The other video I saw it was fall and the trees were bare and the grass brown. Very start landscape. Your video has everything in green trees and grass such a diff. Rose was on about $100,000 a year the second highest reporter in the u.s.a. she went over and reported on ww1 in europe. She paid for the syone cottage and bought her mum and dad a very nicecar which did not get any usage as neither could drive. They did eventually learn late in life. Thanks for great video. Years ago they opened it up to Mansfield residents for Christmas at Laura’s. We actually got to go upstairs and take pictures. Then we got to sample food from her books.
From reading books about Laura Ingalls Wilder and her daughter Rose Wilder Lane it is my understanding that Rose first left home to go live with her aunt Eliza Jane (Almanzo’s sister) in Louisiana to attend high school as there was no high school near her family’s home at the time. If I remember correctly Rose was her high school class valedictorian. I understand that one of the first jobs she had when she completed her education was working as a telegraph operator.
How do you, after listening to stories about him, seeing things that must have spelled his name, and having watched the television series, not know that his name is "Almanzo", not "Alonzo"? How do you think he got the nickname of "Manny" with an "M"?
Very interesting and informative. Thank you for taking us along. 🖐🏻😝
You are always welcome.
Thank you showing us her home
