Taking the leap of faith is what holds a lot of people back…I’m off the grid with an independent power source, have my own water supply & grow about 50% of my own food. Wouldn’t have it any other way…but it took me until I was in my 60’s to take that leap…it’s never too late, go for it if you are passionate about being independent…best of luck to you guys 👍
My folks did this 50 years ago. It would have been great if they could have documented their move on video. I’d recommend sealing the inlet for the IBC with some gauze mesh. It sucks to find a dead snake or rat in your water supply.
What a magical spot that you can do so much with!!. Awesome adventures to come im sure and great for kids to learn sustainable living. Especially with whats coming. 👍
Looking forward to new content! ❤️ I also live in Australia and I’m looking at living off grid when I’m older so I’m hoping your videos will give me some inspiration 👍
How good! we are currently on the gold coast working our buts off to save $$, had no idea people would want to watch this stuff so we didnt bank videos or have a big budget. Doing things as we can afford it. New regular videos should start rolling our end of Jan as we got our hot water units from Smarttek and our shipping container gets delivered on the 13th :)
That was thoroughly enjoyable to watch . Learnt a few things about potential Australian off the grid opportunities. Thank you . Good luck with it all 😃

well done on taking the 1st leap .. been watching a heap of yanks with this off grid lifestyle and now glad we got a fair dinkum Aussie having a go, looking forward to following your ups n downs.. stay hard !

We dont have a big bank account or banked videos but more regular content will be coming mid too end Jan and 2023 we hope to move up to Bundy full time and get things moving.
When we were 45 we sold everything, built a motorhome and hit the road. For 15 years we drove around Oz then dropped anchor on a bush block. I am now turning that into an off grid paradise, well my idea of paradise anyway. It was real scary at the start but the best thing we ever did. Things always work out, maybe not exactly as planned but always good. At least that's been my experience.
We are in the planning phase of our Off grid living at the moment and are based in Brisbane. Still looking for the right land. Very happy for you to be doing this very close to where we are. Will keep looking at your progress and will jump in to help sometime in the near future. Good luck mate..

Hey mate loved the video I'm currently looking for very similar piece of land and can't wait to see what you do with yours very inspiring brother God bless
Great video mate. Thanks for changing your handle.... a little. When I saw your video pop up last year with your original handle, I thought you had a cheek. But hey, you are off grid, and you are definitely an Aussie!! I look forward to your content down the road. All the Best. @OffGridAussies
Great starting setup. We helped a friend set his water and small solar up. For his water supply. He had a well drilled. Then we installed an RPS (Rural Power Systems) Solar well pump turn key system. From the well we ran the water into an IBC Container like yours. We saw people building wooden towers (expensive now) for gravity feed but found it more cost effective & cheaper just to double stack or triple stack ibc’s the pressure was good. Then we saw where others had taken old junked or abandoned campers and used the 12 volt holding tank pumps and piped them either into off grid cabins or trailers or just attach pex or hoses. We had access to a free 12 volt pump and for a free part we made a pressurized system. I hope this gives you and others visiting your RUclips channel ideas.
@@uppanadam Agreed, my parents are in the renting crisis at the moment, north of $650 a week for a crummy 3 bed house on one income. Keen to get them up to our block once we get a bit of momentum and funding behind us.

Thanks :) we love the tiny home idea, we actually just purchased a 20ft shipping container to convert in a later video :P I will be sure to do some cooking on the fire and camp oven in future videos :D love it!
Yep, producing content is lots of work... but just a bit of content is better than none.. Looking forward to the next, and yes, I've subbed so i can see.... the next.
Hi Mike, thanks for the comment :) Filming content is a learning curve for us at the moment as we have had to make quick decisions with purchases etc, we forget to get the camera out. We will however be filming this weekend. We will be focusing on getting the land back from overgrowth caused by the past few months of constant rain. We have made a few purchases that will help make this possible and hope to have another video out mid next week :)
Thanks :) we will have more videos coming soon :D we will be going back to the block this weekend to work on some new plans and bring us more materials :)
yea it can get expensive if the home wasn't designed for power efficiency and set up for off grid. Our container home we built is setup for 12v like a caravan and used an inverter for all 240V. This entire setup cost me just over $3000 and we have A/C, fridges, lights, everything we need.
Great start to your Off grid dwelling and a beautiful spot. All of our stuff is in rodent proof containers - metal tins, tool boxes etc. Regarding the IBC for water, I suggest covering it in black builders plastic or painting it to keep the sunshine off it. The algae will grow in the water and becomes quite manky and slimy (If it can flow through the outlet). Speaking from experience - I needed to use a high pressure hose to get all the gunk off.
Hi Excellent block and FANTASTIC view, not surprised the road works / traffic hasn't gotten any better driving up to Bundy. Do you have any extra building requirements to cover fire ratings in Bundy?
Cheers :) yep, the traffic up there will still be there in a few years unfortunately, but when its done it should be great! Not so much for building requirements as its a steel box, its more the land maintenance and keeping up with mowing/fire breaks, fence lines and keeping re-growth under control :)
With the area designated as the vegetable garden in the shade, I believe you would do better in a different location! You might give some thought to the new location of the water tank on the ground. Usually it’s best to be elevated so gravity will push the water for basic use. Shower water will have to be pumped. Otherwise you’ve got the start of a very special place!
Thanks for the tip :) i will re evaluate that next time i'm up there :). We have sorted the shower out now with a 12v pump that feeds a hot water unit that is mounted to an IBC shower cubicle setup & that has its own 12v source and solar input independent from the house power setup. We will have another video up soon of this and updates on plans for the container home. :D

A great start to your channel, looking forward to your future plans. I watch a lot of off grid living from Portugal. I’ve a couple of questions, what elevation are you at ? Do you have a natural water source on your land ?
As for elevation I'm not sure I'll have to do some research. We do have a small stream that runs down the bottom of the hill, however we don't yet have a pumping setup to capture that water, we rely on a 1000L water tote on our trailer :)
We ordered one of them black UV covers but ended up replacing the entire tank for a proper water tank and now just use that to cart water in from town 🤙🙏
