YONGNUO LENS AT AMAZON* ➡️ amzn.to/2zojHYl
Benjamin Jaworskyj I own this lens and I of course use it on my Canon but I also have a Nikon and just bought the Nikon mount from Yongnuo. It was pretty good at portraits but not totally sharp focus. I tried it out on flowers and anything to do with foliage and it was AWFUL! I sent it back to Amazon. Such a shame! I also tried the Yongnuo 35mm f2 for Canon. The first time I used it, it got stuck on my camera and the focus ring stopped working. It was just sheer luck that it eventually came off my camera! Would not risk that one!
Hey Benjamin. Greetings from Colombia. If one day you pass through, just drop me a line bro. Thanks for the review, super nice. One question, what adapter for the lens are you using? EF mount to e-mount? Gracias.
I have it and think it's a pretty good lens, price in my opinion leaves perception, I bet if Younguo had slapped a $500 price tag on it then people would say it's super high quality and a great professional lens lol haha
I got the Yongnuo 50mm 1.4 for Nikon and boy! It's super sharp wide open yet retains that dreamy characteristic. Gorgeous images! Was slightly missing on the autofocus but I did a firmware upgrade(yes! It has a USB port!) and it's all perfect now, just for $180!
This was the first lens I picked up for my Nikon D 7100 and I was totally shocked done how crisp the images were. And I take it everywhere I go. I did some family portraits with it and they all love them. It's the best $55 I spent here in the US on a lens ever. Now that I picked up the D800 by Nikon it's a little bit better but you need better glass than this to get the full megapixels out of the D800 but I will still use it for my D 7100.
I used this lens in China before(its a Chinese company, they targeted at the low budget lens in mainland china) and I would say it's pretty awesome too, I also try it's 35mm lens, it good too! Especially they are so cheap!! Great!
Great video my friend and thanks for having the background music as background music and not too loud. Lots of really useful information. You have a new subscriber!
I bought this lens two days ago. It will be in my hands on Tuesday!! I can't wait! Thanks for a great review! I now feel more confident about buying it.
For the price, this is a great lens! I have this lens (YONGNUO YN50mm F1.8), the "plastic fantastic" (Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II) As well as the new (Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 STM) All of these lenses are very good. The new STM is clearly the best but it is also the most expensive of the three. That being said, you can't go wrong with the YONGNUO! It is very good quality for the cost at less than half the price of the STM.
I think it is good for beginner photographers. I saw some negative reviews on Amazon UK but on the flip side, there were many positive reviews about this lens.I am planning to buy it considering the price point of view. I am not expecting it to be top notch lens but hopefully it should work. I just wanted to know about it's low light performance.
I own several Yongnuo lenses for use with various Canon EOS camera bodies, including this 50mm 1.8. Yes, they make good lenses at extremely attractive prices. I can confirm your findings in the 50mm 1.8 (very sharp). The 100 mm f1.8 is unbelievably sharp - better than Canon I would say. I did have trouble with the 85mm 1.8 connecting to the Canon 80D body electronically. This seems to be a known problem. I sent this lens back to Amazon and got a full refund. This 85mm 1.8 is one of the sharpest lenses I've ever owned, so despite the electrical problems, I'll wait for a bit and then try again and see if the bug has been fixed. The 35mm f2 is also very sharp and extremely useful as a carry- around lens for general work.
thank you for the video. online some reviews say the lens is not sharp untill I tested it out myself for video and this baby is sharp i can for sure use it for photos especially after viewing your video i m glad I have the lens thanks again
Hello. I want to buy this glass (yongnuo 50mm 1.8 i or ii) and a camera. I hesitate between canon 7d or nikon d3400. As a professional maybe you could advise me which camera will be better. I like 50mm focal length on aps-c. I do mostly portraits. Nikon is younger. , smaller, more modern and has a larger sensor. Will the picture and bokeh be better in Nikon or Canon Thank you in advance for the information.
Hello.. First of all, thank you for this great video.. But i want to ask, which setup and post production filter etc. (or LUT) did you use while shooting this video.. because i really loved the colors :)) so beautiful..
Das Ding hatte ich auch schon unter den Suchvorschlägen. Habe mir gedacht: Ist das was ?. Danke für dein Video ! Ich werde es mir mal bestellen. Glaube es ist nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis weitere Produkte nachrücken. Zeiss CP´s gibt es ja schon lange als fake :D By The Way - very good content !!
@@syber_3173 let me explain myself, I called him an idiot because his original comment was "which lens are you using in this video" which he later edited. Now it's obvious that that was a very idiotic comment given that this entire video is about that one particular lens and it's name is even mentioned in the title...so yeah.
What's your opinion about vintage lenses? (old Canon FD for example). Of course it's manual focus, but I know that's not an issue for you. Could you maybe make a video about them? :)
Majofan21 For any mirrorless, fd will rock. But for digital Canon bodies, not so much. Because many fd to eos adapters I have seen have an extra glass element which reduces contrast, sharpness, quality and amount if light. Still it is worth buying since they are so cheap in price.
FWIW (since I'm not the guy you asked) I use a lot of them on my Sony mirrorless and they work very well, especially for stills. For video I have shot a few but you must have a good understanding of depth of field and, because of that, aperture. Either you or an operator must have this knowledge depending on whether you'll be the person taking the video or the person starring in the video. Many modern cameras have peaking mode, which shows you things are in focus by highlighting them on the screen. Then you zoom in a little more on the screen and continue focusing further with the peaking mode help. However, shooting video you won't get the time to zoom in on the screen and get crisp focus...you'll have to do as best you can as you go. I have set up some video shoots where I starred but sat in a chair--therefore at a pretty fixed point in the depth of field--and that worked OK. For filming other people while walking around, I don't think the stabilizers I own would be of any use as how I hold the camera and lens would be different than with auto focus...it would take some getting used to but I could do it I feel. An f/8 or f/11 aperture should make life a lot easier. But then of course you must have a lot of light available.
Hello, you'll need to start learning about "mounts." A mount is the way a lens connects to a camera body. If they don't match, then you need an adapter. We quickly find from Googling that the Sony a6000 has an "e mount". Knowing this, you can search ebay to find out if the Yungnuo lens comes in a e mount. No, it doesn't. Canon EF and Nikon F mounts only. You'll need an adapter to get from one of those to Sony e mount, which will probably make the lens manual focus only.

Its autofocus does work, but sometimes not very accurately, just sometimes, maybe depends on which body you are using.
