I had the same reservations as you when I first saw the bag ... and kept going back to look at it time and time again. Now, I'm sold ... This bag is versatile in how you can wear it in the crook of your arm, just holding the leather handle, over the shoulder or crossbody with a longer strap. The brass feet are nice and the outside pocket is okay, although I don't usually use it because the closure is awkward with one hand. Great all-around everyday bag - the Neverfull is just too big and too open at the top whereas the Metis has more restricted access which is nice for security. The gathered sides with the outer seam really is cute.

Hey I just bought this bag like a week so and I noticed that when I open the pocket at the front, there is 2 marks of indentation on the flap. I can see yours has the same marks when you open it at 3:43.You have obviously had your bag for a long time than me, so my question is did the indentations get worse? Because I love this bag so much, but I'm thinking of exchanging it for a sully or something else. I would really appreciate it you replied to this comment;)

Another couple of great, thorough reviews! I wish the price increase wasn't tomorrow!! I think I like this bag. I too, have worn backpack style handbags before and like them. I also really appreciate anytime there is an outside pocket on a bag to throw in keys or cell - however this one is probably more cumbersome to use. I'm not sure how I feel about the Marylebone. Usually a two-handled shoulder bag will not stay on my very rounded shoulders. Thanks again for the reviews!
Great review! I bought a Metis recently and am having a difficult time opening the front pocket. Are both of those 2 buttons on the front pocket suppose to move? I only have 1 button that is able to move inward and the other button is stationary. Thanks!

Hi! love the noe, just bought a pre-loved one. I was wondering if you still have the noe if you could do a reveal of using the metis hobo leather strap/handle on the noe instead of the shoulder strap. I have seen people do that with their petit noe and I would like to see if the noe is to long to be carried as a top handle/ crook of the arm bag. :)

I don't understand why LV would discontinue this gorgeous bag!! Of course they have other great hobo options like the Melie & Artsy (which I love) but there is something about the Metis hobo that's unique and slightly different for them, yet still very LV.

Love your review. Been debating so much between the Pallas and Metis. Love the Pallas side pockets but not sure of the structure with usage. The Metis is functional but long. Please recommend for the money and timeless piece, which will you choose?
Simplyblossoms I have to honestly say - the Pallas has a more timeless shape for fashion. I agree the Metis proportions are a bit "off", but for me I like the backpack style of the Metis. That shape, for me, is timeless. I am not one to follow trends. I buy what I like. I can see myself liking this bag 10 years from now regardless of what others think. The Pallas is a beautiful bag. The shape is timeless. It will slouch over time as the canvas relaxes. If you prefer the structured look, you could purchase a bag organizer to maintain the shape. Between the two, the Metis holds more of it's value (at the present time). IMO it's because the Pallas is overpriced . Buy the bag that calls to your bag heart. Because that is the bag that you will use most :)

Hello! Great video! I'm thinking of buying the Metis for my birthday. I do love the shape but I will not use the short vachetta strap. Do you find the longer mc strap comfortable? Is the bag heavy? I bought a similar but longer Monogram Canvas strap for an older bag ( it can be used crossbody, and it looks very similar to the metis strap), and it hurts my shoulder when using it for going shopping. Your answer will be appreciated, and will help me decide. Thank you, and I'm watching all your videos!!!
+BCS I find the short strap to be extremely comfortable. I do not use the longer monogram strap as much, but I do find it comfortable but too short for cross body. The newer monogram straps tend to be stiff and not very comfortable i.e. the Metis Pochette Strap. However, you can find an alternative strap at Mautto.com. I purchased a wider webbed strap to use on my Monogram bags and it is very comfortable. I did a video on strap options. Hope that helps :)
Thought about getting this bag but saw it and changed my mind . I didn't like the front pocket reminds me of a wallet stuck on a bag . Bj do you have any idea when the new neverfull will be out ? They have rose or blue lining .

arkaye1989 The only notable wear is a small scratch on the edge coating on the trim. Other than that, nothing signficant to report. As for using the bag in snow. The short handle is all vachetta - you could protect it with a spray or Lovin My bags. You could also purchase another leather or nylon strap to use in place of the vachetta strap in the snow. I did a review on a company called Mautto.com which sells a variety of straps. The quality is very good and I have ordered several to use on my LV bags. The other alternative is to use the Monogram strap that comes with the bag whenever you are out in the snow. Then the only vachetta you have to protect is the tab on the pocket. Hope that helps.

