I think Stolas being on a pedestal means that he sees the prince as, well, royalty. Both in the "You are powerful enough to ruin my life in an instant" kind of royalty, and the "You are the prince of my heart" kind of way. It's both romantic and societal.

No one seems to be talking about how all of Blitz's hallucinations have his own voice, except Moxxie.
I hoped that he would talk about that because Moxxie still confuses me in that sequence.
Is it only because Moxxie hasn't been fully pushed away by him yet?
Why was he the only one able to follow him and why did his cloth turned into a prom cloth?
Is it because he is also elevating Moxxie by being submissive to Stalos and giving him the job? Does he think Moxxie is ignoring the status he is giving him and starts to see himself as above him while he knows he isn't?

I think they were guaranteed to appear in each other's hallucinations having their own voices, but anything else would depend on their brains

b (the on I believe):: It's because Moxie has an emotional intelligence and a willingness to call out Blitz's poor emotional responses in a way no one else does. Moxie knows why his boss reacts the way he does, and Moxie is having none of it; he's even willing to call his boss out on his shit. (We actually see Moxie call him out in his own hallucination and it shows that Moxie is just as aware of how Blitz responds to things.)
I think Stolas calls Blitzo "his impish little plaything" because he doesn't know how else to deliver that phrase. As shown in Loo Loo Land, as he's trying to explain his feelings to Octavia, he has trouble coming up with the right words, especially to and about the people he cares about. I hope you enjoyed this flimsy splaining session

Its such subtle writing. See the difference between a bland hollywood romantic subplot and a ride or die ship for me is whether the writing and character work can put you head of the lovers.
Because Blitz is suspicious paranoid and insecure ambiguous even cringy lines like this make you go immediately into Blitz's headspace. We are as suspicious as he is. We are looking for reasons to freak out. It was a tiny poison pill. Its like in Pride and Prejudice how Elizabeth assumes Darcy is trash until she reads his letters or visits his house. Its how Shakespeare makes you doubt shallow immature teen love in Midsummers Nights dream by making everyone drunk hormonal and stupid.
Good writing is about making you fall in love with the characters as we find out more about them, while also remembering why it would be really difficult for true love to prevail.
Sorry my references are geeky, but usually the best romances are a lot alike.
Stolas definitely has a problem with his capacity to not belittle everything and everyone arround him.
Which it probably stems from his position as a prince of Hell. Only a few select hold any authority over him, so he has never feelt like he owed anything to anyone.

Yeah, Stolas has really only referred to Blitzo with nicknames using his name and obviously, it would be less effective to use Blitzo's name in that situation. Buuttt, Stolas doesn't really have any other nicknames for Blitzo hence impish little plaything.

We don’t know much about Blitzo yet but seeing from the most recent episode (and the vid) trauma has a part to play in why he acts the way he does. He may be an adult in the show but he could very well still view himself as a scared little kid. Just like Catra. We know that Catra was abused her entire life and the only person that she ever cared about left her
Yet Blitz is WAY more easily likable and even more sympathetic character than Catra. Least his violence is played for laughs for most of the show. And hasn’t been horribly abusive to his ex, at least not physically.
@@manicpixiedreamhurl03 I know. It was more of a jab at creators, honestly. If you're going to portray an abuse survivor, maybe it's a good idea NOT to depict them committing literal war crimes? And the show doesn't shy away from all the horrible things she does, more like ravishes in it. All in all pretty bad rep for abuse victims.

Edit: if anything, I think it would reassure victims that hurt other people but got help that they're allowed to be healed and get to be better people.
You know what was strange to me about Blitz's trip? His sister wasn't in it. Her presence as part of his history has been literally sitting in the background since the pilot, waiting to be addressed, yet she's NOT part of his neurosis? Really makes me wonder what their dynamic actually was.

I LOVE how they show Moxxie as a drawing because Moxxie made fun of blitzos drawings and art skills in the third episode

I just noticed how stolases eyes are alway pure red, exept for when we shouted at blitz for puting himself in danger when he gets white pupals like his daughter, and he actually sounds like her during that scene too. Octavia realy is stolas's daughter
I think that give Octavia a few centuries of unhappiness and you'd get something like Stollas. I think he and his daughter are truly kindred spirits. His toxic positivity and naivete is just a front for the same feelings of worthlessness and abandonment. I really have a weird moment of disconnect. As you are both a kid who feels fragile and isolated and alone, and then you blink and just mere experience affords you with this immeasurable power to hurt peoples feelings.
I mean they don't need to fix their broken home, they need to build a better one. Blood does not make a family, but it is the strength commitment and intimate bravery to make connections. I only hope that Stollas can make it up to her... I really feel for this scumbag. I've played the victim card. I've treated people badly. And he tries to hide his feelings but I just get the impression that underneath it all he makes people how he really feels. But that could be bullshit. maybe he is happy.

