Clem Sunter still got his wits 💯💯 The ''Springbok' model is a possible solution to many bottlenecks including school sports in low quintile schools. South Africans are detached from reality because of politicians and the media.
Im reminded of a point I once heard: Build an economy and create jobs for the people and skills you actually have in your country. Not the people and skills you wish you had.
There is scientific evidence that playing music on an instrument creates kaleidoscopic lights in the brain and is beneficial to everything else you do in your life. Clem Sunter .. alway been my hero.🌟
Totally agree, a Business Indaba / Economic CODESA involving all sectors should be encouraged and pushed. I remember watching Clem Sumter on TV in the 1980's with the High Road, Low Road scenario for South Africa . With SA's current financial stress,. It's difficult to fathom which road we took, by all accounts today it looks like we chose the's low road.
Fact is SMME'S and their entrepreneurs are the future of any country, always has been and always will be. All to be encouraged and not to be put down and ignored.
I have a full time job for the past twenty-odd years. I would like to invest in business, but renting space will devour all the profit. How do I start.
The very real problem to small businesses, whether in townships, rural areas or towns, is access to finance. SA banking system only geared to big business and ensuring them making money of backs of hardworking people with exorbitant interest on lending. They want 2x the security of your assets, before considering helping any possible entrepreneur.
Paul Hawken in his “Growing a business” book debunks the myth of small business success being dependent on “finance”. Which supports the view that growth is not the key factor in business. It’s increasingly evident that in a finite resource world, infinite growth is disastrous not desirable. The key is to grow in a completely different way that does not deplete the natural and human capital of our planet. My sense is that competition will be overtaken by cooperation in the 21st century. Surely the township businesses are pointing to this trend emerging.
@@vleiratfilms2020 Success may not be dependent on finance but is needed to get out of the starting blocks. Any business that does not grow, stagnates. Not all small businesses want to stay a "family" business. Yes things may be done differently in the future but one works with what you have right now if your livelihood depends on it.
as a facilitator of such financial needs - government is actually the blockage to accessing capital that is available but not being dispersed accordingly. the managers of those funds are more keen on being commercial fund managers as opposed to being development fund managers (as is in their mandate). the politicians are fundamentally responsible since the bodies that oversee these fund managers have never held anyone accountable - classic government - its there - but we wont use it!!
Maybe just maybe, if one were to stop labelling the areas where most people in South Africa is living as 'townships' (something that the Apartheid Government created) but which over time have become flourishing suburbs, some area's can even be considered as towns and are even city size. The use of "township" is a divisive word, as if there are "those" over there and "we" over here. It is at least an elitist type description of separation and once again a top down creation installed upon South African society by academics and this is a mistake.
How encouraging to talk about the intangible assets on SA balance sheet vs the daily diatribe regarding all the liabilities . The unfortunate side order of government intervention to hold citizens back and make them reliant on grants and regulation to garner votes is very concerning. If the metric is ‘ merit ‘ and the focus is on encouraging and building competence and character then many will cross the ‘ merit’ finish line , and the looting incompetents will end up where they belong - at the back of the herd consuming jars of irrelevant hubris.
It's late now. We, township people want to have businesses in CBDs and suburban areas. Leave township economy to township residents. Why Now? You don't employ South Africans, you employ immigrants. GG said he is working with the Pakistanis and Somalis spaza shop owners in the townships. You want to cause divisions in townships which will lead to Black on Black violence. Hands Off our townships!! Out👉👉👉

The solution is quite simple - get rid of the corrupt ANC cadre deployment cabal; give the vote to people who actually contribute to the economy in taxes, education and owning property. Remove the vote from anyone with a criminal record. Cancel the now obsolete BBEEE system and crack down on criminals destroying the transport system.
We all want this country thrive, but despite some of the good points, many people can see that we can explode with positive results if the current obstacles that taint our society are culled. We are stuck with old ideologues, communists and racialists all screwing up so bad that despite how good things look, its all standing upon an ever hollowed out foundation.
Love it. Brilliant.
Super super guests. Thank you

But with ANC charging people for using solar will discourage people to try and assist

It is vital to give out as many title deeds as possible. This will encourage entrepreneurship.

If we look at the Springboks example Training (Education) and fit for purpose appointments into the correct positions.
