change in English mixid with Irish:
Tá ceist agam: An féidir leat a aistriú an focal "Féirplé" It sounds like fairplay, but of course I know that "ag plé" means discussing, the rest I understood (Thuig mé). The second question would be: Are you from Connacht?

@MsKLF Cén fáth go bhfuil me ag fiafraí? I read (Léigh mé) that "sin togha" is a typical expression from Connacht Irish and one of my textbooks is teaching Connacht Irish. Agus leanfaidh orm ag foghlaim Gaeilge, agus tá bród orm a chaint (a scriobh) cúpla focal as Gaeilge :)
Oíche mhaith nuair nach bhfuil tú i dó choladh anois
(Corrections are welcome because only in that way, I learn your beautiful language much better).

@MsLKSF Cén fáth? Iike Ireland. Twenty years ago, I made my first try to learn that language, ach thosaigh mé a staidéar (Is ceimiceoir mé), agus ni raibh ant-am ar bith agam. Chríochnaigh mé a fhoghlaim Gaeilge ag an t-am sin. Thósaigh mé a fhoghlaim Gaelilge aris an bhliain seo caite. Tá sé theanga agam anios (gan Gaeilge) ach ní raibh teanga ceilteach agam, agus tá sé an-shuimiúil. Ni cailín as Éirinn a bhí an fáth :-)) Slán agat

  • @Biervampy

@MsLKSF I know a lot of Iriish people here in Switzerland which are not able to say more than "Conas atá tú? ná "Cad is aimn duit?" Ach ni thuigeann siad "Cád é mar atá tú" ná "Cén chaoi a bhfuil tú?" :-)))
:Therefore I thought that Irish could be your native language. Ach sílim anois go múinteoir tusa:-) But really on thing is terrifying for me: I knew that after t(h)eanga should be the genitve, but I looked on google afore an I made I wrong. Tá náire orm :-(

@Biervampy Táim díreach tar éis do dhara teachtaireacht a fheiceáil! Sea, is nath cainte Connachta é "sin togha" ach úsáidtear é ar fud na tíre. Ceartúchán: "Tá bród orm as a bheith in ann cúpla focal a rá agus a scríobh as Gaeilge" :)