While I agree with your analysis of Blitz's feelings and insecurities regarding Stolas, I don't think the progression of their relationship only comes down to Blitz learning how to be loved. Stolas needs to check his privilege and, like you said, his condescension (and almost fetishization) toward imps. Blitz can't really fully open up and commit until he feels that Stolas cares about him as an equal in the relationship, so my hope is that they work together and have a long conversation about power, boundaries, etc. so they can establish a more functional relationship.

There's room in this interpretation that he saved I.M.P. not as an act of love but out of self-preservation.

Blitzo just needs a whole lot of therapy. And a hug. He honestly deserves so much better. Poor boy deserves everything. I honestly think Blitzo does care for stolas as more than a fuck buddy. He definitely loves him but all his past trauma is keeping him from being able to love and being loved by others.

While I agree that Blitzø needs therapy, I do not however think that he deserves better, he's a natural dickhead who enjoys murdering people and sending them to Hell. I personally do not think he deserves a better life given that he's a merciless assassin that has no care for life.
The scene with stolas venting his rage when it came to blitz being in danger. That look from blitz IS admiration. But it's also becouse blitz isn't going to be used to being protected. Its "holy shit. He actually cares about me."
Yes, thank you so much for this comment! That realisation that he cares for him is partially what I read it as, as well as the admiration, which is why Blitz seems comfortable a couple minutes later to display very obvious affection which has previously been lacking/subtle before and during the kiss scene. He is the one who actually pulls Stolas in to initiate the kiss and is also very eager to suggest "want me to f*** your brains out tonight?".
I have enjoyed Stolitz since it was first introduced to the show for the way they interact and play off each-other in a banter-y way but until ep 5 hinted that Blitz had actual feelings for Stolas when he stutters whilst trying to downplay their relationship as a "transactional f***ing" that I started wholeheartedly shipping it, rather than just a guilty pleasure to ship. Ep 6 is absolute confirmation that both parties view each-other highly and love each-other, even if they don't really know how to treat their partners in general.

@@mirkohoble The writing is so subtle. In that while there are obvious tropes involved, they are peppered with enough clues that would tie into Blitz's sarcastic paranoid mindset. Like how in Pride and Prejudice... you don't really like Mr. Darcy until you read his letters and see his house... because the writer wanted the readers to fall in love with him. Or how in "Much ado about nothing" their stupid friends have to trick the lovers into falling in love, because they are the most irritating characters so using the writing makes you fall in love.
Vivzie is subtley creating a narrative where Blitz has to learn to trust Stollas, or shouldn't trust Stollas at all but is too blinded by desperation. You don't get this level of quality in actual romantic movies... good on the writers man.

Can we just pause to appreciate for a moment that this is the first F-bomb Stolas has ever dropped that hasn't been bleeped, and it was because it was in anger rather than something sexual; "How the FUCK did you get caught by humans?"
All of the bleeped out language Stolas uses isn't standard human swearing, but language so grotesque and explicit that it shocks and offends the denizens of Hell. The man has no filter when it comes to sexual desire, and humanity has yet to come up with language offensive enough to actually represent his level of discourse in that area.

Its worth also noting that Stolas is not merely on a pedestal, but atthe top of a set of stairs heavily visually coded to be heavenly; using the same colour palette and architectural style, the feathers not only being owl feathers but instead an angelic white/gold.
Yes! This is not only a power thing or their difference in social status. The timing is also important. Blitzo was literally brought down to his knees by his personal (literal) demons and started climbing up the staircase while it was still grey. It turned golden when he saw stolas at the top.
Committing / binding himself to his relationship with Stolas is his repressed highest ideal or most inner desire (literally high above and golden). He believes it will bring him salvation from the things that haunt him.
I took Stolas on the pedestal as him being Blitzo’s salvation, not only giving him the freedom to be himself and independent (as evidenced by him transforming to how we see him today) but also possibly being his path to a genuine relationship and actual intimacy. The thing is I think he feels that Stolas doesn’t see him in any sort of romantic context. Stolas is patronizing, always calls him things like “my little imp”, and doesn’t exactly see Blitzo as an equal. Blitzo thinks that Stolas sees him as just a toy, a plaything. He knows he doesn’t have any power in this relationship (hence the chains) but he still goes along with it not only because his company relies on the use of Stolas’ book but also because, as the show puts it, he craves intimacy and this is the closest thing he can get/will allow himself to get

