I keep wondering why these folks are working on the floor? They work with wrinkled looking fabric. Seems like the end result would not be pleasing. And don’t understand why they are always using shears to cut long lengths of fabric. Is it possible that rotary cutters are not permitted in this country? Making sheets does not compute for me. Regular sheets and flannel sheets should not be hard d to find. Perhaps calling this ‘sheets’ is incorrect. Perhaps they are actually making a bed spread which is meant to be decorative. Despite these things the end product was nice. And clearly these women are excellent seamstresses.
Well, I don't see harm in sitting on the floor to do things. A rotary cutter might of course be an easy way to chop things up.But, if the seamstress can manage it with a sicssors then why not? Lastly, I think we need to get out of our little bubble that what we know is the only way to get things done.I think the women here did a fantastic job with very little resources.
