Just read about Smashing Pumpkins (one of my favorite bands) and their drummer Jimmy Chamberlin on wikipedia, and read about this short lived band which I've never heard of until today. I love it.
I remember this coming out when I was in college. I adored it. I just went looking for it and WHAT THE F. "If we can't be, you can't have it!" Gonna buy the CD and rip it likes it's 2003 again.
Me too, bought the album in 2003 just because i´m a smashing fan, but this immediately became my favourite.... It was parked in the CD player of my car throughout that summer...
At the time this album came on I was suffering from a divorce my parents had, really nasty one. I was beaten and my mother raped constantly. Brutal. Christ Himself never moved his hand off of me. I listened to this cd and got through really tough times. I can't say enough but this song specifically delivered me from very dark places. Hallelujah. Thank you Billy Corgan, brother.

That fill Chamberlin does after the first word "Here" on "Lyric" just immediately sets this apart. So unique compared to what most drummers would do there. Love this album. Always had a bit of a Big Country feel to me, a band I also adore who had a great drummer in Mark Brzezicki. And then there's Paz. What a gorgeous woman. Not just physically (although there's that), but also her whole aura, always smiling, always seeming joyful. Totally won me over. A shame this fell apart so fast and can't be found on Apple Music, etc.
Why is this not on anything to stream? Billy, you might have crappy memories attached to it but i don't! stream it man... I think its one of the best things he has done. I have two copies.... somewhere
The album is a lot better than it's typically given credit for. It has a few weak tracks, but it's solid. The band had a lot of potential to do great things, but shit happened and it was over before it really got going. You should take a listen to the unreleased live material, much of it is better than what actually made it onto the album. There was a good torrent of it all, best versions available a good few years back, which I downloaded and listen to a fair bit, give it a try. You like the album, believe me you'll love the live stuff. One day I hope those songs get studio versions released in some form, if Billy can get over his feud with a couple of the others (Pajo primarily). It's been over 20 years Billy ffs!
Guitar effect I think, or maybe just a sound clip they added in the studio, such as the "DOOM explosion" in the Pumpkins song "Where Boys Fear to Tread".
Such a shame this album doesn't get more love then it does.
100% agree
Billy pulled the plug and is purpousely supressing its availability to the masses.
He blames it on $100 in lobster and a hacked BlackBerry... D'oh!
Real (btw goated pfp)
Most underrated album EVER!

Lend me a copy?
This album is fucking amazing!!! ❤
このアルバムを聴くだけでBillyの天才的なソングライティングが分かります。smashing punpkinsと同様でアウトテイクまで天才的です。
しかし最近はJames ihaがすっかり存在感が薄いのはとても気になりますが…。