I don't think Stolas fetishes Imps on the account that he only has eyes for Blitzo. I think he just doesn't know how to express romantic love aside from s**ual innuendos. I don't know about any form of lore that may have been released behind the scenes of HB but if Stolas' marriage was arranged (which would make sense, being it common within royalty) not only would it put him in a more understandable light but it could be a strong possibility that he's never experienced love beforehand and just doesn't know that it's more than s**ual. He seems fairly young, even for being the father of a teenager so it is likely (and as far as I know, common) that their parents arranged their marriage early in their lives so neither of them got the chance to experience real romance before marrying each other. Not to mention the scene where Stolas can't find the words when his daughter asks him "why?" expresses his awkwardness and just his lack of being able to communicate in general. I feel the way Stolas calls him "my play thing" and "my little imp" is just his way of expressing his love for Blitzo and he doesn't realize that it can come across as condescending. He just thinks it's cute.
Stolas marriage was an arranged one. I think it was mentioned or implied in the episode that introduce Octavia.
It's a bit hard to say how old Stolas actually is, but he might by far older than he looks. He is inspired by the demon Stolas described in Ars Goetia which was written around the beginning of the 16th century.
The lullaby he sings to Octavia kinda hints to his species of demons having a long livespan.
Maybe age is also the reason Stolas threats Blitzo like a child because from his point of view Blitzo often acts like one with has tendency to pick fights quickly and get himself in trouble as a result.
@@jolly_39 even if he is hundreds of years old there's also the possibility that he ages slowly, physically and mentally. Like Thor in the marvel universe. Therefore, even though he's hundreds of years old, he still has the mindset of an adult on the younger side.
true !!! u see it a couple times in the loo loo land episode like when stella's screaming at him and says "do you want to fuck this one too?" and stolas immediately (and seems very sincerely) says not at all + when millie saves him later in the episode he asks for blitz instead of "you smaller ones"

I dunno if it was intentual. But it seems like after their trip. Blitzo realized something, and during that fight sceen he really felt like a "dad" to the group. Like the balance he needed suddenly "clicked"

He _did_ hug and _kiss_ Loona affectionately and said how proud he is of her. And that was _while_ they were in the fight, when he briefly beforehand seemed against her being there. I wonder if Blitz has decided to open up to others more, and possibly allow Loona a bit more space while also giving her more direct affection instead of just cooing over her like a baby like has been at times...
What if Blitz didn't want the solo act? What if something happened to his sister that forced him to continue alone in a profession he hated, only because it was the only thing he knew what to do? But suddenly, without his twin people weren't interested. It was mentioned by Blitz that he had dreams of musical theatre. So his dad probably forced him to continue in the circus? Just a thought.

Not just is Stolas on a literal pedestal, Blitz sees him as an angel.
Probably also as a reference to the fact that the Goetia demons ARE fallen angels.
A savior to him in a way but also something demanding of fear and respect and to some even perfection, something that Blitzo feels he's too far from to ever achieve and that he's too out of his league to ever be seen as equal by.

Blitzo's voice coming out every character in his dream/hallucination sequence was a really nice touch on the part of the show runners. I feel like since it's not actually the characters but instead just projections of his insecurities it's fitting that it would be his voice.
Symbolism of him telling himself all these things as intrusive thoughts rather than memories of what those characters said to him
I also want to point out a small thing I noticed. The chains that trap Blitzo are made of gold which could relate to the difference of status but could also symbolize love. Golden chains are often associated with love, divine connection and soulmates which honestly makes me believe more that Blitzo is in love with Stolas on some level.
This also further drives home that the chains represent being in a committed relationship, being 'trapped' and 'chained down' to one person in blitz eyes, and yet he doesn't resist being chained as he loves Stolas, as you mentioned the golden aspect of the chain could symbolise this love.

