  • @davidmann9467

    I fish ponds like this all the time where I live in New Hampshire. The water looks black in those ponds because of leaves that have decomposed and are sitting on the bottom. Also, in winter climates that get a decent amount of snow that builds up on the ice (no sun gets through therefore no photosynthesis and no oxygen) and do not have a good inlet of water during winter (bringing oxygen), you can get occasional fish kills. I wonder if this pond had a fish kill 6-7 years ago which would explain why many of those bass are the exact same size.

    • @bassinbill96
      @bassinbill96  7 лет назад

      +David Mann very interesting! Didn't know that! It does get a ton of snow and ice, but I'm not sure if they have had any fish kills there. I don't believe so. There are some big bass in there as well I actually caught a 4 and 5 lber back to back one week after this (after the Minnesota trip)

      In northern Wisconsin basically any lake has decent fishing. I'd rent a house on a lake. So look up vacation rentals in northern Wisconsin. When you find a nice house google the name of the lake it's on look at what the Wisconsin DNR says. If it has largemouth listed as abundant or common you're set.

    you absolutely killed! I'd rather catch 50 small fish than 5 decent sized fish. I've got to get back out to northern Wisconsin to fish. Thats where I really learned how to fish and there'd be those days when you flip 50+ fish in the boat.
