@@cdmit27 Exactly, very short and it starts in the Comal Springs sorta by Landa Park - it's not really an accessible area like the rest of the river is. You can go to Landa Park and kayak/canoe around but it's not really a swimming area. in between Landa Park and the Springs is an island that you can swim around at but you actually have to live in that neighborhood to access it. I grew up going there because my great Aunt lived there but haven't been there since the 90s (they sold after a huge flood). So basically the best access point to start the river float is in the video at Landa Falls right at Wurstfest.
@@NomadicGeardo you mean spring island? It’s been accessible to the public for a while now. I know there was controversy about it. Dont know about the other island in the area though. But hinmand island and spring island are both accessible to the public considering you can find parking.
The comal is very short as stated. Landa falls has the longest float. As OP stated thats your best bet. Im local and believe they are the best outfitter. Float is about 2.5-3 hours depending on your stops, flow, and crowds. Other option is to get in at hinman island or prince solmns park. Just pay for parking there, then pay your river fees and get in there , and get out at the last public exit near schlitterbahn (its marked on google maps). How you get back to your car is up to you but using an outfitter is easiest way. By using an outfitter you park at prince solms($20) or go to landa falls(free parking there btw) , use their tubes, and they give you a ride back.
@@jakesingleton7692 Woah, I had no idea about Spring Island - at least I think that's the island I'm thinking of (has a wading pool and a canoe rack that I remember from my childhood). That's great to know!
Yeah you definitely can - just please credit me (Nomadic Gear) and provide a link to my channel in the description! Thanks for asking - let me know when it's online!
@@mattcal6423 Glad you enjoyed it! I actually couldn't tell you the artist - I have an account with ArtList.io and use a bunch of their music on there. There's no way to Shazam it and I'd have to find the file but it might be on an older drive somewhere. Look into ArtList tho and you can scroll around!
How long is this river and where does it start?
It's only 2 miles long. Shortest river in the state of Texas.

This is entirely too slow remove this is stupid
Please explain why it’s bad that it’s slow, I actually love how slow it is. I’d love to hear what others think as well :)
It’s fine/perfect. Can you please name the artist/song you used at 5:05?

Have you ever floated the Comal River in New Braunfels, Texas?
Great video - Would you mind if I used a 2 second piece of this video in a video I'm creating if I give you credit in the description?
That's fine! Please credit my RUclips channel!
Really amazing, love it 100%
I'm glad you like it!!
How good is the river flowing now
I'm not sure but I bet this rain has browned it up quite a bit. I'm sure it's flowing great though.
How deep is it
It can be 4 feet at times and it can get deeper throughout - not sure how deep but it ranges: probably 6, 7 up to 10, 12 feet.