Say what you will, but 'Stolitz' being a big looming plot of HB is awesome. Some couples get shoehorned into the plot because one love interest was accidentally tied into the story. _(Like it could have been any person who got dragged into the story but let's take the love interest instead.)_
'Stolitz' moves naturally story-wise because it literally sparked I. M. P. and created consequences that greatly impact the story.
I agree Stolitz has problematic elements, making it arguably unhealthy. But I think there must be a balance for Stolas and Blitz to develop healthier habits without compromising the comedic nature of their relationship (and the nature of the show itself). I don't want them to be a Millie-Moxxie copy; I want them to be a couple that baby steps learning about emotional intimacy and honesty; it would feel far more realistic because relationships take a lot of work.
Edit: I also think Blitzo is a compelling chaotic protagonist because he actually moves the story too. He's a jackass, but at least he's not a boring jackass and his intentions are hilarious, if not relatable.
I think the best ending possible for the series is for stolitz to be healthy, maybe 3 seasons?

Honestly, is any relationship in Hell healthy? Even Charlie and Vaggie seem like they’re gonna have a rough time with Vaggie’s insistence on being serious and cautious all the time and Charlie’s blind optimism in the face of manipulative radio demons. The healthiest relationships I’ve seen are Angel and Cherri’s friendship and of course Millie and Moxxie’s weird but wholesome blood fest
@@SeraliaAerialsI can't really say much on Hazbin, but we do see Millie and Moxxie being relatively healthy. But we can't really compare the Stolas and Blitzo dynamic (which is more of a business partners w/benefits) to a couple that sound like long time sweethearts who got married.
I guess for me, my definition of a healthy relationship is a couple where both partners are mature enough to take responsibility of their own personal issues and not dump it all on their partner. And considering Hell's environment, that's difficult. So for me, it's fun and interesting to see babysteps to learning and growth for any relationship in Hazbin and Helluva's Hell.
Also Stollas is a great match. They are both attention whores... both deathly afraid of being alone. Both irredeemable wicked and violent which i don't believe will ever need to go away. But they are so incompetant at romance. I always loved Yandere and Tsundere pairings. One day they will have the emotional vulnerability to consider themselves Sugar Daddy and Side Ho. Like it will take a long time to get even that far. I kinda like that, that they are quirky and terrible at romance.
Honestly, this episode has put the ship on limbo and I'm living for it.
The entire time, fans were seeing it was Stolas who would have one-sided love but it would be fascinating to explore if it's only Blitzo! I'm not hoping for their ship to be healthy immediately; but I would like to see babysteps in progress.

But now I'm worried what's going to happen to Stolas in the season finale.
He gon die... When I hear his lullaby to Octavia and read the lyrics, the fracking death flags just keep raising. I mean heck, I just watched the trailer again they released in at the end of Dec. 2020, and most of the snippets of the episodes can be tracked across all the previous episodes, except for a few that had Stolas brooding at a dinner table, presumably, the same one he sat with Octavia and Stella at the end of episode 5, and him attending a party/event with hanging cages, another shot that had him stand up in genuine concern. Another heavy player in the story is Striker and when we last saw him he was sporting a Holy Revolver.

Late to it but after the finale part one all I can think about this situation is that Stryker is still on the job and Stolas is all alone for the weekend....
Honestly, I gravitate towards the idea that blitz thinks of stolas as a heaven (he climbs up to him and the color scheme is similar to the cherubs), that he feels he dosen´t deserve and so he pushes stolas away, but at the end of the episode we have an echange where stolas asks for a "thank you" (not mentioning sex but impling it as a possibility ) and blitz goes against all of his prieves notions (episode 2 "im not a day hooker", etc.) and outright in public actually flirts with stolas.
This makes me happy and shows a step towards blitzo opening up!
Now I love the opinion of sarcastic chorus, and almost wholeheartedly agree, but to add further "evidence" to the fact that blitz's afraid of becoming solely attached to stolas is the Golden Shackles metafor witch urban dictionary states is

Also honestly I love seeing the worried but scolding dad/lover side of Stolas. Yes. More of that Stolas please. He seems to always treat everything like a joke, so it's nice to see him showing some seriousness and concern for once.
I thought it was interesting that at the end, Moxxie was dressed as Stella when Moxxie said: "--and you'd think I've had enough of it as well", meaning Blitz knows that Stella is humoring his relationship with Stolas but not in a good way and its only a matter of time before she acts on her own.
I think if that's the case, then she probably thinks so little of Blitzo and/or understands that Stolus has the power here. Or perhaps she, because of their status, can't just leave Stolus, thus the assassins.

