Yes, thanks a million because this was easy to follow. It helped me recall what little I knew.😁
Excellent! I'm a beginner in Houston TX and began class lessons this month. I appreciate your easy to follow basics and thorough explanations. Smooth Rhythm indeed. Thank you!
Hi 🎈
From another Houstonian!
Mr. Prather
Becoming a better hand dancer thanks to you.
Bring this out to the Bay Area. Folks in San Francisco and Oakland would love it.
Great video Al. I went to your class with a friend of minds and you were just an excellent instructor. Thanks
You're my favorite online instructor. You broke it down step by step at a pace I can follow which also makes it easy to pause and rewind. Thanks for the crash course but you're right, I need professional help. Can you recommend a school in Atlanta GA that has your style of training? Thanks.
Going to my first lesson tonight.
OMG! Now my husband can learn how to do this!!! Thank you :)
Yeah
This is how you do an easy tutorial. Thank you so much.
Mr Prather,
Thank you for putting together the educational Hand Dance for Dummies. For a guy like me with two left feet, video part 1 is my best friend (smile).
Saltin Peppa Jr.

Wow, thanks for breaking it down.
You are fantastic!!!! My husband and I are in our 40's and want to dance the bop so bad. I can follow your steps for the women...my husband can follow the steps for the man....but together we are a hot mess! Any suggestions? We started out with Jimmy Reed "Baby What You Want Me To Do"!!! Please send more videos... you make it look soooo easy!
Well done. Love your shoes!!
I like your style, for both men and women.

Mr. Prather, can you recommend a place where you can learn hand dancing in Hampton Virginia
Thank you, really helpful!
Very Educationally.Love To 💃
Excellent lesson. Question-why is it called “hand dance” ?
Can't wait to show these Midwesterners wassup
I may have to just keep looking at your video. I got the basics, but need the rest like you call it, traveling movement with the hand dancing. I like your teaching.
Is it going to take long to learn it or it depends on the person? I'm trying to have it for Jan 14, and surprise my bf, who can't teach me but he's a hand dancer and contest winner out of Norfolk, VA Broadway Club. I really want to surprise him.
what else would you suggest??
Adrianne Carter .... Adrianne, not sure where in Virginia you are, but we may not be that far apart. Text me directly 301-787-3777, or alvin@prather.com and let's talk about it...

What is the difference between DC hand dancing and Chicago step dancing?
Id say the count,
Chi stepping...8 count
Hand dance...6 count
Do you all still teach the classes in 2021?
Do you have hand dance classes in the DC area?

I see no hand dancing. I suppose this is good for actual dancing. But the title is slightly misleading. Just an FYI.
This is part one of 5. Part one covers the footwork because you have get your footwork together first.
Them shoes
can someone get in touch with me on this lesson.
Adrianne Carter Hello Adrian, Alvin here; how can I help you?
Yes, Wishing you were here in Virginia so I can really be taught hand dancing.
@@amazyncarter2424 I know this is two years later, but maybe you'll get the notice there is a reply, so I'll post. We have a fantastic DC hand dance instructor here in Woodbridge, Virginia which is in the southern end of northern Virginia. The dance studio is called Silky Smooth and the owner is Sandra Mason. She is a fantastic teacher especially when she teams up with William Mattocks. I believe he also holds classes in Maryland.
Unfortunately, the contribution on that part Rt 1 made it tough to get to the dance studio which cut business and Sandra let go of the building. I believe she currently holds classes in Occoquan. Here is the Facebook page:

It would be great if you are not too far. Virginia has a lot of miles =). Sandra really is a wonderful dance instructor.
Did he just say dummies
why say for dummies?
made easy to understand
lost art
Why do they have to be dummies, Just asked 🙄
I would never call a client or student a “dummy!” No way! Actually, one of my students recommended the use of the word “dummies” as a play on the popular book titles “Algebra for Dummies,” and “Calculus for Dummies” etc. it’s just a play on words for a catchy title. I apologize if it was offensive in any manner.
Mr. Prather
Becoming a better hand dancer thanks to you.