I'm looking for a hobo style lv in the monogram print. From your experience which would you say is the best option. I like the galleria pm, sully gm, artsy mm, delightful gm and the bag in your video. Please help
They are very different bags - the price point is significantly higher on the GST. IMO the GST is a dressier bag but can be worn casual. The GST is heavier and more structured. The handles of the GST tend to slide. The Metis holds it's shape but over the years as the canvas relaxes it will tend to slouch like a hobo. The GST also tends to relax and slouch over time at the corners. This bothers some people. I feel the Metis is more comfortable to carry - JMO. It is all a matter of personal preference and what works for your lifestyle. Hope that is helpful :)

Simplyblossoms I have to honestly say - the Pallas has a more timeless shape for fashion. I agree the Metis proportions are a bit "off", but for me I like the backpack style of the Metis. That shape, for me, is timeless. I am not one to follow trends. I buy what I like. I can see myself liking this bag 10 years from now regardless of what others think. The Pallas is a beautiful bag. The shape is timeless. It will slouch over time as the canvas relaxes. If you prefer the structured look, you could purchase a bag organizer to maintain the shape. Between the two, the Metis holds more of it's value (at the present time). IMO it's because the Pallas is overpriced . Buy the bag that calls to your bag heart. Because that is the bag that you will use most :)

Hello! Great video! I'm thinking of buying the Metis for my birthday. I do love the shape but I will not use the short vachetta strap. Do you find the longer mc strap comfortable? Is the bag heavy? I bought a similar but longer Monogram Canvas strap for an older bag ( it can be used crossbody, and it looks very similar to the metis strap), and it hurts my shoulder when using it for going shopping. Your answer will be appreciated, and will help me decide. Thank you, and I'm watching all your videos!!!
+BCS I find the short strap to be extremely comfortable. I do not use the longer monogram strap as much, but I do find it comfortable but too short for cross body. The newer monogram straps tend to be stiff and not very comfortable i.e. the Metis Pochette Strap. However, you can find an alternative strap at Mautto.com. I purchased a wider webbed strap to use on my Monogram bags and it is very comfortable. I did a video on strap options. Hope that helps :)

Thought about getting this bag but saw it and changed my mind . I didn't like the front pocket reminds me of a wallet stuck on a bag . Bj do you have any idea when the new neverfull will be out ? They have rose or blue lining .

arkaye1989 The only notable wear is a small scratch on the edge coating on the trim. Other than that, nothing signficant to report. As for using the bag in snow. The short handle is all vachetta - you could protect it with a spray or Lovin My bags. You could also purchase another leather or nylon strap to use in place of the vachetta strap in the snow. I did a review on a company called Mautto.com which sells a variety of straps. The quality is very good and I have ordered several to use on my LV bags. The other alternative is to use the Monogram strap that comes with the bag whenever you are out in the snow. Then the only vachetta you have to protect is the tab on the pocket. Hope that helps.

I do not find it difficult to get into. It is especially easy to get into if you are wearing it on the longer shoulder strap IMO.

They are very different bags - the price point is significantly higher on the GST. IMO the GST is a dressier bag but can be worn casual. The GST is heavier and more structured. The handles of the GST tend to slide. The Metis holds it's shape but over the years as the canvas relaxes it will tend to slouch like a hobo. The GST also tends to relax and slouch over time at the corners. This bothers some people. I feel the Metis is more comfortable to carry - JMO. It is all a matter of personal preference and what works for your lifestyle. Hope that is helpful :)

hi bjtaylor, i am a fan of your videos. 4 days ago, i purchased the artsy mm (in monogram, was able to get one made in spain, and was thrilled about it), but yet to take it out of the box (!!) because i just might exchange it with the metis (!!). i just am worried about the glazed (or extroverted as you call it, ;) ) seam, it might crack or break after some time. can u do an updated review of how your metis bag is holding out so far? i am seriously considering exchanging my artsy with a metis.