I love the subtle fact at the end that Blitzo willingly (if a bit nervously as you can see a bead of sweat fall down his face for a quick frame) initiates the sexual encounter, as opposed to a probable normal reaction of Blitzo refusing or pushing away and Stolas egging him on or joking with him as the portal slowly closes. But they chose not to do that. And in that last frame where he grips Stolas's head, you can feel the smallest bit of actual affection, even if Blitzo purposefully by the creators seems a little wary

I agree, but I'm not sure it'll be as explicit as the example in the video. I think it'll be a crossroads we as an audience see coming but he doesn't until it's too late, and frankly, I don't think he'll choose either of them. I think he'll try to keep everyone and, in the process, lose everything he has. We still have yet to reach that clip of him sat alone at the table.

The only thing this episode added was a 360 element to Blitzo’s. He not only has to admit that he is in love with Stolas but also learn to be loved and love in return. It’s almost like a beauty and the beast type deal if both of them were the beast.
Actually phantom of the opera is a beauty and the beast story and Blitzo was dressed up as the phantom in Moxie’s hallucination….symbolism yay.

I believe stolas is in fact watching blitz to an extent without him knowing. In the murder family episode when stolas calls blitz, theres a bubble in his bath that he pops rather quickly showing blitz in the human world.

I feel like Octavia and Loona meeting would heavily impact their relationship, both Blitz and Stolas adore their daughters, who are both lonley with complex issues with their fathers. I think that could be a part in shifting the dynamic massively based on how those two interact and see eachother

It made me love the ship a lot more than I did before. I thought it was a good ship that had potential but I didn’t know where it was gonna go. After this episode you do see that they do both truly have feelings for each other and that their relationship has become more healthy so I’m definitely more for it after this episode.
My theory on the throne and the chains is that Blitzo does have feelings for Stolas, but he feels pathetic in pursuing those feelings. It ties into the issue of their class divide, and into Stolas’s condescension & fetishization towards Blitzo. I think Blitzo might feel that Stolas sees him as nothing more than a pet, hence the chains, and thinks himself a bit of a fool for craving the affection Stolas gives him anyway. I think him turning back into his current self when crawling up to Stolas could partially be because Stolas was partially his ticket into his current life (the book) and partially because of what you said, that with Stolas Blitzo can be his jackass self and not get rejected for it. As a personal preference I dislike ships that are very sexual but these guys are fascinating and I can’t wait to see what becomes of them
I believe that there’s a power imbalance between Stolas and Blitz. Blitz feels trapped in their relationship. Him getting back his clothes symbolizes that Stolas gave him everything; his job, his “family,” and the book. He feels trapped, like he can’t leave or everything that he has gets taken away.
I’ll elaborate on this later, but I thought that I’d like to share my thoughts.
I mean that's basically it. Stolas can easily just end up ruining Blitz' entire life if he doesn't give him what he wants. The 'relationship' between the two(I used that loosely) isn't good, for either of them frankly, but more for Blitz because he has everything to lose.
In other words, there's room for improvment for this two idiots!!! I ship them so hard!!!

Some symbolisum with the whole Stolas being on a golden throne/pedastal NO ONE is talking about, is the fact that Stolas, the demon prince from the actual book of solomon, the demon that HB's Stolas is based on, is canoncally a fallen angel, which if Blitzo is aware of that fact (Hell a personal theory I have right now is that all demon nobility are most likely fallen angels like Lucifer, given the position of royalty by Lucifer after the fall as either a thanks for siding with him during their rebellion, or as a way to keep them in hell with him so they wouldn't get ideas of trying to redeem themselves) Perfectly explains part of the heven imagry Blitzo sees around Stolas during the acid trip.

