@11:00 we have the same CRT. Everyone else has the other model of this same TV. I think the only difference is the other TV has slightly better composite and speakers, but I'm not sure, and with composite I don't see any issues.
Awesome video! I recently reshelled and added HDMI to my old N64. I went the cheap route and added in the Hispeedido. It definitely doesn't have all the bells and whistles but for the price it's pretty dang solid.
I found my childhood N64 along with a spare one earlier this year and tested it out on my 4K OLED and it looked kinda bland but I wasn't using a great video scaler though. I also managed to pre-order that Analogue 3D you mentioned so maybe those built in CRT filters it has on it will mesh well with my 4K OLED TV. Having a modded N64 like the one in this video definitely has its perks though!
Hello, friends. Can someone share some info and knowledge on this? So, I recently bought a Pandora Box 58s and also a newer retro gaming stick - the X2 Plus. Also acquired 2 CRT TV sets (only tested one - a Philips, so far). But since they - the retro consoles only output in 720p resolution, it seems that there are no scanlines and I'm quite displeased with the image quality (maybe it's the CRT TV's fault?). Guess they - the retro game consoles - have some bilinear filtering and all, but I still can't get an image that resembles that of old retro games on the CRTs. I mostly want to play 8 and 16 / 24 bit games, like for the NES, SNES and especially Arcade / MAME games. And I want to buy the OSSC Pro in order to reduce the Output resolution from my retro consoles from 720p to the original 240p on the old CRT TV models. So...this is my Question: Do you think the OSSC PRO will help improve the image quality and the scanlines effects on the CRTs in a 240p resolution for these types of games? And I wonder if that Bilinear filtering in the consoles games will be an issue, also?
@@teksyndicateSo this is false then?: Simply disassemble your N64 and replace the existing cartridge slot bracket with this universal bracket. It's that simple. Note: PAL and other region N64 consoles have a special lock out chip that won't allow you to play on NTSC consoles and vice versa.
They do sell the parts if you want to do the soldering yourself. handheldlegend.com/products/retro-gem-n64-kit-base-version?_pos=1&_sid=ebdd0874e&_ss=r
I though you were going to mod it yourself 😭 wonder how nintendo hasn’t taken them down for selling modded hardware. Also the Analogue 3D should be better since mimicking the N64 hardware with its FPGA.
Why would Nintendo take this down? I own my system and I am using no emulation. Are you so used to being abused by corporations that you have forgotten about the concept of ownership? How is mimicking the N64 better than using a real N64? Your comments don't make much sense to me.
@ I meant all these mod websites like the one you featured. Analogue 3D theoretically will be better cause you increase the resolution and what not without any glitches or issues since it’s not emulation.
The music in this video is brilliant also that N64 is beautiful!

I have that same exact model with transparent blue on the top half. It was also an European model. I still have it in impeccable condition.
Beautiful console :>

if you don't care about original hardware and you don't need the analog input, the analogue is probably ok.
I wonder if I can send them my N64 that no longer works properly. I can turn it on, I can start playing, but then it resets.

but this does not work for the European n64? can it play US cartridges, or will it not be able to read them?
The region-free bracket should allow you to play any games. It's literally just the bracket that blocks things.

Is this better than getting a cheap upscaler?
10000x better.
Thats the color I would want. Was wondering if the n64 analogue or the super eon is the better option? Anyone?
The analogue isn't an N64. I'd get this one
I am going to be doing something like this but to my old family wii
the wii is the best homebrew console ever... 240p output for multiple generations of games.
Pretty cool but the price is extortion.

Love your videos but your music is making my ears bleed lol.
Don't make me come to your house and play my music at 4 AM!!!
