Its a book about growing into what you need to be, not what you want to be, it's about the dangers or heroism and martryrdom, its about prophecy being fickle and not set in stone. Dune is an extremely complex book and is very challenging to fully grasp without introspection, Dune Messiah was actually written to expand on Dune to get the themes across. I hope this isn't a spoiler that will ruin the books for you but i just wanted to help!