I, personally, saw the Stolas on a pedestal part as Blitzo seeing Stolas as too good for him. He idolizes him, and Blizo doesn’t think that he’s good enough to truly receive the love/affection that Stolas wants to offer
Now while I do think and agree that this should be the Canon route to go for, I think that for one small arc, them breaking up and played from Stolas perspective would do even greater things to this relationship. Eventually getting back together when they work things out and keep it more clean. Blitz had his moment of realization that he would be okay with dropping the transactional part so now we have room for Stolas learning that he doesn't need the book and the deal to keep Blitz around. Just my two cents to have this ship raise a few more sails.

i just realized that in his hallucination, Blitzo's teeth are not sharp as they usually are, they're more round-ish... showing how helpless and weak he feels... the details are just incredible
I've agreed with all you've said in the video and the points you made about each one of the flawed dumbasses that are the royal owl and the self-destructive imp. But still, there are somethings that I've noticed in the Blitzo sequence that caught my atention. Either if it was just purely for asthetic reasons or if it has deeper meaning, I think it's still valid to analyze it.
First, during both Blitzo's and Moxie's sequence, Blitzo has a black symbol of a broken heart in the middle of his forehead, instead of the usual heart shaped skull. I first thought of it as maybe being how Blitzo used his face paint when he was in the circus or working in Looloo land, but in both the posters he has in his ofice and the flashback he had in the "looloo land" episode, he still had the skull shape. For that reason, I think it represents just how much he has been traumatized or just plain rejected, either through his relationships or his dreams, breaking his heart. But i cannot be sure and would like other people to share their thoughts.
The second is that Striker said: "But you don't want to do a thing alone, Blitzo!" (or at least it is what i heard). As you said, Striker is the baddass assassin Blitzo would like to be, and he knows he can be like him, but what holds him down, and the focus of the whole sequence, is that Blitzo doesn't want to be alone. He knows he can do it, but he doesn't want to because he yearns for validation, for respect, for relationships and a family (probably because he didn't find it in his own).
The last thing is that the two shadowy figures that stand by Stolas in Blitzo's sequence have his shilouette. I think it only represents how Blitzo believes he will be if he accepts Stolas love and opens up to him: he turns into his servant, either by his view of being an imp compared to demon royalty, or just feeling like he will obey every one of Stolas whims and become vulnerable. As you said, his self-defence mechanism is to put others down to make himself feel superior.
That's all i noted. Anyway, loved the video! Has a shipper, I do hope they can work out and maybe get out of the toxic standstill they are in now (Stolas calling Blitzo "his impish little plaything" is still a huge red flag for me), but for now: THE SHIP IS SAILING EVERYBODY!
Just remember guys... stolas was using only a portion of his power... think about how apocalyptic stolas would get if Blitzo either dies or is brutaluzed to near death...

Just "adoption anniversary", so it could be any anniversary of the adoption. Also that's a flashback, so it could also be any number of years ago.
I don't think it's been many, I doubt she's supposed to be older than her mid-20s, but I also don't think she's 18. If she was, I don't think she'd have said "I was almost 18" when referring to the point he adopted her. That suggests to me that it's probably been a few years.
I'm pretty sure the key to understanding Blitzø is his deep rooted sense of self-loathing. He doesn't know how to love himself. He needs someone else that loves him to teach him how it's done, but he can't understand how or why anyone would ever love him so he doesn't trust them when they do. His self-loathing paradoxically drives him both towards and away from emotional intimacy simultaneously.

Even before when you called the relationship toxic. I felt like it was fine because their relationship is toxic and you can read it that way it was never like you picked it out of thin air. I think Blitzo and Stolas is a good ship but the relationship is unhealthy and they need a hell of a lot of work. Blitzo lying to himself and Stolas also keeping blitzo at arms length by playing the im upper crust part.

A relationship doesn't get to lose the title of unhealthy just because it's undeveloped and it's not a bad thing that it's deemed unhealthy (in this context). That recognition means that Blitzo and Stolas can work toward developing their relationship by working through their unhealthy aspects and altering their relationship to be healthiest altogether. I like Blitzo, I like Stolas, and I like Stolitz, but these are messed up people in a messed up relationship. That's not to say it can't change because obviously it is, but it doesn't negate the unhealthiness that does exist. Saying their relationship isn't unhealthy because it's still developing is stupid.
@@oma-ob1uz I think its development is being halted by obvious mental health issues... and pretty similiar ones... just with different coping mechanisms. They both are pretty low confidence, they are both afriad of being alone, they both fuck each other unconscious. The only difference is Stollas is in super denial and painting a false positive face on things, pretending everything is perfect (which is not true and being challenged) And Blitzo is in denial and trying to treat everyone like garbage becoming paranoid instead of cautious. They both don't want to die alone.

