Since 1995, Kaan Düzarat has been involved in radio and DJing. In 2003, his passion for music took on a new dimension with the launch of Dinamo 103.8FM in Istanbul. His interest in music production supported his DJ career, allowing him to enhance his sets with his own music. His tracks have been featured in the playlists of renowned names like Jamie XX, Seth Troxler, Craig Richards, and Laurent Garnier, and have been played on radio stations and stages around the world. He has released tracks under labels such as Only Records, Reckless Republic, Pastamusik, Nublu, Petra, Stereo Ferment, and Hard Fist. With his FOC Edits project, he incorporated edits of tracks mainly produced in Turkey during the 70s and 80s into his sets. Some of these edits were released in vinyl format by Disco Hamam and Ostra Discos. He has also created remixes for artists like Athena, Mor ve Ötesi, Gaye Su Akyol, Candan Erçetin, Nil İpek, Mabel Matiz, Kalben, Hediye Güven, Melis Güven, and İlhan Erşahin.
Kaan has regularly performed at clubs in Istanbul such as Crystal, Otto, and Minimüzikhol, as well as in other cities like İzmir, Ankara, Eskişehir, Çeşme, and Bodrum. He hosted Together at Crystal, Salı Sallanır at Küçük Otto, and Vesvese’li Perşembe nights at Minimüzikhol. He has shared the stage with artists like Dez Andres, Moodymann, Daniel Bortz, Francois K, Locodice, Martin Buttrich, Carl Craig, Alex Gopher, Seth Troxler, Locodice, Nicolas Jaar, Darkside, Move D, Maayan Nidam, Soulphiction, Acid Pauli, Kalabrese, Mike Huckaby, Kyle Hall, Marcellus Pittman, and Eddie C.
With his eclectic sets that range from House to Techno, Jazz to Folk, and Disco to Electro, Kaan has performed at numerous venues and festivals such as Boilerroom, Salon Zur Wilden Renate, Galerie Kurzweil, Rote Sonne, Katerblau, Le Sucre, Southern Soul, Nuit Sonores, Zukunft, Kaus, Razzmatazz, Kasheme, Bozcada Jazz Festival, Cappadox, and Sonar Festival. He has also curated event series like Orange Date, Kırım Church Concerts, and Salı Sallanır, which featured pioneers of various music genres such as Darkside, Nicolas Jaar, Gigi Masin, Murcof, Francois K, Marcellus Pittman, Seth Troxler, Yussef Kamaal, and Gökçen Kaynatan. Vesvese, initially founded in 2010 as an umbrella organization for event series and a radio show, expanded in 2019 into "Vesvese Records," releasing Gaye Su Akyol's 18-track remix album "Remiks İmparatorluğu."
Kaan studied Sociology and Music at Bilgi University and founded his own music studio and company in 2008. He has produced jingles, film scores, and sound designs, and continues to create for various brands. In 2013, he participated in the Red Bull Music Academy held in New York. In 2014, he opened Analog Kültür, a record and music equipment store and studio in Galata, Istanbul, which is still in operation. With his free improvisation group Analog Kültür Experiment, he performed at various festivals, with guest artists such as Korhan Futacı, Tolga Zafer Özdemir, Engin Recepoğulları, and Deniz Mahir Kartal. Between 2019 and 2023, he worked with the band Lalalar, contributing to their first album "Bi Cinnete Bakar," and performed with them at various festivals and clubs across Europe. Kaan continues to be active in various music-centric fields, including DJing, music production, radio hosting, event curation, and music consultancy and direction for venues and brands.