My personal theory regarding the chaining up scene was that with stolas he is trapped in this middle relationship where before he can just leave the relationship easy, like with Verosica and his circus days, because that means no more book, and no book means no imp which means everyone hes known dear will be gone. But he also doesnt want to become intimate because hes too scared that Stolas will end up leaving him. Hes an imp hes lowest of the low, in episode 3 when all 3 of the crew couldnt believe a pop star would go for him, that probably lingers in his mind that he doesnt feel like hes good enough for someone like that, when yeah Stolas loves him. I want them to be happy

In episode 2 Stolas invites Blitz even if he can defend himself and Olivia bc he wanted his company and, even if Stolas teased Blitz a bit, he respected the imps wish to not bang in the damn park and didn't insist anymore. I think that's sweet
I have the feeling that when the looming consequences of using the book arrives, Stolas is the one that is going to be in heavy trouble (specialy considering how his wife feels about him and she could have a massive role there) and Blitzo is going to be the one going out of his way to save Stolas, kind of the reverse from this last episode, taking full responsability to show Stolas that he cares about him...
I think the most interesting part of the acid trip scene is that, if you listen closely, they are still talking to each other. They are interpreting each other a little differently, but the conversations *are* the same across both scenes.
Moxxie confronts Blitzø about pushing people away in both of their hallucinations and Blitzø lashes out in his perspective, but opens up from Moxxie's point of view, so I imagine the "truth bomb" gas *did* work to a degree and I can only imagine what they were actually saying to each other that had the d.h.o.r.k.s so invested
I love the turbulent dynamic of these two, seems like things will only continue to evolve as the show goes on
My interpretation:
Moxxie: Phantom of the opera + 90s Disney
Blitz: The Wall + Cuphead (early Disney)
His life was literally shit, while Stolas let him become more. But it's a gold cage, symbolized by the golden chains.
Blitz as a clown is how the world sees him and it represents his past in the circus.
Moxxie is his incompetence, which he tries to cover up with his ego.
Striker is not understandable, but he could symbolize Blitzos need for recognition and power.
Fizzarolli is his fear of not being able to do anything on his own. After something happened, Blitz apparently tried to be successful alone without his sister and failed.
Verosika is his fear of entering into relationships because they make him vulnerable, which is why he pushes away anyone who gets too close to him.
Stolas is a way to be more than a dirty imp, but the price is to become his own. Blitz is afraid of being completely absorbed by him. Represented in the end by the feathers (golden cage).
We can look deep into the psyche of Blitz here. He is afraid of being unsuccessful again and therefore does everything to be successful. Therefore, he pushes away anyone who could weaken him.
At the same time he is also afraid of dying alone and builds relationships like his adopted daughter and his stalking of M&M. These are 2 opposites that inevitably lead to his being abandoned.
Therefore, in the end, he decides to allow relationships and to be vulnerable, because he doesn't want to lose his friends and Stolas.
I think in Moxxie's trip is where we see Stolas watching Blitz. 👀 Blitz has the one red eye when he's singing, and it just feels to me that that's an important detail. I think somehow Stolas is able to look in on Blitz mind when he senses some kind of danger. That's just my opinion on it. I could be wrong, but it seemed an interesting thing to have that bright red eye there.
I interpreted Stolas being on a pedestal as “you have a high amount of power over me and hold the chain around my collar and can yank me every which way” but I also interpreted it as “I like you very much that I place you on a metaphorical throne.” Or maybe it’s both like “I like you but you have the power to ruin my life”

What I adore about the writing on this show... When Blitzo and Moxxie have their heart-to-heart, it's a seriousness we never would have expected between those two... AND YET, when it happens, it completely does NOT feel out of character for them.
Blitzo is stuck in a rock and a hard place. He cares for Stolas but he knows that at any moment ANY MOMENT he can lose EVERYTHING.
Stolas can just shrug and say:
"ehh, the imp fucking was nice and all but its not enough anymore Blitzy" and I think that's why he's so hostile towards Stolas on the outside, he wants to harden his heart to Stolas so he won't lose his mind if Stolas leaves him. I don't see him leaving Blitzo but I think that's what the stairs up to Stolas represent, how high Stolas is on the totem pole compared to him and how badly he wants to admit that Stolas can love and care for him but also kill and reject him in the end, his distance for everyone is so he doesn't lose control over a situation anymore.
When blitzy’s outift change into something fancy,, i kinda like see that part as him feeling something change inside him like before the scene where stolas appeared he was in a clown outfit thus seeing himself as a clown or a joke or smthn then when stolas appeared it change into something fancy and i think in that scene for it portrays on how he likes himself when he’s around stolas but at the same he’s afraid bc he might open up himself to him and that might ruin their relationship and thus he fears of losing him 😭😭😭😭
Episode 7 just yeeted the relationship through the window
This episode completely did a 180 for me on their relation. I'm not that great in to reading relations unless it's very obvious the two feel for each other. And in the pilot going on Stolitz didn't feel like it was going to happen since Stolas showed he loved Blitz but Blitz didn't return the feeling and seemed to show disinterest, scared or anger from any interaction. It did not feel like he truly liked Stolas and was only doing it for his business which got more love than Stolas.
But during that trip it opened doors and showed me that deep down Blitz does love Stolas, but because of the past his mentality warns him that Stolas is only using him as his plaything, with how Stolas is on golden throne and high atop the pristine staircase to show how different in status they are, the Golden chains on him how his mind depicts Stolas using him, and when Stolas dissipates to join the tornado of Blitz's inner demons I think that's his mentality trying to warn him that the love will not stay, at anytime Stolas can and will leave him. and he will be heart broken again if he doesn't be careful (push people away toxic mindset).
With the feathers I looked it up and they can stand for love, care and protection so the subconscious could be telling him if he keeps protecting himself from those who genuinely love him he will only continue to suffer (which leads to his turnaround to show that same affection to Stolas and his team by the end)
Or it's his toxic mentality forget warning him that not pushing Stolas away will lead to pain and suffering once again. Really it's up to interpretation but yeah, big turnaround at the end for their relation and I feelthat the Lust episode Stolas will meet Osmodius to try and get a divorce from Stella, or he might be meeting Blitz there for a date or discussion on a serious matter (relation or business wise), can't wait to see what happens!
Just a thought: After Blitz comes out of the trip, he makes good on what he said to Mox in his trip. “I’ll be a better friend than I was before”
-He encourages Moxxie in battle
-He makes sure Millie is well equipped to fight
-Tells Luna how proud he is of her
... And then we get to Stolas.
What does he reply with his new mindset of “I’ll try harder in my relationships”?
-He makes a move, and dare I say, he looks like he’s enjoying it.
Just like he did when Stolas pulled him close in the trip, but their positions flipped. (Implication of Stolas feeling the same???) This interaction has nothing to do with the book for once and has everything to do with the two looking out for each other.
In conclusion: Blitz loves Stolas and only accepted it at the end of episode 6
Why should Blitz love him though? All they've done is.....intimate stuff and we're suppose to accept this 180 degree turnabout on this because....reasons? This just seems really ham fisted to me. Like they don't even seem to really know one another, other than what they do in bed...that to me, isn't a good basis for a relationship, especially when it started on Stolas' terms.
@@wolfscar5557 I hope that development will come next since it’s obviously... very complicated. I just noticed that he took this moment to genuinely care about the people in his life considering all his toxic relationships from the past came to his mind.
How they’re contextualized though? Well that’s beyond me! What made his heart change its tune? Only Blitz knows right now. Or maybe he has feelings he simply can’t explain. Sometimes we feel a way towards someone (this could be love or hate) and the reason is something we’re just not noticing.
In all honesty, he may not understand it himself right now! He just knows he wants to try more to be better to everyone.
@@heath6802 See I can see that Blitz being better sure, that's what the whole episode is basically about. To be better to everyone, which hey is fine. I mean he certainly showed to be better to his crew in episode 6. So in that regard sure, but love Stolas? Mmmm....yeah not exactly buying that, at least in this respect. I could see if, if you know....they actually worked out something genuine, but we'll see how that goes.
I feel like he'll end up being better to Verosika too the next they meet. I don't see her being antagonistic very long, she's way too close to him and his past to just dump her off in such a manner.

I just rewatched that scene, blasting my eardrums to try and make out what Stolas says. It's "plaything." You can hear the hard 'L' and 'th' in the way he says the word. :)
I'm pretty sure it was plaything... it makes much more sense considering Stolas' position too.
